  1. I don't know if it matters, or if anyone cares, but starting this Friday (10-8-21) I will be gone for several days. We're flying out to Indiana to buy my dream car, and then driving back. We'll be stopping at hotels on the way, So we may not be back until Monday (10-11-21). Hopefully we'll be back sooner, But there's always the chance that we won't be back before the work week starts. We're not going to push ourselves, because I'm not taking the chance of hurting my car. If I get drowsy, we're stopping. And with this car, no one drives it but me. It's my baby, and I'm taking care of it as if it were a human child. I don't know if I've posted a pic of it yet, but either way here she is. 1987 Chevy Camaro Iroc-Z T-top

I have noticed this and have been thinking about if/how to address it. I understand both your perspective @The Blackangel but also @Shagger's as well. I could introduce a flood control, increase number of threads per page, and introduce posting limitations like X posts per 24 hours. I am still considering the options but want to let you know that I am actively thinking about how to best address this.

I get the propose of the idea, but I don't think it work because we actually already have a system the covers that purpose already. That being the public message system on member's profiles; And, for one reason or another, people barely seem to use it. So, I don't see many people using a chatbot either.

  5. It's just like to point something out to everyone. The opening poster of this thread was a spammer, or possible even a scammer trying to draw people into clicking on a dodgy link that I removed and then banned the user. He tried the same thing on this thread. It's okay, the dodgy links were only up for a few minutes at most, so ultimately, no harm done. That's why I never deleted or locked the threads because with that link gone, they were no longer a threat. However, I am little concerned that people have just started posing on this thread completely oblivious to the fact that this was meant to be scam/spam post and nobody seems to able to tell difference. So, I'll ask everyone to look out for the signs. Are there links? Never clink on links unless the user is somebody who you know is a legitimate member and can be trusted. Is the user new? What other posts have they made? Check thier profile. Somebody who comes onto the forum and them immediately starts posting stuff without introducing themselves is a big red flag. Look at how a post is written. Is it generic and impersonal in nature? Take this post, the guy just posts a list of games coming out this month, that's just not how real people interact when on a gaming forum, especially when they first join. Most spammers, especially bots, don't create a profile, so a lack of a profile background or avatar is another to look out for. Look for other generic details in things like user names. Almost nobody would use an actual name on a forum like this, so look out for that as well as very unimaginative screennames like our friend "gamerlover22" here. I know this may be a bit of an overreaction on my part, but people interacting with threads like this as if they're totally normal is something happens a worrying large amount of times VGR and it leaves me a little concerned that people are going to get caught out. Please be safe and report a post if it looks wrong.

Good luck on your trip. I'm sure the car will be worth it. See you the forum wherever.

  7. I completely agree with you, KC would be a great market for hockey, and the Blues could do with a team in their own back yard taking away from their fanbase! Houston is another possibility, which would make for an interesting rivalry with the Stars, and either market would suit the needs of the divisions, so there are definitely options. I don't see the Coyotes folding anytime soon, but I do think it's well within the realm of possibility that they make a change in their location.

  10. I can explain this, I fact I probably should have explained this earlier but I'm here now. When I was at University Bluetooth was still in its infancy but It did learn a bit about it. One of the things I learned is in order to sell products using the patented Bluetooth technology companies have to agree to the terms of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG wiki). This is pretty dry corporate stuff so I'll keep it a brief as possible, but I will leave links to the full information throughout if you want to check it out for yourselves. The SIG was formed with the interest of making the technology accessible and the competition in the market fair. The main document of relevance here is the General Rules of Antitrust Compliance (pdf). I'll quote what I think to be most relevent parts which are points 5 through 7 and 9. Basically what this means is Nintendo can deny the use of their own patented Bluetooth products on competing platforms, but they cannot prevent other companies from using competing Bluetooth products on thier own. If you know anything about the history of Nintendo you'll know they really don't like other companies making money of their platforms without their approval so this would be a problem for them. So for them this was something of an ultimatum, they can't make any Bluetooth audio products of their own and sell them without opening the gates for everybody else. In guessing Nintendo want to market some sort of Bluetooth headset so they had no choice.

  11. I wouldn't want to see faces look at me in every mirror. Wouldn't want shower water to turn to blood and have a hand reach for my throat. I wouldn't want the lights to completely turn off while I go stand in a corner, listening to movements and voices. I wouldn't want to open my eyes in bed and see an old lady clung to the ceiling with her head backwards. F**k! I'm starting to scare myself. I'll take the pirate island.

  14. This is my team so far if anyone is interested. Only played squad battle games during the EA Access trial and got very lucky in packing both Haaland and Kounde. Looking forward to playing FUT Champs with this team because there should only be a few people with great teams.

  15. For the Xbox Series X, I would love for them to start sending out the controllers with rechargeable batteries. There's no reason for them to make us buy them separately. With the PS5, the only thing I would change is for it to be slightly smaller. It's not a huge problem but it would be a lot better.

  16. If you install this: https://www.winehq.org/ You would find that most of the windows based apps and the games are easy to run. I say most because some may not show compatibility.

  17. I'm a hockey nut as well. My team is the Red Wings. As for relocation, if they do leave Arizona behind, I would like to see them go to KC. Being a Missouri native, it would give another team here and lessen the hometown bullshit that everyone has towards the god damn blues. The blues is the one team in the league that I can't stand. I would love to see the team dissolved and the players recruited to other teams. But the Coyotes have a lot of reason to move, not just the ending of the lease. They have never really brought enough revenue to the state for them to keep up with the cost of a professional hockey team. If they were in a different part of the country it would be different. But the in southwest part of the US, they just don't usually have interest in "winter" sports. NFL, NBA, MLB are always going strong down there, but the NHL just doesn't have that hold. Not only do we have to accommodate for the Kraken, but also the Golden Knights. They are just a couple seasons older than the Kraken. So the NHL is still adjusting to that. I know Quebec would love to have another team, but I honestly don't see them crossing the border. They'll stick around, but I'm pretty sure not in Arizona.

  18. I have 183 steam games listed, another 30 more on another platform. So do you call that collecting then? You ask yourself that and see it for yourself. Do you even play all of the games that you even own.

  19. In some games you can in fact, or they give you a choice of different controller set profiles but even when you can't it doesn't really bother me. In truth I usually stick with the default bindings even when the option is there (including PC). I find it simpler to adapt to the game rather than go through each of the controls deciding how I want this and that. I find that most modern games are pretty similar anyway. The only thing that's an exception to that is in camera/aim controls. In which I always invert the Y axis for because it came to a point where I got sick of having to re-adjust for flight Sims and other games like RPG's and shooters.
