Just a day ago, EA Sports officially showed fans two of their FIFA 20 cover stars. In an online reveal, they displayed the covers for the Standard Edition and Champions Edition. Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk appear on the respective covers. That left one more cover reveal, for the FIFA 20 Ultimate Edition of the game. However, based on some hints that EA has dropped, the gaming community has sparked FIFA 20 rumors about who is on that final cover.
FIFA 20 rumors sparked by online evidence
With Hazard and van Dijk as FIFA 20 cover athletes, there’s one remaining. The speculation is that former football star Zinedine Zidane will appear on the game’s final cover. So how did the FIFA 20 rumors arrive for the Ultimate Edition cover star? It’s a guess based on some interesting information the community has witnessed and uncovered.
The first bit of evidence came through the EA FIFA website, as an image outline appeared. Members of the community were able to determine who that image fits. Check out the tweet below with an animated GIF showing off the star footballer as he is placed onto the image.
The other bit of evidence arrived through EA taking action on Instagram. Another tweet arrived that caught them in the act of following a certain footballer on the social media platform this past Friday. That’s right, they gave the official Zidane Instagram a follow, leading to stronger FIFA 20 rumors for the final cover star.
Zinedine Zidane spent eight years playing professional with three seasons at Juventus and his final five with Real Madrid. During that career, the midfielder tallied 49 goals and 57 assists in 245 total appearances.
New FUT content, game price & release date
On Saturday, FIFA 20 content arrived for some of the new Ultimate Team items. That included a reveal of four Ones to Watch players along with the news that Andrea Pirlo will be one of the FIFA 20 Icons players. Both tweets mentioned there would be more features revealed on July 31. Quite possibly, the final cover will come on that date or just before it.
The FIFA 20 rumors seem to be on track, but time will tell if the gaming community got this one right. FIFA 20 arrives on September 27 with the Standard Edition for $59.99 and the Champions Edition for $79.99. However, the Ultimate Edition is the highest priced of the three editions at $99.99.
