Epic Games has revealed that Fortnite Battle Royale will be getting PS4 Pro 4K TV support in the future. This is great news for players who have the more powerful PS4 console and a 4K TV connected to it. The support will allow for higher resolutions when using the PS4 Pro on a 4K TV while playing the game.
This was announced in the most recent State of Development Fortnite update from the developer that was released earlier today alongside the week seven challenges for season five. It is an extremely long and detailed as always update from Epic Games that is certainly worth reading through in its entirety if you are interested on what’s next for the ever-popular Battle Royale game.
The part about PS4 is actually really small in comparison to everything else, only briefly going over this announcement. You can find everything that Epic Games said regarding Fortnite on PS4 Pro below:
“For those of you playing Fortnite on a PS4 Pro, in the near future we’re adding support for greater than 1080p res when connected to a 4K TV. Plan out that next drop with even more clarity!”
There are a couple of things to break down from this information. The most noteworthy detail beyond the general announcement itself is how it simply says a resolution greater than 1080p. This certainly lends credence to the fact that Fortnite won’t have full 4K support on PS4 Pro but certainly more than 1080p HD.
This isn’t totally surprising but it is important to not get your hopes up too soon about total 4K support on PS4. Interestingly enough, Fortnite already supports 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on Xbox One X. Stay tuned for the reveal of when PS4 Pro support will arrive for users in the near future.
