Fortnite Battle Royale players are going to get a lot of new content in the upcoming weeks. Epic Games is back from the summer break and developers are ready to work hard once again! A recent Fortnite leak has revealed some upcoming content for the game and players are very excited about it.
It turns out that the Fortnite developer is working on bringing a popular Season X feature back. In this season, which was the final season of Chapter 1, players had the opportunity to visit Rift Zones. Now, it seems that this feature is coming back to the game.
Fortnite leak reveals the return of a popular feature
HYPEX, one of the most popular Fortnite leakers, has recently revealed Epic’s plans to bring Rift Zones back. These zones were permanent map changes that would bring older places back to the island, but with a twist. For example, Greasy Grove had returned to the game as a Rift Zone, but players inside of it were forced to periodically dance which would restore their health.
Rift Zones brought back some of the most nostalgic places, including Moisty Mire, Retail Row, Starry Suburbs, and others. Furthermore, Epic Games used this feature for collaboration with the Borderlands franchise as the Pandora Rift Zone was also featured in Season X.
HYPEX claims that the Mothership will create Rift Zones in Chapter 2, Season 7. Furthermore, there will be four different types of these zones. Prop Disguise will be one of those types, however, it will be limited to only a few items, such as a mailbox and a telescope. Season X players may remember the Moisty Palms Rift Zone which also had Prop Disguise.
Return of older places?
Many Fortnite Battle Royale players would love to see some older places once again. Considering that Rift Zones are coming back to the game, this might happen. If Epic Games decides to use Rift Zones for bringing back older places, many players will be thrilled and excited.
While the Chapter 2 map has gone through numerous changes, the truth is that mostly the central part of it was drastically changed. Everything else has gotten little to no changes, and that is something Rift Zones could potentially change.
Fortnite players are expecting the v17.20 update to come out on Tuesday, July 27. This update could add some more game files which reveal the upcoming content for the popular video game.
