  1. There used to a guy in high school named Charles Dickins-Thomas. As you can imagine, it was twisted to mean several things by most of us. What’s the funniest actual name you’ve heard of someone having?

  2. I swear I'm not lying about this one. I don't know if his parents were trying to be funny, or if they didn't realize what they were doing. There's an auto dealer here that is Head Motor Company. Well one of the owners had a son. They named him Richard. So the boys name is Richard Head. And what is so wrong with that you may be asking? Well a shortened way to say Richard is Dick. So the boys name is Dick Head. I worked at HMC detailing cars, and to this day I still don't know whether to laugh, cry, or just feel sorry for the poor guy.

  3. Personally, I hate having to pay for repairs to my vehicle (prior vehicles that I've had not my current one) because I used to own Subaru WRX Sti and whenever the transmission broke, it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. What’s something you really resent paying for?

  4. June 19th is officially recognized nationally and signed into affect by Biden as the day of independence for black Americans when in June 19, 1865 after the civil war, the Union soldiers declared the independence of blacks from slavery in Galveston Texas. Why Galveston? Because it is the farthest south the soldiers had to go and carve a path of independence for blacks as the southern strongholds still refused to give them freedom even when the war ended. All this time blacks have been celebrating the 4th of July as an independence that their ancestors didn't even have till more than a century after the country's independence from England. USA independence was in 1776 and black independence from slavery was 1865. And even after that blacks endured oppression and segregation and didn't get full rights till the 1960's civil rights era. And today we are seeing that same oppressive pattern that has inflicted them and their ancestors their entire existence in America. So today, blacks can celebrate their independence in a new light and I hope all of us celebrate with them as they have always celebrated the independence from England. And this is a holiday where everyone gets the day off work and some even the Friday before it. I'm very happy to share this holiday with them.

  6. I actually have a very similar story. I work at a dockyard that refits and now builds ships for the Royal Navy, among other things. Fairly Recently, we assembled the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier. As a way to honour the hard work of the people who built them, each individual had his or her name etched onto one of the hanger doors. We were all obviously invited up to a little ceremony to commemorate this. We couldn't actually look at the engraving as the doors weren't complete at the time, but the full list of names were up on a large billboard displayed on the hander. And yes, you guessed it, there was a Richard Head. I can't believe I live in a world with two pairs of idiots who would do this to their child exist. So now, Dick Head is etched permanently on the Royal Navy's flagship.

  7. You'll always have the occasional family argument but it's great when to have them around (that's if you have a healthy bond with them).

  8. It could actually backfire and there could be a game series that snobs flock to. Then it's like the lyrics to Subdivisions by Rush, "Be cool, or be cast out."

  9. Black Mirror is awesome. Black Museum and USS Calister were two of my favorite episodes. "Taking my pussy is going too far!" I would be inclined to agree.

  10. I pretty much agree. E3 was ment to give journalists a chance to see, and possibly try, new games to then report about them to fans through the publication they worked for, whether it be a magazine, newspaper, website or whatever. When they first started to let the public in it became that much more difficult for journalists to see everything they needed to see. To to fix the problem they themselves created, E3 started hosting presentation style conferences so everyone could see new announcements and trailers all at once. This turned E3 into more of a con' (Like Comicon), something the games industry didn't really need as such a thing already existed. The final nail in the coffin came when, again E3 themselves, introduced the idea of live streaming these conferences. After that, it was only a matter of time until game publishers and console manufacturers thought, "Why don't we just stream our own announcements at a time and schedule to suit ourselves?". And, now they are. I know how this is going to sound, but the worst thing E3 ever did for itself was try to connect more directly to the public. That set it on the path towards irrelevancy. Maybe E3's fate wouldn't have been better if it had stayed closed to the public and been for journalists only, it's hard to imagine what would have happened if they did, but either way I actually like things better the way the have turned out. Publishers use the internet as it is now and take charge of thier own announcements. They get better, more direct feedback and it means we don't have go through the hassle and expense to going through 3rd party journalists to get the latest news.

  11. Well, the stigma around gaming has been rapidly changing over the last decade and a half so this may soon be a reality. Personally, I don't think it will change most things about people - they'll still have their malicious, narcissistic and selfish attitudes and if you play any MMOs, it's usually very apparent.
