An online leak recently arrived suggesting that the FIFA 22 release date, along with other key details about the game, could be on the way very soon. The big news arrives not long after EA made the official reveal for their popular American football title, Madden 22. However, many gamers around the world are eager to see what’s in store for the latest edition of the international football game. Here’s what could be on the way and when it might arrive.
Online leak suggests FIFA 22 release date news
The next installment in EA’s FIFA franchise is expected in the next several months. On Saturday, the @FUTZONECENTRAL Twitter account shared an exciting update with followers waiting for news about FIFA 22 release date. An announcement about the game including pre-order details is expected to arrive on July 11th.
That would make for an interesting announcement date, as it’s a Sunday. However, it coincides with the Euro Finals’ start so that could be the reason for the specific day to promote the game.
The tweet indicates that the date is “subject to change.” A further update arrived in a tweet replay, as FUTZone indicated that the date could change now that the information has seemingly been leaked to the public.
July 11th would be one week from this Sunday, and ahead of the upcoming EA Play Live events scheduled for later this month. Many fans are expecting that EA will drop information during the event about various sports games. Madden 22 has already been revealed, but more details are coming each week about the game’s features ahead of its August 20 release date.
Game’s cover star, trailer, and pre-order edition details coming?
While the online leak suggests FIFA 22 release date will arrive on July 11, it’s unknown if that’s all fans might get, if and when this happens. There could be a cover reveal along with a look at the various game editions.
Kylian Mbappe graced the FIFA 21 cover, so most fans are expecting a new star athlete to be on the front when FIFA 22 release date and pre-orders start. We previously gave our FIFA cover predictions along with speculation about when the game could release. Some potential cover stars include Robert Lewandowski, Christian Pulisic, or a return for the G.O.A.T. Lionel Messi.
When it comes to the game’s release, previous editions’ release dates seem to give a hint about FIFA 22’s arrival. It could come out at some point between Friday, September, 24th, and Friday, October, 8th, 2021.
As far as editions go, the EA Sports games typically feature three. There’s a base edition, and then higher-priced editions which typically include more bonus content. With FIFA 21, there were the Standard, Ultimate, and Champions editions released for the game.
We’d expect if a trailer arrives on or around that July 11 announcement date, it won’t be a full gameplay trailer, but more of a teaser to get fans excited. Expect EA Play Live to include much more about the game.
Based on a recent EA Play Live Spotlight Series announcement, there will be a special date reserved for something exciting about an EA Sports franchise. It’s unknown if that might relate to the FIFA game or another title, though.
Stay tuned as we’re excited to see what’s on the way for EA’s international football sim in the coming weeks!
