Fortnite Battle Royale players are currently in the last week of season 5. Epic Games has recently announced the starting date of season 6, and players will also get a chance to earn more XP this season. Fortunately, Fortnite players won’t have to wait for October for the new season.
According to the video game developer, season 6 will start on September 27. The release date was originally scheduled for September 25, but Epic Games decided to extend it. It turns out that the leak about the October 2 start was not true, and players will get a new Battle Pass and a big update in less than a week.
Fortnite Season 6 theme
At the moment, no one exactly knows what the season 6 theme will be. However, considering that the cube reached Loot Lake and transformed it into a bouncy area, we expect the next season to have a dark theme. According to the leak posted on 4chan, there will be a dark portal in the middle of the lake.
Epic Games is already working on the Dark Bomber skin, which makes us believe that the leak is true. The leak states that Fortnite players will be able to enter the portal. Additionally, many skins will have their dark variants, and players will enter a non-combat area after getting into the portal.
Season 5 quad XP event
Fortnite Battle Royale players have also received a quadruple season 5 XP event. Match XP will be multiplied by 4 during this event, and it ends on September 24, at 8 AM ET.
It is important to note that it is possible to unlock additional styles for Drift and Ragnarok skins even after season 5 ends. However, players have to unlock these skins first in order to earn additional styles for them. Getting the final upgrade for the Ragnarok skin takes 500,000 XP, and this is why Fortnite players should try to make most out of the current XP event.
