  1. In today's world, religion is nothing more than organized crime. It seeks power, not faith. The most faithful people I personally have ever encountered are Muslims. Jews would be a close second place after that. There's one Synagogue and one Mosque here in my town, and I've seen some of the most faithful people going to them. Whereas the churches are a lot different. Religion in my opinion, is a crutch and a trick to beat down the weak, and lift up the rest. The threat of eternal damnation is what got religions power in the first place when they were still small. Every religion started out as a cult. Even Judaism, Islam, and xtianity.

  2. When you have a weird little slice of time to fill and you want to game, what do you play? For example, say you just finished a game, and you have 20 minutes before you want to quit gaming for the day. What do you fill that gap with?

  3. I encountered two very bizarre and comical situations this morning. I would like the community's input on which is more outrageous. 1. I went to Walgreens (pharmacy/convenience store chain in the US) and the woman in front of me was checking out two items: retinol cream and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes'. 2. I then went to my favorite hiking spot. As I got out my car to walk to the trailhead, I saw a man (who had obviously just finished the hike) light up a cigarette. I wonder if these two are married. Anyways, I found both scenarios equally funny and outrageous. Vote!

  4. They are never finished There is no final, complete version of a live service game. As they are ever changing. Content and features are added, removed and changed on short notice. Yeah, changes are generally seen as an improvement, but there are always people who enjoy a game more before a change. So why take that away from them? They try to organize your time for you Live service games demand the player to log in at specific intervals, to get access to some benefits. They also force them to play certain content within a specified time frame. I think if we consider gaming addiction a problem, then this is a big driving force for that, as you are encouraged to play even when you normally wouldn't want to. "Oh, I'll loose my XP boost if I don't login every day" They are not a fair transparent transaction When you buy a regular game you see exactly what you get for your money. With live service games it is not clear. Whether you get your money's worth out of that season's pass is anyone's guess. Which basically makes it a gamble. You gamble on getting content that's worth your while. The sunken cost fallacy After paying for games as a service, you feel obliged to play them even if you don't enjoy it that much. I experienced this first hand when subscribing to either a live service game, or even just a service like games pass or EA Play. I played more than I'd normally, in the hopes of getting more out of the deal. This might also be bad for those prone to addiction. The eventual abandonment It is only a question of when, not if a life service game gets abandoned by its developer. So games preservation is impossible. They sometimes operate on live support for a while, but the servers are always shut down eventually. This might even be illegal for games that you purchased as retail, and not just free to play. But that never stops them, it's not like anyone is going to sue a company worth billions for loosing access to a $60 game. Trickle fed content This might only be my gripe with live service content, but after I play a game I forget all it's quirks and controls within a few weeks. Then when new content is released I have to spend time re-familiarizing myself with the game, only to play a mission that often takes no more than 15-20 minutes to complete. It's like if a restaurant only gives you a sample of the food, and says, oh, the next bite will be 2 months from now, cheers. But you already paid for the full course.

  5. Fortnite is free-to-play anyway.

  6. Yeah - it does because they're one of the biggest exporters in the world so a lot of hardware, labor and other things come from China so it's a very appealing market.

  7. I found the video - it still makes me laugh almost 20 years later:

  8. Vietcong is the video game about Vietnam war and everything that happened in the war being replicated in the game.

  9. Eh that doesn't look good at all. Why can't they make it as close to the show? It just doesn't screen Attack on Titan to me.

  10. Who the hell even smokes after a hike? Normally, you'd be looking to inhale some oxygen not Nicotine.

  11. Yeah - religion has always been a tool used to manipulate the majority and maintain control over them. Religion is and has always been smoking mirrors.

  12. Those in power uses 'Divine Rights' for 'political legitimacy of monarchy.' It has always been like that, where Gods ordained their authority. So my opinion is that religion stems from divine rights to rule over people. Those who seek to integrate religion into government do so when they want autocratic monarchy.

  13. When a video game gets too many positive reviews, it is very much believing that the game is widely accepted by gamers. That's exactly what TLOU II is all about.

  17. My unpopular opinion about Religion is that it's just a political tool which is a way the church control the masses.. 😂

  18. I've bought Mass Effect Legendary Edition and so thusly jumping into this iconic franchise for the first time. I don't really know why I've never played this game until now, it just sort of passed me by. I don't really regret that though because this new version offers some superb value with the original trilogy and all of thier combined DLC content in one convenient package. Shows that even EA can get shit right on occasion, but the fact there is 40 DLC's across these three games in the first place does bring me back to reality somewhat 😆. Still, really enjoyed the first few hours so far, although navigating the Citadel (if I'm getting that right) is a bit of a pain. What do you think of this version of the game, what hints and tip can you offer and what do you think of the franchise in general?

Unless they are one's with completionist tendencies, then they will be pushed to play to the end at any cost.

Most gamers aren't even pressed to finish most games they get into except for few of them.

I'm planning on playing GTA 5 and Gran Turismo 6 today if my schedule allows me to play out both of them but GTA 5 is my priority.

  23. To me, this is just another con. I'd rather pay money for a good game then waste hours of my life playing crap for a pittance. The only people than make any real money with these games are the dodgy bastards who publish them.

  24. Watch Dogs Legion is my first Watch Dogs experience AND actually my first encounter with Assassin's Creed. So, I can't really give an informed opinion, but from what I can tell, the tie-in integrates really well. I think you could be right that a completely integrated game could work well!

  25. And that game turned out good too. So not bad for 10 months work. I wonder if there was any other games done before that. I'm sure there are some who made short games in shorter periods of time.

  26. Also keep in mind that prices for parts are crazy high right now due to shortges. You'll probably be spending a lot with how things are right now.

  27. I hope to hell not. Zuckerberg has his grubby little paws into almost everything else, so there's no sense in Facebook making a console. We see consoles come and go, but no one can really compete with the big 3. So in my view, it would just be a waste of time on their part, because I only see it being a major flop and the company losing millions if not billions. Not that Zuckerberg would really notice if it was just millions.
