EA has officially announced the FIFA 21 and Madden 21 Next-Gen release date for their top-selling sports games. While 2K’s basketball simulation will come out in conjunction with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, EA’s games will not. Instead, gamers will have to wait a bit to enjoy the upgraded gameplay of the next-gen FIFA 21 and Madden 21 titles.
When is the FIFA 21 and Madden 21 Next-Gen release date?
Per IGN’s report, the FIFA 21 and Madden 21 next-gen release date is officially Friday, December 4. That’s under a month after the Microsoft and Sony next-gen consoles will officially arrive for gamers. The Xbox Series X and S consoles are slated for November 10 release date. The PlayStation 5 comes out two days later on November 12.
A press release indicated the next-gen titles will feature, “blazing fast load times, the most realistic, fluid player movement ever in EA SPORTS titles, authentic game day experiences inside stadiums and new player detail unlocked by deferred rendering and lighting.”
We’ve yet to see any next-generation trailer or gameplay video since the teaser a few months ago (below). However, there are likely to be some on the way prior to FIFA and Madden 21 next-gen release date. We recently saw 2K unveil a new NBA 2K21 gameplay video with some commentary about the upcoming next-gen changes.
Gamers get free upgrades via Dual Entitlement
Thanks to the EA Dual Entitlement program, gamers will be able to upgrade their current-gen game to the next-gen game free of charge. The caveat is that the upgrade is only available between same brand consoles. So gamers can upgrade a PlayStation 4 version of FIFA or Madden 21 to the PlayStation 5 version. The same goes for Xbox One to the Xbox Series X/S.
In addition, EA has indicated that gamers who own disc versions of the FIFA 21 or Madden 21 games will need to contact them to obtain a digital next-gen game code. So far, no additional details have been provided as far as that process goes.
In addition, gamer’s Madden 21 progress for Ultimate Team, The Yard, and Franchise modes will carry over from current to next-gen. For FIFA 21, it will be Ultimate Team and VOLTA mode progress and content that carries over. However, FIFA data for Online Seasons, Co-Op Seasons, Career Mode, and Pro Clubs will not transfer from current to next-gen.
