German esports star Mo Auba is the official FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 champion. As of Sunday, August 4, he captured the FIFA 19 title after an exciting tournament and thrilling grand final. That finale featured one of the game’s top competitors in MSdossary, but Mo ultimately took the title. Here’s a look at how the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 results played out in London’s O2 Arena this weekend.
Mo Auba reigns supreme in FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 results
It took several months of play including eWorld Cup qualifying events. That all led to the big FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 tournament in which the best PlayStation and Xbox gamers competed for the prestigious title. After 32 players started the eWorld Cup, it all came down to just two finalists: Mo Auba as PlayStation 4 champion against the Xbox One champ Msdossary.
Mo Auba’s path to the final showdown including his wins over top stars Maestro in the quarterfinals and then Nicolas99fc in the semifinals. That set up the grand final against another of the top stars in the game, Msdossary. His opponent was looking to go back-to-back with FIFA eWorld Cup wins after capturing last year’s FIFA title. However, he was denied by Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous who won the grand final, 1-1, 2-1 (3–2 agg.).
Check out the video below as the champion celebrates by hoisting his trophy and everyone in attendance cheers for his big achievement.
Auba defeats world’s best FIFA esports stars
Auba was crowned champion and his path to the grand final didn’t come easy. First, he had to defeat last year’s eWorld Cup runner-up Pinna97. From there, Auba had to advance past eNations Cup winner Maestro in the quarterfinals. The next step was a tough semifinals matchup against the PlayStation’s No. 1 ranked FIFA star Nicolas99fc. However, Auba prevailed after extra time was added to the game. He spoke about what it was like playing in, and ultimately winning, that semifinals.
As expected, the champion was full of emotion after capturing the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 title. He called it “crazy” but seemed to be on a high after winning the championship. Auba talked about the overall experience and how it felt just moments after getting his impressive victory over Msdossary. He also mentioned getting some great tips from fellow gamer Megabit about how to play against Msdossary too.
While Msdossary was unable to capture a second-straight title, he didn’t go home empty-handed. He was given the Adidas Dare to Create award with Bulgarian professional footballer Dimitar Berbatov handing it out to him in person.
That puts a wrap on the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 and the FIFA 19 season. Now fans will anxiously await the arrival of the FIFA 20 video game in September to begin perfecting their strategies for the next big tournaments!
