I heard about this from BigfryTV a few days ago. In a way I kinda hate that this is becoming such a hot topic as that is likely going add the the people actually supporting this project even though it's mostly bad publicity. All the bad things that can happen with a Kickstarter have happened here. Broken promises, a crappy alpha that barely works, lack of original coding, asset flipping, stupidity unattainable goals, lying devs and way more backers and support than it ever deserved. The thing that really gets me know is them hiring kids as moderators for thier discord. They were basically coerced to do the dirty work of banning people just for asking questions then to ultimately be blamed by the devs for doing so. Basically, hired because they obviously wouldn't know what they're doing, would follow instructions without question to then believe it was thier fault when they were thrown under the bus. It's rotten to the core. I'd highly recommend Bigfry's YouTube channel to stay informed about shady indie developers like this. Don't fall into the trap.

I'm not looking to get rich, or even gain some kind of huge following. Or any following for that matter. I'm doing something fun, that I thought people here might be interested in checking out. But I'm a bit of a perfectionist at times, so if it doesn't meet my standards then it's not ready. You can't call it a cake if it's still a bowl of batter.

I looked because I could not believe it, but to you credit it's true but it's not common practice. What YoYogames is doing with their Gamemaker Console licenses is fucking bullshit. It's the equivalent of paying a subscription for Netflix but then Microsoft gating that 3rd party service behind XBox Live Gold. Even if you pay them their fee you still need to go through the same registration process Microsoft, Sony, and/or Nintendo and pay their fees! Their literary charging developers for something they don't provide. If I were a dev, I wouldn't touch their shit with a flag pole. FUCK THESE GUYS! Yes, publishing for consoles is expensive because of publishing fees as well the one off cost of development kits but neither of these have anything to do with the choice development tools and game engine. I know that likes of Unity, Unreal and Cryengine don't charge extra fees for publishing on consoles because it's BS. But obviously none of this has anything to do with the protagonists being white so I still gotta question why the hell you made that connection?
