FIFA 21 TOTY 12th Man Nominees Revealed, Voting Underway in Ultimate Team
Within the past week, EA has unveiled their FIFA 21 Team of the Year, consisting of a star-powered starting XI. The 11-man team is comprised of the best footballers from around the globe and now EA is opening up voting for a 12th member. On Tuesday, they unveiled the three FIFA 21 TOTY 12th nominees that gamers can vote for.
FIFA 21 TOTY 12th man nominees arrive
Three players are listed for the honor of FIFA 21 TOTY 12th man, and fittingly one of the game’s all-time greats is there. Lionel Messi may not have made the initial team of 11, but is likely to get plenty of votes for the 12th man. The Barcelona star has a 95 overall card in Ultimate Team, so a win for Team of the Year would give him another upgrade in the FIFA video game.
Joining him on the TOTY 12th man nominees are Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min and Liverpool’s Thiago. The Premier League stars have 89 OVR and 85 OVR items in FUT mode, respectively.
The 12th man nominees were revealed during a Twitch rivals tournament on Tuesday. Check out the three nominees’ card art below along with the 11 players who already have received spots on Team of the Year.
Voting is currently underway for the FIFA 21 TOTY 12th man. In order to vote for one of the three nominees, gamers need to log into Ultimate Team mode on the game. From there, choose one of the three players as a loan for your FUT roster. The selected player becomes a vote for 12th man on Team of the Year. Voting will end on January 28th.
Last year’s Team of the Year 12th man spot went to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. However, it appears he may have taken over Messi’s spot for FIFA 21.
Who else is on FIFA’s Team of the Year?
With Lionel Messi a surprise absence from the starting XI, other players are clearly deserving of the honors. That includes Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Kevin de Bruyne, Virgil Van Dijk, and Kylian Mbappe. Each of these players currently has upgraded FUT TOTY items available for the promotion.
EA revealed all of the FIFA 21 TOTY player ratings in groups based on position. We first saw ratings for the attackers, and more recently the TOTY midfielder ratings. Now all of the player ratings are officially out.
Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo are the highest-rated TOTY players with 98 OVR cards. The lowest-rated player is Alphonso Davis with a 93 OVR item. The complete player ratings are available at FUTHEAD’s website.
