Epic Games has teased players with Fortnite Season 7 for a few days now. First, players were able to participate in the mini event which had them abducted by aliens. Right after it, the video game developer started posting teasers all over social media as well as in real life. Now, just a few hours before the release of the new season, players are able to get a sneak peek of some of the new things coming to the game.
The video game developer has revealed several things that will come to the new season of Fortnite, but leakers have also shared some details about the new additions.
New features confirmed by Epic
Fortnite Battle Royale developer has confirmed one new feature that is coming to the game with Season 7. Players will be able to cancel shakedowns performed on downed opponents, giving them a chance to defend themselves against other enemies. Shakedown was first added in the second season of Chapter 2, but it had received no updates since then. However, players will finally be able to cancel this action, which is a fantastic addition. Not only are players exposed while shaking an enemy down, but some of them do it by accident while wanting to pick up a different item from the ground.
Furthermore, PC players will receive a massive upgrade to in-game graphics. PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X have received graphics updates a few months ago, but PC is still behind these consoles. However, this will change with the v17.00 patch as PC players will receive new explosion effects, better-looking clouds and storm, as well as many other changes. Players will have to have their settings set to Epic to see the new changes.
Leaked changes
Popular Fortnite Battle Royale leaker HYPEX has revealed that Primal and Makeshift weapons will be removed at the start of Fortnite Season 7. While this has not been confirmed by Epic Games, the change makes a lot of sense as Season 6 has a primal theme, so these weapons wouldn’t make sense in the next season. However, the removal of Makeshift weapons indicates that crafting will be removed from the game as well, which is something many players have asked for!
The leaker has also revealed that Supply Llamas will be updated in Season 7, most likely with the initial patch. While he hasn’t revealed the exact changes to llamas, the leaker said that the update would be “really good.”
Other additions
It appears that Ricky and Morty collaboration is coming to Fortnite in Season 7. The official Twitter page of the show retweeted one of the teasers for the new season, which means that we can expect the collaboration to happen soon, possibly on Day 1.
Lastly, the Fortnite x EURO 2020 Cup will run on June 16 and 17 and will reward players with exclusive rewards. When it comes to competitive modes, Arena hype will be reset on June 22.
