Epic Games has made hundreds of changes to Fortnite Battle Royale in the past four years. While most of the changes were good, some of them were not received well by the community. According to a recent leak, the Fortnite developer is planning on bringing a controversial item back to the game.
It appears that Season 8 will bring back B.R.U.T.E. mechs, which will most likely split the community once again. On the positive side, however, Epic Games will make some changes to these vehicles before releasing them. Hopefully, this time they will do it right and players will be happy!
Controversial mechs could return in the current Fortnite season
ShiinaBR and HYPEX, two popular Fortnite Battle Royale leakers, shared the leak regarding the return of the controversial item. At the moment, it is unknown whether these will be the old mechs or new ones. However, HYPEX has shared several details regarding the changes to this vehicle.
Mechs will have robotic vocal cords effect for voice chat and emote props will have a proper size. Furthermore, they will have better charging effects and will be able to float on water. These will most likely not be the only changes that will be released.
At the moment, there is no information regarding the strength of this vehicle. Hopefully, Epic Games has learned the lesson from Season X and will not make B.R.U.T.E. mechs extremely powerful. We might get a weaker version of them that was in the game in the final weeks of Season X.
How to get mechs back into Fortnite?
According to the leakers, Fortnite Battle Royale players will be able to bring mechs back to the game. This vehicle will be funded by gold bars, which means that it will be completely up to the community whether to bring it back or not.
Right now, players can spend their gold bars to fund mounted turrets at several spots on the island. Furthermore, players recently had a chance to pick between unvaulting the Shockwave Launcher or the Rift-to-Go. At the end, the Shockwave Launcher was unvaulted as players spent more gold bars on it.
According to HYPEX, the funding will be added at the end of Season 8. This means that mechs will most likely be in the game for a short period of time, even if players choose to bring them back. Silver lining!
