The Fortnite Playground Mode is one of the more successful alternate modes in Epic Games’ best-selling title. Originally offered as a Limited Time Mode, the mode performed so well that it was made a permanent fixture. However, players using the Playground Mode have recently been reporting a major bug. Now, that bug appears to have been fixed.
A Fix for the Fortnite Playground Mode Respawn Bug
Epic Games announced the new fix via Twitter, assuring players that the mode would no longer be affected by the problem. The fix comes just days after another hotfix update; Update 1.72 was recently implemented, largely to fix bugs caused by Content Update v5.2.
We discovered an issue in failed respawns in Playgrounds. This has now been resolved. Jump in, create and fight against your friends!

The Playground Mode is very different to Fortnite’s core Battle Royale mode. It gives players the standard 1-hour time limit. However, instead of fighting, the players are free to act as they want within the standard Battle Royale map. Friendly fire is on, so players can choose to fight if they want, but are otherwise free to build or practice. Additionally, unless players die as a result of the storm, they will always respawn upon death. (In fact, the storm won’t even start closing in until there are just 5 minutes remaining.) The Playground Mode versions of maps are also overloaded with resources and loot; each map contains 100 Llamas, a spawn rate of 100% for Chests and Ammo Boxes, and enhanced resources. Ever resource counts for ten times the normal amount.
Ordinarily, respawning is not a mechanic in other Fortnite modes, and therein lay the recent problem. Players were finding that the respawn mechanic in the Fortnite Playground Mode was failing. Hopefully, Epic Games has truly resolved the source of the bug; rendering the Playground Mode once again usable as originally designed. Fortnite has recently had several major updates, since the launch of Content Update v5.2; as a result, players have identified several new bugs which Epic Games is acting rapidly to fix.
