  1. Vegans on social media. It’s like every single post they make is required to mention the fact that they’re vegan. Nobody cares, nobody is impressed, you’re not better than others so just shut up and eat your kale and tofu in silence.

  2. I once heard a teenage boy say almost 25 years ago that if you buy the wrong console "your mother wants to be gay." So if you buy the wrong console that makes it your fault your mom is gay. My hometown was usually smarter than that, but the late '90's were apparently the nadir of Eastern Massachusetts. This was back when I was in New England.

  4. The only real thing about reality TV that is good is when a reality show dies.

  5. When people don’t get the clue. For example when you cut someone out of your life, but they don’t fuck off.

  6. These days, never. I used to be purely nocturnal. Now I fight to keep a diurnal schedule. But the MD wears me out so bad that I’m in bed by 7:00PM or 8:00PM at the latest. I typically sleep until anywhere from 5:00AM to 7:00AM.

  7. Thanks for the advice. I'm actually a really hard core gearhead, I watch all kinds of motorsports, I've been playing GT since about 1999. I know about the out-in-out method if that's what you mean. You can also diamond corners, or you can just run the high line. Mostly I'll use the out-in-out method, but if I'm struggling I will search around. As for luck, I like to leave nothing to chance if I can. Some try to beat GT games with no mods, but in my mind that just leaves too much too chance for me to feel comfortable.

  8. I heard one kid say two things that made me want to slap him. He was so entitled that he said, as if it was a proven fact, that anyone who plays a system other than Playstation was stupid and should either be shot or forcibly sterilized. He then said that anyone who didn't upgrade and drop the previous system the day of launch for the new one was a "complete fucking retard". I wish I'd had a baseball bat with me. The little bastard had to have been around 20 or so. So you would think he would have a brain cell or two. His parents are obviously both karens.

  9. So true and that's why I don't necessarily want the pain feedback thing at all. I know quite a few people like that but I'm also fine with the regular feedback as well.

  10. Ah okay - I got it. My only advice for Gran Turismo games in general is to learn how to use racing lines so that way you can come out of corners at the optimal speed but you also need an element of luck in those games as well.

  11. A restart option in case you mess up so that you can achieve the desirable outcome you want in any given situation. Also, the ability to instantly heal by drinking potions or snapping a finger back into place like Far Cry.

  12. Something that adds a new dimension to the gameplay mechanics of a particular series that completely changes the way that game feels and in the process, separates it from other games in the earlier series as well as others in its genre.

  13. In Living Color was hilarious. I remember they did a spoof of the Alien scene when the little one busted out of the guys chest. Jim Carrey (James Carrey as he was known then) did an amazing job on it. "Don't kill it! He's got my eyes!"

  14. I love documentaries. Like you said, if it's based on fact, then it's worth watching. If it's based on speculation, and they say that it's speculation, then I'll give it a look. If it's just a lot of bullshit, then I'll pass.

  15. I personally don't see lootboxes and in-game purchases as gimmicks. I see them as greed features that devs try to sneak in to milk as much money out of us as they can. To me gimmicks are goofy things that became a fad. Like if games started featuring characters doing the TikTok dance. If that happens however, I will never buy another game again, unless it's an old cartridge system game.

  17. I'm sure I'm with you on those. Checkpoint saves are a simple convenience that allows the player to not loose an insane amount of progress while immersed in a game, thus in a state where it can be very easy to forget to save. And weapon wheels I see as a quick, cleaver and convenient way of switching weapons without having to use more immersion breaking and clumsy menus, especially on console where hot-keying is often not possible or convenient to implement.

  18. I think mix of both. I am not much investing into new things and take time before those devices mature. so definitely not a luxury but I do get them eventually so mix of both.

  19. This thread pretty much reflects my expectations. For the vast majority of people. In the end, it is little more than an arbitrary hobby and not something one needs to survive everyday life. But of course, there are exceptions, such as people in a similar situation as @The Blackangel. It can mean so much more than just a mere hobby in general as well. A catalyst for social interaction and expression. If it wasn't for gaming, it's very likely none of us would even be here. Yes, gaming is, at it it's core, a luxury and a hobby and nothing more, but that does not diminish how important it can be.

  20. I've never known of a forum that would allow account deletion. Even if an account is no longer being used, there's a number of reasons why it still has to exist. It's not a practical thing to implement. Suspending, restricting and banning accounts is already available and deleting an account completely would delete all of that individuals posts including topics they started, so other peoples posts could be lost as well. It can cause issues with security as it could free up previously banned e-mail addresses and posts already made from a "deleted" account would also be impossible to reference and track. Not to mention if the individual behind the account decided they wanted to come back they would have to pass the security check again and start from zero posts. The only pieces of personal information that is stored on VGR is an e-mail address and the forum password and they are secure. That's why when bots and spammers attack the site they have to leave links for you click on because it's difficult to get what they need from the site on it's own. Still, as well as the staying safe online advice posted on VGR, here is a couple of tips to ensure that there is no risk to abandoning an account on VGR if you, or anyone, does not want to participate anymore. Use a unique password for VGR. If in the unlikely event your VGR login info was stolen having a password that you only use here will keep other accounts and services you use with that e-mail safe. If you ever decide to leave VGR, change your password to something unique before leaving the site behind. If you go to a log in page for anything, not just VGR, always check the URL of the site before logging in, especially if opening the link from an email. This is good advice for everything you may do online. If something doesn't look right (odd characters, a word misspelled), do NOT log in. Delete cookies for the site from your browser. This will mean someone using the same computer would have to input the password manually to log in again. So whilst account deletion is not something that is likely to ever be implemented here, please be assured that there is no reason to be concerned. We want our door to always remain open for people to come back and even if they don't, their contribution is still a valuable and important part of the communities' history and should be preserved. I hope that helped you out @AndreiMirfi, but if you or anyone else has any further questions on the issue, please let either myself or @DC know and we'll do our best to help you.
