FIFA eWorld Cup 2019: MegaBit98 Claims Virtual Bundesliga, Gravesen Wins LaLiga eSports Title

This weekend, a brand new champion emerged within the ranks of FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 qualifying events. It was none other than MegaBit98 who was able to rise above his fellow competitors in Berlin. A huge Grand Final victory on Sunday brought him the FIFA Virtual Bundesliga title too. Here are more details on MegaBit98’s historic win from this past weekend.

New FIFA Virtual Bundesliga champion

The popularity of FIFA amongst esports gamers is certainly a worldwide phenomenon. A majority of the major tournaments going on this past year have been within Europe including the FUT Champions Cup in Bucharest and Sunday’s Virtual Bundesliga from Berlin. Michael “MegaBit98” BittnerĀ battled through a tough field of competitors, ultimately arriving to the Grand Final.

That Grand Final would be no easy feat either. Bittner ended up taking on his own teammate and friend, Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous. To get there, the two teammates had to advance past competitors on their respective consoles. According to Virtual Bundesliga’s report, MegaBit was able to defeat challenger Yannic0109 from Augsburg by a final score of 4-2 on the Xbox. Meanwhile, his teammate MoAuba won the PlayStation final easily by a score of 7-3 over new challenger “cl23_leon.”

From there, the two friends and teammates competed in the cross-platform Grand Final. Their first game took place on the Xbox One with MegaBit able to make a comeback from down 3-2, to winning by a score of 4-3. From there, they’d have the next leg on the PlayStation 4 where MegaBit managed to grab a 2-0 lead, ultimately securing his spot as the brand new Virtual Bundesliga champ.

It’s captioned with “Der Moment des Tages fur @MegaBit98,” which translates in English to “The moment of the day for MegaBit 98.” It was a proud moment for the new VB champ who joins previous winner Tim “TheStrxngeR” Katnawatos.
