On Monday, EA revealed the new FIFA 21 Ultimate Team trailer online through various social media platforms. With the over three and a half minute long video, gamers were able to get more insight into how this year’s FUT mode play will be. It’s among the more popular aspects of FIFA, and looks like it should continue that trend based on the ability to team up with friends and compete in the community.
FIFA 21 Ultimate Team trailer covers co-op and community-based events
FIFA 21 Ultimate Team aka FUT 21 allows gamers to build a dream football squad full of stars. Gamers acquire players for their roster through packs, the transfer market, completing in-game objectives or challenges, and more. Typically, it’s been a highly individual experience competing against the CPU or AI.
The new FUT 21 is being billed as the “most social” the mode has ever been. That’s due to a collection of new co-op and community-based interactive aspects of the mode allowing for different ways to compete. Friends will be able to team up online to compete in FUT against duos or solos, or take on the computer AI together in Squad Battles. This will bring progress through shared objectives and weekly competitions.
New FUT Friendlies will combine Squad Rules and House rules to give a range of new matches that change throughout the season. There are also going to be more community-based events. In these, gamers “pick a side” they want to represent and can then earn shared rewards.
The new FIFA 21 Ultimate Team trailer below, along with EA’s FUT notes, bring the latest details. Other highlights include Streamlined Club Management, FUT Stadiums, and the FUT 100. Read on for more details about those.
Streamlined Club Management is something touched upon at EA’s website. It means less time spent managing your FUT squad thanks to removal of Fitness Items, Staff Coaches, and Training Items. EA touts an “updated injury and healing system” in FUT 21. This allows gamers to stop worrying over those aspects and enjoy more playing time on the virtual pitch.
New stadium customization and The FUT 100
In addition, the mode is set to feature more customization than before as far as one’s FUT home arena goes. The trailer goes into FUT Stadiums a bit. Gamers can determine paint colors, walk-on music, pitch trophies, pyrotechnics, celebrations, Tifos, and more for a club’s home experience.
We also mentioned earlier that EA revealed all 100 FUT Icons that will be featured in the new game. The FIFA 21 Ultimate Team trailer narrator suggests it’s “100 of the biggest icons to ever play the beautiful game.”
They’ll include the debut or return of all-time greats from the pitch such as Samuel Eto’o, Xavi, and Philipp Lahm. The trio appears in the new trailer with mention of Pele and others. However, the newest Icons are sure to entice many fans with new options.
Gamers will get to dive into all these aspects when the new game officially arrives for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. FIFA 21 has a release date of Oct. 9, 2020, for Standard Edition. The game is available to play three days earlier for those who pre-order the Champions or Ultimate Edition. See more details at EA’s website.
