  1. This has become an issue since Skyrim I think where the enemies are mostly draugr. Why are devs prioritizing big open worlds and filling it with very little enemy variety? I get that it cost money to make new skeletons/assets but so does creating landmass and new areas. I think we're at the point where open worlds are just too big for their own good. There needs to be a balance between exploring areas and then actually being excited about the mystery of what new enemy type awaits you there. This could also apply to loot. Make sure the loot you get is meaningful but that's for another thread. I think by just having a good amount enemy variety, it could potentially spice up a mediocre combat system. *Cough* Are devs too focused on making their games bigger for the sake of marketing and losing sight of what makes a game fun?

    Hi guys!

Hi everyone! I just found this forum through FP and it looked pretty amazing, and like a great community so I thought I'd join. I don't give much about myself IRL away online, although it probably all comes out as I post. But just a basic run down. I'm a husband, father of three, nearing 30 years old. I'm not the most up-to-date with gaming, I do still buy the occasional game for my N64 though. I do think it'd be good to get back into though, given the ages my children are now at! And that's me! If you need anything else, I do have an ask me thread that I'm about to start.

  3. Noru

    Hello everybody!

Hello! My name's Noru, I'm from Austria and 22. I came here because I was looking for videogame forums, since they kinda got rare. Well, forums in general do, huh. Well, yeah, I like videgames, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I'm especially a fan of Nintendo, since I grew up with it, but I also do own a PS4.. I just forget about actually playing, haha. Well, I got it three months ago and was always busy, so there's that. I really wanna try playing more on it, haha. Else than that there's one MMORPG I'm playing for several years now and I recently got into it again after a long break. Besides that I also really like to draw and do other creative stuff. And well, I guess cooking is one of my hobbies as well. I also got some birds as pets so I will never be bored (and have some wonderful screams to listen to). I'm not sure if there's anything else that's interesting to know, so yeah... Have a good day!

    CS:GO

Yep, that seems fair enough 😛 But still, it has also zombie servers and other modes (can't really help you out because I do not play it now in CSGO. Used to play that in CS:S back when I was not a competitive player). But yeah, not a history campaign, and I highly doubt it will have one. The closest thing to "history campaign" is when Valve releases an operation. But that's more of a mission operation rather than a campaign mode.

  6. Just the ones I enjoy. Not a huge fan of the original.

  7. I'm pretty sure Zelda is a staple. Just imagine the backlash if they tried to do this without Zelda. Good list! You named some I had forgotten about that I would add to mine. (Donkey Kong 64 and Yoshi's Story mainly.) Is it weird that I had never heard of Conker's Bad Fur day until, like, a couple of months ago. I'm astounded by how expensive used cartridges of that game are...Must have been pretty good. Also why Mario Party 2 and 3, but not the original? I don't even know anything about 3...I never got it, because the consensus in my childhood household (which I was on board with) was that 2 was trash.

  8. Yeah and as repetitive as Fallout 4 gets, once you get into that rhythm of looting and crafting and building settlements, it's quite addictive ain't it?

  9. Yeah, man. What kind of idiot would accidentally shoot their own team mates in their first game!? *whistles and walks away sheepishly*

  10. That’s one reason why I sometimes glean more enjoyment from lower budget RPGs like ELEX, Arcania, Risen, Bound By Flame, The Technomancer - even Dark Souls to a certain extent, though that’s a series that’s got a decent-sized budget - as these titles often have compelling bestiaries. Good enemy variety makes a big difference. It makes the world feel more authentically alive. I still love Skyrim, though. It’s still got a solid roster of enemies. Wish there were more special hand-crafted mini-bosses here and there.

    Racist Watch

Aye, both, sadly. 😔 Personally, I’m a British-filipino (my mum’s from the Philippines, my dad’s English and I was born in Wales). As most inter-racial folks have suffered in one way or another, racism has affected my life growing up in the UK. I wish I could say it was getting better, but I feel - like most things in life - it actually ebbs and flows. Anyway, I try to be positive. Otherwise it just becomes another thing that gets me down about the world/global climate at the moment. 😔

  12. ^This. It's a must play game regardless what you're into. It's also on Steam for cheap so you can also get it there.

  13. I know, the wit in the humour has me laughing every time. The choose your own adventure style of gameplay (though you have to follow the preset trajectory in a manner of speaking.) Guys. If you haven't played this game, get onto GOG and buy it now.

  15. Been enjoying the hell out of it! My initial thoughts: MP is a blast Zombies is hella fun Specialist HQ is interesting My only complaints: No crossbow... 😞 No Dead Ops Arcade... 😞 God damn, team killing ruins the fun of playing Blackout. Will only do Solo from now on until that shit is fixed.
