I am back on this forum after 3 years. I seem to have almost forgotten this amazing community. Recently, when I landed on the forum I was surprised to find my account there. If I has not saved my password on my browser, I would have never known I was a member here.2 points

I love Troy's work (Especially as Joel in TLOU), but what the hell was he thinking with this? These two video's from YongYea and ReviewTechUSA cover the story in detail, but basically this company Voiceverse NFT made a deal with Troy Baker to sell an NFT of his voice and not only did Try agree, he endorsed it on his own social media with a god awful statement. Anybody remember season 2 of 24? Spoiler alert, but men representing oil interests made a fake recording of a terrorist meeting with officials for various countries to implicate those countries in a terrorism plot in the hope of starting a war. They did this through a guy that developed software that could make a person's voice say anything using just a sample of that persons voice. That used to be fiction, but now it's a true story just waiting to happen. That 24 example may be extreme, but anyone wo thinks that selling voice NFT's won't lead to some very nefarious use of someone's voice to implicate someone or try to ruin thier reputation is naïve. This has already gone too far. There is nothing about this that is good. It's bad for upcoming voice actors, jeopardises the quality and care of future game voice overs and is a risk for voice over actors to get involved with. It's bad, simple as that. Shame on you, Troy. Still love you man, but you really didn't think this through, either that or you saw many 0's and didn't care for the implications that this might, and probably will, have on yourself and smaller voice actors as well, or you didn't care.1 point

Not A Nugget
killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
I just saw this today, so I don't know if this is old news or new news since I couldn't find a date on it. But apparently, PETA is wanting Nintendo to add their mascot, Not A Nugget, as a playable character in Super Smash bros. It's a little baby chicken with some kind of gun or something. I'll add a pic as well. Personally, while I support animal rights, I would never get in bed with PETA. They kill and abuse more animals than any other animal rights related organization currently in action. There are animal rights groups out there that are truly fighting for animals, but aren't whoring themselves out to make money. I just can't wrap my head around this kind of blatant money grabbing attempt from something that is so far from games. And the game they chose is really what boggles me. They want to add a character, that is for creatures rights to not be abused, to a game where the objective is to beat the shit out of your opponents. These assholes have made a major misstep in their logic here. https://support.peta.org/page/32326/petition/11 point -

Those are some incredible cars that's listed in the Gran Turismo 7. Which one is your favorite amongst them all?1 point -
It didn't help that the room we gamed in, was small as hell and I being a bigger guy, had some trouble getting around everyone lol. But it was a good time, and we made it work. It was one of the first times I drank beer too. I chased it with dr. pepper lol. I don't think I ever got too drunk though.1 point

Yeah I can't stand PETA. I am all for supporting animal rights and all that, but the way they go about it, I think hurts their cause more than it actually helps. They just make more enemies than help I think.1 point

It never did. Consciousness and self awareness may have, but don't confuse them with intelligence.1 point -

It's never a big deal to take some time off gaming especially with a particular game when it's not working out well. The time off will do you a lot of good.1 point

Movies or video games which one you love more?
Family sedan reacted to egghead for a topic
I cant' compare between these two. Fr me, games and movies, both are relieving. However, games are just an entertainment for me, whereas movies can be educative especially when I watch historical movies.1 point -

I know it's an old comment and all but l I'm not sure where you're coming from there. Horizon Zero Dawn has internal politics within it's own narrative and lore but I can't recall any of it being direct satire or commentary on any current political events. There are some subtle commentary on certain social issues like sexism, corporate greed and the environment but it's nothing over the top.1 point

What were the most groundbreaking arcade games?

Once again, Joust is a game that I considered, but I couldn't decide where it would land in any gaming style that it might have led to. Asteroids is another. It is the ultimate classic space shooter. I wasn't mentioning it, because I had already mentioned Galaga. There is no more iconic space shooter game than Asteroids. Despite the fact that you're just an oddly shaped triangle shooting white lines at other oddly polygons on a black screen, it is one of the most under looked games in the history of gaming. At least by the gamers of today. But that is simply because none of them know it exists. It may not look like much, but when it hit the Atari 2600 home console in 1981 people just about shit their pants. Everyone who was anyone had Asteroids at home on their Atari. I had one of their biggest competitors of the time, Colecovision. But I only had 3 games for it. Ladybug, which was a Pac-Man spinoff. Donkey Kong. And the 3rd one I cant remember. I think it was either Pitfall, Frogger, or Centipede most likely.1 point -
This is the list of cars that are going to be featuring in Gran Turismo 7 so far. It's going to be one hell of racing deal.1 point

That's for a fact true. Remember the post about a gaming inventory that's worth over $1.6 million dollars, that's really a lot.1 point
