Most tedious sequence in any game?
Aerielle del Rosario reacted to StaceyPowers for a topic
What are the most tedious parts of games you’ve played? Here are some for me: -The puzzle in Myst where you have to navigate through a maze using sounds. -The entire Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta DLC (I didn’t hate it … it just was quite long and unvaried) -The Circle tower in Dragon Age Origins (I actually kind of like the part in the Fade, but I have to admit while watching someone else play through it, the Circle is a bit tedious) -The boss battle at the end of the Legacy DLC in Dragon Age II. I am sure there are more I could be listing, but that’s all off the top of my head that really stands out. What about for you? @The Blackangel @killamch89 @kingpotato @skyfire @DylanC @Alyxx @Aerielle del Rosario1 point -

Got The First 3
killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
I picked up the first 3 Devil May Cry games today. I'm looking forward to trying them out. I just had a few questions about them. is this the type of series that you need to play them in order to really get what's all going on? Also which one does everyone say is the best of the first 4 entries? Why do you say it's the best? Is there anything specific I should know before I dive in head first? I'm sure I'll like them, as I really like DMC4. I can't say I'm particularly good at DMC4, but that doesn't stop me from liking it. If there's any other info I should have to really get me ready to take on the entire quadrilogy, let me know.1 point -

I'm not sure. I mean, I tend not to watch anything that doesn't interest me. But I suppose I'm usually bored by most game shows and reality shows? Can you elaborate on what you mean by "type of world?" Are you referencing what destroyed it (i.e. nukes, zombies?)1 point -
Indeed. Agreed on the difficulty part. The games today focus more on graphics and less difficult and also there seems to be cheat thingy that pretty much kills recent series of disney games.1 point

New ports of old games costing full price
killamch89 reacted to kingpotato for a topic
On some cases it did happen that they had to start from scratch like with Kingdom hearts 1 & 2 remakes, since the developers lost the main codes. But yeah if you already have the codes the full price is to much unless is a complete remake like with Re21 point -

What games feature the coolest weather?
StaceyPowers reacted to killamch89 for a topic
I'd have to agree with your choices as well because I am struggling to thing of any other games with great dynamic weather features - One thing I'd like to see implemented in a game is it goes from a perfectly sunny day to a huge tornado wrecking everything in the blink of an eye. That'd spice up any open-world game - you could use those storms as a way to escape enemies.1 point -

No. I am stuck in the Game Maker and GODot engine. I have yet to figure out how to do various rooms and scene jumps.1 point -

In MMOs, do you play yourself?
killamch89 reacted to kingpotato for a topic
I agree, on any videogame that I've played before my character will always look like me or will have my same beliefs, even when replaying a multichoice mmo I will always follow the same path that I'm comfortable with.1 point -
What game had a difficult beginning?
Aerielle del Rosario reacted to DylanC for a topic
I agree with you as Dark Souls is definitely a tough game to get into. Stick with it though as it’s excellent. If you get stuck just watch a walkthrough (like we talked about in another thread, lol). I also found Risen 3 to be quite tricky at the start, but I think it’s just getting used to the controls and the combat.1 point -
What game had a difficult beginning?
Aerielle del Rosario reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
Blaster Master was hard from the start. The hardest part was navigating the levels, finding the boss, then finding the entrance to the next level. And just because you’re in a level and have beaten its boss, doesn’t mean you’re in the right level to advance to the next one. For example the entrance to level 4 is found hidden in level 1.1 point -

Like? I have no good memories. Not a single good memory. Dislike? There’s not enough time left in eternity to scratch the surface. But the number one thing I hated as a child and grew to hate more and more as I grew up is my bloodline. There’s a reason I’m a clinically diagnosed sociopath. Add raging misanthropy on top of it, and you’ll know now why I keep all relationships online. I don’t trust myself. You can trust me until you fuck me over. Then I will be haunting you until I have destroyed your entire life and world. I take vengeance to an extreme that most can’t fathom and the rest simply don’t want to.1 point -

I'd use my money to hire Ken Levine to make something as awesome as Bioshock. Don't much care what it is--just something with as much thought put into the world, story, characters, design/art, and social/political/philosophical content of the game.1 point -

Aerielle del Rosario reacted to killamch89 for a topic
If I had the opportunity and resources to create a game, I would make an open-world game with lots of war and chaos where the player must be vigilant at all times. I'd create a progression system so instead of just going up levels, your character gradually gains primary and secondary stats from battle - Wait a minute! that sounds like my Modded Skyrim game😂.1 point -

If I had the opportunity and the money to make a game it will an open world action-story Pirates, with the naval combat of Assasins creed 4 but with a much better story and way more customization and exploration. And of course some fantasy like the Kraken , ghosts and Sirens. Well basically a Pirates of the Caribbean Open world game 😆1 point
