Apex Legends has become a huge deal overnight. Some people are even asserting that it is the “next Fortnite.” In fact, they’ve gone further than that. They’re pretty much saying, “Move over, Fortnite.” In truth though, Fortnite is actually doing really well. In fact, the game recently set a couple of new records.
Epic Games Confirmed Two Amazing Fortnite Stats
In a recent Tweet, Geoff Keighley shared a couple of impressive Fortnite statistics.
Epic Games has now confirmed what I reported: the @marshmellomusic concert hit a peak of 10.7 million concurrent viewers. In addition last Saturday Fortnite hit 7.6 million concurrent players in game, the best “non event” day in game history. pic.twitter.com/dY7CBBmPxx

The text reads, “Epic Games has now confirmed what I reported: the @marshmellomusic concert hit a peak of 10.7 million concurrent viewers. In addition last Saturday Fortnite hit 7.6 million concurrent players in game, the best “non event” day in game history.”
Just how amazing are these numbers? Apparently Rod Stewart’s Copacabana Beach show on New Year’s Eve back in 1994 tops the list for highest attendance ever with a crowd of 3.5 million showing up. Epic’s Marshmello in-game concert virtual crowd of 10.7 million obviously is far in excess of that figure. It was also an event attendance record for Fortnite.
And lest you think Epic needs to rely on in-game events to draw players, think again. 7.6 million concurrent players in the game on February 16th is yet another record. At no other time have more players been concurrently online in Fortnite outside of events.
Apex Legends is an awesome game, but so is Fortnite. They are different enough from one another to draw different players. But there will also be those who choose to enjoy them both. We predict that both Apex Legends and Fortnite will continue to grow. Check back soon for more Fortnite news.
