I appreciate that and know you mean well by the message but you joined the forum 10 minutes ago and have 5 posts. There are many many members who would be considered for a moderator spot ahead of you. Again, I appreciate everyone's feedback regarding moderators...I'll move forward with something very soon. I know I have been putting it off.

@DC made a choice today, and it was a good one. Hopefully the one extra mod is all the forum will need. But as @Crazycrab said, there are several of us willing to lend a hand if we’re needed.

Hi everyone. This is a polite reminder that the VGR forums has a separate section to debate politics, and for a reason. I understand that the issue described in the OP has relevance to tech and, in a hypothetical manner, gaming as well. With that said though, and reading through the more recent responses, I feel the original topic has started to get lost within the politics surrounding it. So I politely ask, can we please turn the topic back to the specifics of the original post? People are more than free to debate politics, but just in the correct section of the forum. Thank you.

There are several of us that are willing including some that have experience. It's ultimately DC's desicion and I respect that.

I have to agree. The rate of increase in spam posts is staggering. We all know you bust your ass to take care of this forum, and we do appreciate it. It may seem thankless or go unmentioned at times, but we all do. But like @Shagger said, you’re just one man. I would honestly recommend picking two that you feel you could trust not to abuse the authority and give it a trial run for a week or two at least. Then go from there. With 3 staff the amount of spam could be handled quicker and it would take some of the load off your shoulders.

Thanks for following-up. I am going to continue controlling it myself for now. I check the forums multiple times per day and delete spam very quickly. I also review reported posts. I'll still consider bringing in a moderator or two as the forum continues to grow.

When I'm bored I clean my room, organize the dirty clothes where they are supposed to go.. Put the the color in one hamper, and the whites in another. I also work out. Whenever I'm free I do my regular 1 hour exercise.

Thank you very much but I cannot take the credit. I really don't have the skill or the eyesight for things like fine soldering. I found a website that repair classic systems (mostly 8 bit computers like the Spectrum, C64, Amstrad CPC, BBC, Atari800 etc). they repair them and then recap them (replace the capacitors as old ones can leak and damage your motheroard). The prices are reasonable and you get it back in 3-4 weeks and it's guaranteed for a year.

I've been gaming since my mother bought me an Atari 2600 VCS for Christmas in 1978. but bored with gaming? I don't recall it happening much but when it does I tend to spend a couple of days either reading or watching videos on youtube. but it almost never happens. Even if I get sick of a new game I'm playing and there are no new games out that I want, I just play some retro games on my restored Commodore 64 or on Mame or a ZX Spectrum emulator.

Read a book. I recommend Hyperion by Dan Simmons. It's pretty crazy good.If you're sick of games, take a break from games. There's no reason to force yourself to do an activity you're sick of doing.

Sometimes when i got bored on playing games i usually watch Youtube or Listening music on Spotify. Taking a short break and have a power nap after i gotta go play again.

Your right, and that is another thing that is currently under discussion. Right now @DC moderates the forum pretty much by himself and he does it well... but he obviously can't monitor it 24 hours a day so a lot of BS slips through the cracks.
