I have always decided on games for my Xbox based on my past experiences with certain games within the same franchise and also on reviews too. A lot of the time, if I am unsure of a game and I don't feel I am getting enough from reviews to justify buying it yet, I will wait until there is a sale and then jump on the game.

Xbox Series X was my choice, mainly driven by the fact I have been a huge Xbox fan for a very long time now. Over the years I have gone from the Xbox to the 360, over to the Xbox One and the Xbox One X and now to the Series X and I have never had any issues with the consoles and being that I prefer much of the games that were once exclusive to Xbox, it made sense for me to go with the Series X.
-
I have always preferred the Xbox controller over the PlayStation controller but I feel that is because I am able to handle the Xbox controller better due to its design and the layout. The PlayStation controller I always found to be uncomfortable when I was using it and it never help for long gaming sessions.

What accessory do you think would enhance the realism of racing games on Xbox?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Xbox
I have to agree with this. The steering wheel does give a more realistic feel when it comes to racing games but having a full racing cockpit with motion simulation would for sure transform the experience a great deal. I do believe that these are available but they can be quite pricey. -

I'm definitely excited, but my backlog is already kind of deep, I'm still going through PSVR1 and other flat games.

Looking at all the games that have released over the years for Xbox and going by thoughts of what would be best for someone to try out if they are fairly new to Xbox, I would have to say that Halo: The Master Chief Collection, The Gears of War games, and also the Forza Horizon games are the best games that I would recommend to someone looking. You can't go wrong with any of those, especially Halo.

I have always been a fan of Xbox and even though I have used PlayStation in the past, given the choice I would always go for Xbox. Due to my preference, between the two I find at least for myself and my needs that Xbox is the better option.

I couldn't agree more about Forza Horizon 5, it definitely strikes the perfect balance between fun and challenge and with the open world too, there is so much to explore. I have spent many hours on Forza Horizon 5 just chilling out and relaxing and only doing anything challenging if I have felt I want to.

How do you feel about the evolution of Xbox’s digital marketplace?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Xbox
Xbox and their digital marketplace has for sure improved over time and I personally love the layout of the marketplace now on Xbox and how smoothly it works and how easily you can find an purchase games or add on's you are looking for. I remember quite a few years ago, the marketplace seemed quite all over the place and in some cases, used to have issues but the improvements are just brilliant. - Today

Unbeatable is a new rhythm adventure game from D-CELL Games, they had a demo that came out for this years back called Unbeatable [White] Label. You can actually play that one for free here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1290490/UNBEATABLE_white_label/ But it seems the full on game is releasing sometime in 2025 and you can see more on that on their steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2240620/UNBEATABLE/ There's even a demo for it.

Peglin is a pachinko rogue like from the team at Red Nexus Games. Never thought I'd hear about a rogue-like game that is based around the popular game Pachinko, but here we are. It looks like it'd be fun, so idk, check out the trailer below. It is already out on PC and the Switch, but is also coming out for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in May.

How do you feel about the overall reliability of the Xbox Game Pass service?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Xbox
I can't fault the Xbox Game Pass service at all and I find it to be a great service and very reliable. I haven't had many issues at all when using the Game Pass service from Xbox, occasionally there may be a slight issue but it is usually addressed and fixed quite quickly. -
Did you mean the Xbox Series X? Between Xbox One X and PS5, they are both completely different console in different generations with PS5 being current-gen and Xbox One X being previous-gen. When it comes to between the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, I much prefer the Xbox Series X but that is because I have always been a huge fan of Xbox as opposed to PlayStation.

I remember playing the first Wreckfest and loved the game. Anything with a destruction derby vibe has always been a favourite of mine, would play the first Wreckfest for hours. I haven't played Wreckfest 2 yet but will be doing so when I am able to grab the game.

This was another game that caught my eye at Nintendo Direct. Growing up playing on Nintendo, Donkey Kong was always one game I loved a lot, and seeing we are getting a new game on the Nintendo Switch 2 I am super excited for. The game itself and the graphics look amazing so this will be guaranteed pick up for me.

This game looks interesting but I will admit, the one hit one kill mechanic caught my eye. I have always said how I would love to see video games become a little more realistic in terms of how things happen in the game as they would in real life. Will be checking this one out for sure.

Fast Fusion looks amazing and it was one of the games that caught my eye for the Nintendo Switch 2. I don't know how long it will be before I manage to snag a Nintendo Switch 2 but I know this game will be one of the games I grab on day one for me. I have always enjoyed racing games and this one looks promising.
-
I have always enjoyed point and click games and this one does look interesting and like one I would play. I usually do not mind the setting or theme for a game as long as it keeps me interested and this one does look promising. Will be a game I will be checking out for sure.

Have you ever had a game you just couldn't beat?
Shortie replied to Scorpion's topic in Gaming Forum
Cuphead would be my game that I have had and could not complete. I remember seeing so many playing the game on live streams and knowing the kind of game it was and how difficult it was, when I saw it in sale, I snagged it. I played it for around half an hour before rage quitting and not going back. I do still have the game should I ever want to try again. -
With the way video games are released today, some either fully working and others broken, full of bugs and even severe issues, I do feel that video game prices are quite steep. I can understand the developers wanting to make money but over the years, video games have sky rocketed to prices that are in some cases, unaffordable for some, and for those who are able to purchase them, there are many times when they feel let down or are not happy with the finished product.

I am always happy knowing that there are a great range of games for children to play on PC and even on console depending on how they prefer to play video games. Minecraft is one that springs to mind for me when it comes to children and games to play on PC and even console. Minecraft is great for learning and fun with a lot of exploration. With the creative mode, it allows them to free roam and have fun doing whatever their mind desires.

Has anyone walked in on you during an embarrassing moment in a game?
Shortie replied to Scorpion's topic in Gaming Forum
I wouldn't say that anyone walked in on me during an embarrassing moment when I was playing a video game but I have had family members in the room at the time and also been live streaming when something embarrassing has happened to me. Usually it is me dying in a silly way. Fortnite and Destiny 2 were two games where I would die and it could have been avoidable, sure got me and everyone else laughing though! -
The longest time I spent playing a video game in one day was when I sat and played Fortnite for 9 hours straight back in 2021 with a few breaks just to get up, stretch my legs, do what I needed and to grab a drink or food. I remember this was when I was live streaming frequently and I was enjoying playing so much, me and my daughter just kept playing.
