Far Cry New Dawn launches on all platforms tomorrow, on the 15th of February. The spin-off title is a direct sequel to Far Cry 5, taking place seventeen years (and one nuclear apocalypse) later. With players taking on the role of a brand new protagonist arriving in Hope County for the first time, details on the game’s story, factions, and so forth have been scarce. Now, following the release of a launch trailer, Ubisoft has given fans a glimpse of what to expect from the game by releasing the first twelve minutes of Far Cry New Dawn gameplay.

The First Twelve Minutes of Far Cry New Dawn Gameplay

The game’s opening quickly gets players up to speed with what has taken place since the end of Far Cry 5. The people who survived the nuclear war emerged from their bunkers and began to rebuild. For a time, they were had peace and built a home for themselves. However, the Highwaymen, led by the Twins, have since shattered the peace they had enjoyed. Carmina Rye, the daughter of Nick and Kim Rye from Far Cry 5, has set out to enlist the help of Thomas Rush; a survival expert who has been travelling the country with a band of supporters helping survivors build settlements and survive.

Rush and his group are hoping that the fertile ground of Hope County will let them establish farms to feed survivors further afield. However, in exchange, they have agreed to rid Hope County of the Highwaymen. Unfortunately, things don’t go remotely as planned. The train is immediately derailed, and players must fight for their lives to escape the Twins and their warriors.
