For the first time ever this weekend, PUBG will be getting an aircraft that players can actually fly, the PUBG Motor Glider. Initially only available for testing in PUBG Labs, the Motor Glider doesn’t have any weapons and only seats two, but provides players with unmatched mobility and an ability to traverse the map.
Testing Starts for the New PUBG Motor Glider
“You’ve been hittin’ the roads on the battlegrounds pretty head,” writes the PUBG Corporation; “but where we’re going, we don’t need roads. Final boarding call for the Motor Glider only available for a limited time. Take to the air in the new Motor Glider and get the drop on enemy squads wherever they are.”

From 11:00 PM PST on the 19th of December to the same time on the 22nd of December, the new Motor Glider will be available in PUBG Labs. This will be the first public test phase for the new vehicle. Indeed, the developers are actively looking for player feedback via social media about its inclusion. The aircraft, which is relatively small, can seat a pilot and one passenger who can shoot and throw explosives. Taking off in the glider isn’t necessarily simple; pilots will need to reach 65 km/h before leaving the ground at 70 km/h, but the vehicle is very nimble once it’s in the air.
Interestingly, there is technically no maximum altitude for the Motor Glider; players can fly as high as they want. However, as a balancing factor, the engine will begin to lose power as you get higher and higher. Additionally, the faster you travel in the Motor Glider, the faster it consumes fuel. While the glider can be shot and damaged (especially its engine), it will provide players with brand-new advantages. With something like a PUBG Map analysis tool, players can identify key sites and features and use the Motor Glider to get to them directly, potentially outmanoeuvring rival players.
