Shaggy & Scooby Doo. 🙂 😛 To smoke a bowl in the mystery machine, talk about crimes and the rest of those meddling kids. Bonus. I get to see a talking dog2 points -
ES Oblivion: Is there a faster way to level up armorer skill?
Withywarlock and one other reacted to Shagger for a topic
Repairing heavy armour will take more hammer strikes than light armour, so one would use more hammers, but aside from mods and console commands (in other words, cheating), the only way to do it is to fucking do it. Sorry.2 points -

When built-in mechanics feel like cheating
StaceyPowers reacted to Withywarlock for a topic
The Elder Scrolls games, prior to Skyrim at least, had overwhelming balance issues. But then, RPGs are at their best when they're not balanced and sterile, but feel as organic as ES and the like do. "Clever use of game mechanics" appears to be a problem with the Soulslike genre, including ARPGs that play pretend and call themselves Soulslike, but healing-over-time mechanics make the game significantly easier. Lords of the Fallen could be cheesed with a spell that could heal more damage than enemies could deal over its duration, and heavy armour combined with the endurance to wear it also prevented enemies from doing any damage at all in some instances. Remnant: From the Ashes has healing over time cooldowns and consumable items, but are much harder to manage so kudos to the devs for that I guess. And in Dark Souls II the ability to move while consuming a cumulative (not to mention cheap and in infinite supply) healing item makes the deliberate, emphasised moveset of the bosses and enemies all the more noticeable, and avoidable.1 point -
When built-in mechanics feel like cheating

I wish this was in Skyrim - we had to wait until we got mods to have the ability to create our own spells. Some combinations are so flipping OP though, I wish the NPCs could utilize this feature as well just to see what they'd come up with.1 point -
What makes you play or avoid a remake of a game you love?
killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
Nostalgia mostly would block me from a remake. Curiosity would bring me to a remake. With FF8, they did a great job, and in my opinion improved the game. With Links Awakening, I was sickened by it. Sure I play it because since getting my Switch, I forget to bring my GameBoy all the time. But it was a remake that never should have happened. That was a nostalgia and curiosity mix. I rarely touch it, mainly because I just can't bring myself to. But with 90-something DDL's on my Switch and around 25 cartridges, I have no shortage of game options. I also have BOTW, but it's having a hell of a time keeping my interest.1 point -
Best video game remakes?
killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
FF8 had the best remake. I love it. The graphics are more crisp, the 3X speed option, and the rare items that were previously only available through a Pocket Station are now available in game. Also, not having to wait for Diablos to learn enc-none is a nice touch. The one remake that I almost can't stand is Links Awakening. It's so much of a better game on the GameBoy. Sure it's good on the Switch, but it should have stayed where it was.1 point -

Destroy all humans is a classic! I just wish they'd give you an open world to kind of wreak havoc on the human without any objectives at times.1 point -
What makes you play or avoid a remake of a game you love?
killamch89 reacted to Reality vs Adventure for a topic
I'm interested in Destroy All Humans remake. I really liked it on ps2. For me, I'm a sucker for graphics. There really isn't any specific thing to make me avoid or want to play a remake of a game I love. Wanting to play it out of curiosity and the graphics I guess is what does it for me. So if there isn't really any major upgrade, then I'll pass too. They better add some maps, longer story, more characters, or something. They better make it with a bunch of DLC already added with gear. You listening (TLOU)? 🤞1 point -
In an article form Video Games Chronicle, we have Naughty Dog's co-president Evan Wells confirming that a new Jack and Dexter game is not currently in development. During a chat with Insomniac Game's Ted Price, Evan was asked if they get requests for a new J&D game, and of course, he answered that they do all the time, but confirmed thay are not currently working on one. He said Naughty Dog is more focused on new games rather than "endless sequels". That's amusing given the utterly pointless PS5 remake of the The Last of Us being discussed here. Honestly, a new J&D would be a better use of the time and resources Naughty Dog has that is now almost certainly being spent on TLOU remake. I hope for thier sake they're telling the truth when this is about working on new games rather than TLOU remake, because if they're not, people will have every right to be pissed, especially the J&D fan base.1 point

Why would they be making a new TLOU remake then? These people are so full of it! I totally agree that I'd be more excited by a new Jak & Daxter and it'd definitely excite a lot more PS owners. That's exactly what I'm saying! I'm curious as to why the interviewer never hit back with that question. I get the feeling that a lot of times, gaming media are so patronizing of gaming companies instead of really asking some critical questions of their practices.1 point

What two video game characters would you invite over for dinner?
Reality vs Adventure reacted to m76 for a topic
It's really hard to decide. There are many factors. Do I go by who is the most interesting, or who would be cool to party with? Or who would I get along best with? Or perhaps who I would like to romance? 😏 I really don't know. Can they be non-human? It'd be awkward to invite a robot for dinner.1 point
