FIFA 20 Players Franck Ribery, Fikayo Tomori Question Likeness & Ratings, Title Update Arrives

It’s rare that sports video games arrive to the masses without complaints from gamers about various issues. However, when the players themselves voice frustrations, that can lead the game makers to scramble sometimes. That’s the case for at least one of the players who voice frustrations over their in-game characters. Here’s the latest on Franck Ribery and Fikayo Tomori questioning what EA was thinking when they made their FIFA 20 players. In addition, a new title update arrived to address many issues.

Franck Ribery amongst FIFA 20 players with game gripe

Just two weeks ago, Fiorentina footballer Franck Ribery called out the EA FIFA team for his in-game likeness. Apparently Ribery was playing the game with his kids and when his character came on the screen it caused him to wonder what was going on. He took to Twitter to ask EA Sports FIFA “Who is this guy?” Here’s a look at his tweet with the posted image of his player.

EA responds as title update arrives

Just a bit over two weeks later, the EA FIFA 20 players and overall game got an update. That included a likeness change for Franck Ribery to better reflect his real look. Here’s a tweet from EA Sports FIFA showing him off.

“Hey @FranckRibery, your Transfer Certificate is finally in. Violet looks good on you #WeKnowHimBetter #FIFA20,” EA commented in their post showing off the new Franck Ribery. Hopefully, Ribery will be proud enough to play FIFA 20 with his kids now.

Ribery’s likeness update arrives just as a huge title update arrived in FIFA 20. Check out EA’s notes discussing many of the big changes.

Fikayo Tomori takes issue with in-game ratings

Fikayo Tomori doesn’t actively play the FIFA 20 game like other players might, but he’s still taken notice of his in-game representation. In particular, he’s not too happy with how slow he is amongst FIFA 20 players. Obivously, he’s not the fastest in the game, but he believes he should be fastest on his own team.

According to one report, he mentioned noticing that there are certain FIFA 20 players with a quicker Pace or Speed rating than him on the game.

“I’ve seen my stats […] To be fair, I’m not unhappy with it but when I see people I know I’m quicker than are faster than me on the game, that’s annoying,” Tomori said when speaking to BBC MOTDx crew.

The Chelsea center back has an 80 Pace in the game on his card with a 77 Acceleration and an 83 Sprint Speed. However, his teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi has a 85 Pace with 86 Acceleration and 84 Spring Speed.

Frank Lampard was asked his thoughts on who is the faster of the FIFA 20 players, Fikayo Tomori or Callum Hudson-Odoi. He took the political high ground by not getting involved in the argument.

However, Tomori’s teammate Mason Mount told BBC, “I would put Fikayo at the top. He is probably the quickest in our team.” per a Football.London report. The debate will rage on as Fikayo will try to get his ratings upgraded by on-field performances.
