Fortnite Dataminers Have Uncovered Meteor Sound Effects in Latest Patch Files

In addition to today’s “llama” early warning system, it seems that Fortnite dataminers have uncovered additional information surrounding a possible meteor disaster that’s coming very, very soon. Fortnite’s just gone down for maintenance, and that could mean something very sinister. That, and what the dataminers have uncovered could all spell out doom. Could it finally be time for Tilted Towers to go bye-bye?

Datamining of patch v.3.6.0’s files has revealed a set of sound files that correspond to meteors raining down from the sky in a blaze of heavenly glory. FortniteIntel has a video up showcasing what the sounds are like, and you can see the listing of their filenames below. If you hit up the video, make sure to turn your headphones down, as they’re of, well, explosions. They’re going to be loud, after all.

Fortnite Patch Sound Filenames

All this certainly seems like pretty hard evidence that the meteors we’ve been keeping an eye on all this time aren’t just for show and indeed will begin raining down on the map, but to what end? What will come of this? We’ll have to continue to be patient as the day wears on and maintenance has ended.

As far as our predictions for the end of Tilted Towers and the beginning of something new, it’s possible this could simply be a special event that shows off several meteors falling to the ground. It may not end up wiping anything off the map, and instead may instead usher in some new sort of game mode.  It’s hard to say at this point, but keep checking back at VGR for more updates on the situation.
