What Nintendo game helped you get through a tough time, and how?
Scorpion replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
Playing *Animal Crossing* during a tough time helped me find comfort and escape. Creating my virtual island, relaxing with simple tasks, and enjoying peaceful moments provided solace and reminded me that small joys can make a big difference in difficult times. -
How do you feel when you revisit an old Nintendo title after many years?
Scorpion replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
Revisiting an old Nintendo game after years brings a mix of nostalgia and excitement. It’s wonderful to relive memories and see how the game has aged, reminding me of past adventures and the timeless joy Nintendo games continue to deliver. -
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a sequel to the popular Phantom Brave series that started out in the early 2000s. I never played the original game, but it seems to be popular. This one seems to be a direct sequel to the original game from back in 2004. It's currently available for the Switch, PS4, and PS5, and just released on PC last week. Check out the trailer below.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is an upcoming action adventure game where you play in the world of Game of Thrones. It looks like you work closely with Jon Snow himself. It looks like a decent enough action game. It releases May 21st 2025 for the PC (Steam & Epic Games), and mobile (android, iOS). Doesn't look like there is going to be a console version of the game. I guess it's already available on steam via early access. Has anyone played it yet? Is it worth checking out? I see the reviews on steam are mixed right now though. Will you be checking it out?

Sometimes when I play a game, I wish to just be able to relax and be creative. With the side activities in games such as Animal Crossing, this gives me the opportunity to either focus on the main game or instead, choose to chill, relax, explore and discover. I have always loved the searching for fossils and the fishing side of Animal Crossing, you never know what you could find and that adds to the fun of the game.

How do you feel about the difficulty curve in some of Nintendo’s games?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
I have always been a gamer who loves the challenges I am faced with in games. I don't mind the whole chill side of things as that can be nice if you are looking to relax and not worry about anything. Having those challenges though I feel adds to the experience of the game and that is something I will always enjoy seeing in Nintendo games. -
Animal Crossing: New Horizons I believe is the game that best captures the magic of the franchise. Previous games in the franchise were great, don't get me wrong but after playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I can see a huge difference and felt there was more to New Horizons than previous games. New Horizons is for sure my favourite in the franchise.

Which Nintendo console had the most impact on your childhood?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
The Super Nintendo was the console that had the most impact on my childhood. I always remember my brothers and I getting the Super Nintendo for Christmas one year and many memories were made. One memory that sticks out for me was when we all used to play Yoshi's Island and my mum used to join us and help out. -
Is Handheld Gaming Superior to Console Gaming in Certain Contexts?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
Console gaming will always be king when it comes to video games due to how powerful they are and what they can give us in terms of high-quality games and great graphics. Handheld gaming will always be convenient if you love to game but can't always be on your console. I have lost count of the amount of times my Nintendo Switch has come in clutch when I have been travelling, waiting for appointments, and even just wanting to be in the garden on warm days where my console would not be possible. -
What Nintendo game helped you get through a tough time, and how?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
I remember when we were in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns were pretty tight. It was a shock to have to distance ourselves from family and friends we did not live with and even though the weather was nice and that helped, it was a rough time. I remember Animal Crossing: New Horizons was newly launched that year and I was able to snag it with money I had received for my birthday. I would play for hours without even realizing and that helped take my mind off things. -
I am all for Nintendo supporting more cross-platform play with other consoles, I know they have done it with some games and it has opened up the opportunity for so many to be able to play certain multiplayer games with their friends despite the console they are on. Cross-platform play I feel is the future for gaming so I hope Nintendo consider supporting cross-platform more.

I will admit, as much as I do love my Nintendo Switch and do have the online access, I don't play online as much as I thought I would. My kids tend to play more online than I do due to me purchasing the family plan for a year. My kids play a lot of Nintendo Switch Sports online which they have hours of fun doing. If I do ever get online to play anything on my Nintendo Switch, it is usually Smash Bros, Fall Guys or sometimes Nintendo Switch Sports.

How do you feel when you revisit an old Nintendo title after many years?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Nintendo
Whenever I revisit old Nintendo titles after many years, the first thing I notice is how nostalgic I feel being back on a game that I used to play as a kid when I had less to worry about, and more time to have fun. I always miss the whole so many lives and you have to start again so that always brings back a lot of childhood memories of spending hours trying to get past levels and bosses. - Yesterday

I don't know, after trying Meta Quest and other top-of-the-line VR headsets, I'm a bit off-put by the PSVR2 🤨 They should really try to focus on reiterating it as soon as possible.

What’s one Xbox game you’d love to see remastered for the latest console?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Xbox
I would love to see Simpsons Hit and Run and Simpsons Road Rage remastered for the latest console. I remember when I first played these two games on the very first Xbox. I spent hours going through the game and completing everything. The game is such a classic and I am shocked that we have not yet has any remasters to the latest consoles of these two games as I know they are requested by many. -
Cross-save has been a life saver! As someone who has a console at my set up and also another console in the house that the whole family uses, having cross-save has allowed me to pick up right where I left off on another console rather than having to wait until I had time to be at a specific console to continue my save. With the possibility of an Xbox Handheld and also with cloud gaming and the ability to play games through your phone now, cross-save allows you to pick up where you left off and I love that!

What game on Xbox Game Pass do you think deserves a sequel?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Xbox
I have to agree with you on this one. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a great game and one I loved playing through from start to finish and would love to see a sequel to it. I have read that there is nothing at least as of yet about any sequel to this game which is a shame but I do hope they consider it at some point. -

I have always decided on games for my Xbox based on my past experiences with certain games within the same franchise and also on reviews too. A lot of the time, if I am unsure of a game and I don't feel I am getting enough from reviews to justify buying it yet, I will wait until there is a sale and then jump on the game.

Xbox Series X was my choice, mainly driven by the fact I have been a huge Xbox fan for a very long time now. Over the years I have gone from the Xbox to the 360, over to the Xbox One and the Xbox One X and now to the Series X and I have never had any issues with the consoles and being that I prefer much of the games that were once exclusive to Xbox, it made sense for me to go with the Series X.
-
I have always preferred the Xbox controller over the PlayStation controller but I feel that is because I am able to handle the Xbox controller better due to its design and the layout. The PlayStation controller I always found to be uncomfortable when I was using it and it never help for long gaming sessions.

What accessory do you think would enhance the realism of racing games on Xbox?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Xbox
I have to agree with this. The steering wheel does give a more realistic feel when it comes to racing games but having a full racing cockpit with motion simulation would for sure transform the experience a great deal. I do believe that these are available but they can be quite pricey. -

I'm definitely excited, but my backlog is already kind of deep, I'm still going through PSVR1 and other flat games.
