FIFA 20 Release Day Trailer, New Ones to Watch Player Arrive As Issues Persist

Friday, September 27, marked the official release date for the brand new FIFA 20 title from EA. In conjunction with the release, EA also dropped a brand new video trailer for the game, as well as a brand new “Ones to Watch” player for Ultimate Team. However, there are still some issues plaguing the new game that have gamers a bit frustrated with the release.

New FIFA 20 release day trailer

The new FIFA 20 trailer is called ‘Wrong Breaks New Ground.” The concept shows off a number of stars as they prove that being told something isn’t correct can lead to them creating new moves in the game. It opens with FIFA 20 cover star Eden Hazard and also features other star athletes including Team USA’s Megan Rapinoe. The latter recently won a FIFA Footballer of the Year Award for the women alongside Lionel Messi for the men.

Other athletes in the trailer include Sancho, Raheem Sterling, and boxer Anthony Joshua. It’s a great way to focus on the concept of being told you’re wrong for doing things a certain way and then proving the doubters were actually wrong about that.

However, that message comes as a lot of gamers are upset over FIFA 20 Career Mode as well as Ultimate Team and VOLTA Football. It got to the point where “#FixCareerMode” was trending in the United Kingdom on Twitter. Per Eurogamer, a lot of gamers who were using that hashtag or who are gathering on forums feel that the Career Mode has the same issues as previous editions.  Per Eurogamer, that includes glitches lowering player ratings or teams fielding reserves/substitute players, among others.

Fans vote in new Ones to Watch player

A day after the FIFA 20 release, they also revealed which player fans voted for as the newest member of the Ones to Watch squad. It’s none other than Allan Saint-Maximin with a 79 overall card for the ongoing FUT OTW promotion. His attributes and skills ratings include 93 Pace, 86 Dribbling, and 70s for both Shooting and Passing on the card.

The Ones to Watch are players available for the FIFA 20 Ultimate Team mode. Others have included Eden Hazard and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. So far the reaction to this Saint-Maximin reveal has been mixed. Many gamers feel it’s a similar item to last year’s Gelson Martins. Basically, the belief is there won’t be any informs for Saint-Maximin. Other games mention his SBC (Squad Building Challenge) is overpriced for what it takes. Still, this was a fan vote item so there has to be a few gamers happy with it.

In addition to the new Allan Saint-Maximin item, EA revealed Team of the Week 2 players just ahead of the FIFA 20 release. They included one of the top stars in the game, Kevin de Bruyne, among others that are now in FUT packs.
