  2. I'm not trying to provoke him or anyone else, I'm just trying to show how this is not a problem indigenous to this one situation with Thor in GOW: Ragnarok. This is everywhere, and just because the subject of the conversation changes, the nonsense remains the same.

Yeah - You're actually correct about the game still being playable but not with all its features. FIFA is already pulling the plug on the game with the date of FIFA 22 already announced. https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-fifa-15-servers-officially-shut-fifa-22-release-date-draws-closer

Yeah, most likely it's going to happen with my getting the PS5 console sooner or later. FIFA 15 server shutdown was just announced. Are you aware of it?

  6. The main point of concern should be on trying to make a perfect game world irrespective of the size being considered. If it's bigger, it calls for ensuring that not a spot be treated as trivial and the same thing should be applied to smaller worlds.

  7. Until I get the programs that were recommended to me here fully learned, it will most likely be 1 hour clips that will be abruptly ending. That's the longest setting for recording that PS4 has unfortunately.

  8. The thing with World of warcraft is, time moves as you lvl up, or in some cases zones are just stuck in a specific time (see Stonetalon Mountains), but in general time moves when you lvl, and you get closer and closer to the present, as such you are going through all the expansions time wise.

  10. When did this thread go from talking about fantasy card games to talking about NASCAR? And I thought I was scatterbrained.

  11. Actually to honest most depictions of Greek gods seem to have abs... ...but that's not the point. The point is as stated by the OP is that the Norse Thor had a belly.

  12. In case you wanted some further insight into this from a very reliable source, here's a GameSpot interview with British Powerlifting Champion Darren McCormac. He says and I quote "Like it or not, God of War's Thor is the peak of male performance". https://www.gamespot.com/amp-articles/god-of-war-ragnaroks-thor-is-the-peak-of-male-performance-powerlifting-champion-says/1100-6496246/ I've no issue with Chris Hemsworth or Hollywood's interpretation of Marvel's Thor, it's reasonably accurate to it's own source. But Marvel's Thor is NOT the Norse Thor, it never was. I appreciate that Santa Monica Studio's have gone back to Thor's Norse roots for the design, which I think looks totally badass in its own way. I'm really tired of this kind of "It's not hot by the unrealistic standard set by Hollywood therefore bad" idiocy. The same thing happened with Aloy when the Horizon Forbidden West debuted. Does anyone know what a human being looks like anymore? Apparently some people just want their characters to look like genetically perfect freaks. Jezz... What the fuck is wrong with humanity!

The last game I played using my PC is simply FIFA19, it's simply an old version of EA FIFA game series but I am still enjoying it, looking over to lay my hands in the latest version 'FIFA22 that will come later this year. The gameplay and features will simply be amazing. I'll be playing that one using a PS5 console, I am making savings to get it by December.

  15. For example in GTAV 90% of the map you drive through once and that's it. Yet how many thousands of hours go into designing those parts? Only for the player to pass through it once on their way to a poi. What makes exploring fun is interesting POIs with intriguing lore and artifacts, or actually unique loot items. But since loot now comes from lootboxes and paid transactions, exploration has lost one of its biggest draws.

  16. Couldn't agree more with you more. I think that is by far the biggest problem with open world games right now, their getting to big. They put areas of interest between miles and miles of mostly empty space. They need to do what games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Skyrim did, which is make the best use of the space that it's got. When you make your map dense and effective it doesn't need to be massive. At no point when playing these games did I ever feel it was "to small", despite the maps being a fraction of the size of Zelda BOTW or some of the more recent Assassin's Creed games. These titles (BOTW especially) frustrated the hell out of me at times because of their oversized maps. It's like most of these devs have this obsession with making their game world's as big as possible as if it's a competition on who's got the biggest dick. It needs to stop and they need to back the fundamentals of what makes exploring an open be world fun... because it's NOT size.

  17. Why would they need to get bigger? I've had 10 times more fun in GTA3 and Vice City than in GTAV, despite the map being only a fraction of the size. What you ask for is not feasible, and not even necessary. And the exact mentality while we get big but pointless open world games devoid of meaningful content. As for being able to destroy cities, see Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. You can literally level everything in that game, and it's one of the most underrated open world games I've seen.

  18. My playing of a new game immediately is completely dependent on how my schedule was immediately after getting it. If it's free, I'm getting into the game ASAP.

  19. That's incredible, we're almost fans to it almost at the same time. You don't get to see NASCAR fans easily lately.

  21. I think the Marvel version of Thor just doesn't fit the image that I would have for a Norse God and the lean body is part of it, but more importantly for me is that he just looks too young or too unscathed to play the part of a warrior God. Thor in Ragnarok seems more realistic and wild as we would expect, not some perfect shaved, wrinkle free, flower eater. The Ragnarok version would tear apart a turkey leg. People have the idea that the image of a God is perfection. Even more so in today's world. Why is that? A lot of those older pictures and paintings depict ordinary body shapes. Why are we so obsessed with clean and boring and unattainable now? Is it really that disturbing to see a game character with a belly? I would play that bellied Thor any day over most of the other characters I see in games.

  28. Social media is such a toxic place nowadays that I just don't pay most of the people on those platforms any mind. Anybody that knows Norse Mythology knows Thor is fat - I honestly can't believe this is a topic of discussion. I already like the game because what I'm seeing from it is his son being as naive as Kratos was at his age and Kratos trying to steer him down a different path.

  29. I think the biggest problem with open world games, is that they are cardboard cutouts. Nothing is functional, nothing is interactive. They all just go for size, instead of quality. I think anything larger than GTAIV is pointless. Instead of making the world bigger, it should be made interactive, where every building is explorable, and has a function, even if it is not relevant to your quest. I find it immersion breaking that in every open world game only 1 in a hundred buildings can be entered into, and even there the only accessible room is where you have a mission objective. Cities should have working mass transit systems, and every vendor and shop should be real where you can actually buy food or something. I think with ai technology you can easily generate random NPCs with proper spoken lines without having to involve writers or even voice actors. Current open world games all feel like walking around a movie set instead of a real living breathing environment.

  30. I already worked through at least a dozen crunch times, some longer, some shorter, albeit not on games. We rarely got paid anything above standard OT pay. Sometimes not even that. There were bad bosses, who would go home and phone us up at 10pm from the comfort of their home to ask for status updates. And there were those who stayed with us through the thick of it. And even those who would bring food to the office for free. You see it all depends on mutual respect, not just money. If employers respect you you are much easier convinced to put in extra work.

  31. I feel like it's been years since I've actually offered a genuine compliment to COD, but if I'm understanding the trailer, something I've been waiting for in a WW2 FPS, especially from COD, has actually come into fruition. A WW2 game whare the focus isn't the American perspective of the liberation of France for the 9,000nth time. I'm especially happy to see the Eastern front and North Africa included. The area's of conflict in WW2 that isn't post D-Day France have been ignored for far to long. It's still COD, so I still probably won't buy it, but give Sledgehammer thier due, it's nice to see this change of setting at the very least.
