The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta has been officially announced by Treyarch a few days ago, breaking the studios’ silence over the awaited FPS title. We also got to find out that Playstation 4 will not only get a week early access in the beta before Xbox One and PC but will also get an early weekend, starting on August 3rd.
As Treyarch revealed on a recent Playstation blog post, the first access to the private multiplayer Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta is starting at 5pm BST / 6pm CEST on 3rd August, as an exclusive PlayStation 4 beta weekend. This beta phase will be available to all players that have pre-purchased the game with the next one being available for all players.
Here’s what’s included in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta set for August:
Specialists
Specialists bring special equipment and game-changing weapons into the fight. On a single team, each player will choose a specific Specialist:
- Recon
- Crash
- Battery
- Torque
- Ruin
- Seraph
- Ajax
- Firebreak
- Nomad
- Prophet
All the private multiplayer beta game modes will be available on four playable maps:
- Frequency: A covert listening station deep in the mountainous region of Hunan Province is being used to track strategic targets across the globe.
- Contraband: Surveillance of an international arms smuggling operation has uncovered this shipping hub on a remote, uncharted island off the coast of Colombia.
- Seaside: An anti-government protest in this quaint coastal Spanish town grew out of control and forced a military shutdown.
- Payload: A defensive ICBM launch facility deep in an Icelandic mountain range has been infiltrated by hostile forces attempting to steal a nuclear warhead.
As for Blackout, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, a beta will be taking place at a later date, set for September.
