In a recent report, we discussed the FIFA 21 early access rewards for EA Play or pre-orders. We’ve now learned that the FIFA 21 web app, aka FUT companion app, will be available as of September 30, 2020. The release date reveal came via the current version of the mobile app. A pop-up screen came up letting returning app users now they’d be getting special rewards for FIFA 21.
As seen in the message below, claiming the rewards involves going onto the FIFA Web app starting on September 30. They also mention that’s the date gamers can start building their “FUT 21 club.”
The FIFA 21 web app is completely free to download. It’s available for iOS devices through the App Store. It’s also available for Android devices through Google Play Store.
We should also mention this is a different app from the FIFA Mobile game app which will also pop up at both of the app stores.
What is the FUT companion app for?
Basically, the FIFA 21 web app lets you work on your Ultimate Team using your mobile device. So when you’re not nearby your console, you can go onto the mobile app and perform a variety of tasks.
That includes the ability to work on Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) by exchanging your spare player items for new players, packs, or other items.
You can also claim rewards from Weekend League, Division Rivals, Squad Battles, or FUT events. Basically, the app allows you to log in and claim any of these rewards without going onto your console or other gaming devices.
Gamers can choose sides in various FUT events that involve picking a club or player. Other options include being able to buy and sell through the Transfer Market or customize your Ultimate Team stadium right on the FIFA 21 web app.
With the web app coming September 30, that gives EA Play members a day ahead of their early access. It’ll give gamers who pre-orded Champions or Ultimate Edition about a week to begin on FUT and everyone else about 10 days.
