Entitled Anti-Vaxxers HATE Being Called 'Unvaccinated'
Jayson and one other reacted to kingpotato for a topic
Thank you, its very important that we inform ourselves properly regarding vaccines. I know that a lot of people have concerns and I know what those concerns are, but all those rumors that we see on the internet are not true, the vaccine is not killing people, but Covid will kill you if your body is not strong enough. The vaccine will help your body defend itself against the virus. The only side effect of the vaccine will be a headache, a stiff arm and some fever, I had worse hangovers than thatš Anyway, my man @Jayson I mean no disrespect, I know you have your concerns, and trust me at this point in the pandemic the vaccine has been tested already, People are not dying because of the side effects of the vaccine, they are dying because of covid and other health complications unrelated I invite you to do some research on the internet and you will find out that the pros are better than the cons. You stay safe my friend.2 points -

Here is something I wanted to share. So my mom used to be very pro vaccination , I remember back during the influenza H1 N1 flu pandemic she was on top of the vaccine updates and made sure everybody in the family got vaccinated during the following years after that pandemic. I do have to clarify that at this point in time she didnt liked the internet. But then the Covid pandemic started, at this point since she is older and in the vulnerable group she stopped working, since she was at home most of the times I got her a tablet to pass the time. Then by the time the first vaccine was announced she was afraid and againts it, by that point I didnt tough much about it but as the time passed she started getting these ideas that the goverment was killing or controlling people, that 5g was bad (she has a 5g phone š)and a whole bunch of stuff like that. Thats when we notice that she had gone on youtube and had watch constantly watch different youtube channels providing this kind of information. She does believe Covid exist, she is not an anti mask, she is actually very afraid of covid, but at the same time she is more afraid of the vaccine even though most of my family already got vaccinated months ago without any issues. Im still trying to convince her to get vaccinated, and I created another youtube account for her , so I can monitor what she sees (now I feel like the parent), she does take all the precautions but that is not enough, and she still has those dumb ideas without proofs or any type of logical foundation to them. I love my mom but when she brings up these topics is like talking to a wall.1 point -

How Should A Website/Government Response To Extremism
The Blackangel reacted to Reality vs Adventure for a topic
My initial reaction when I think of extremism is terrorism, but I guess that isn't always the case; although I do believe it's an end game. Countries need to redefine their terrorism laws. For example, Canada has banned Proud Boys while USA politicians hire them as security. Italy and Germany have more strict laws against neo nazis, while in my country they can protest and wave flags as if they were ISIS with rights. And there are those who wave confederate flags everywhere. That flag represents those who lost a civil war in my country who were pro slavery. I would have banned those flags a long time ago. It has no place in society. So staying within the constitution, we need to define terrorism laws because while where I am, we have international/foreign terrorism laws but not domestic. Sad to say, but even if we did define domestic terrorism, those extremist politicians will try to use those laws against political opponents, protestors, and movements. We need to use all our resources and infiltrate extremist networks. I'm talking straight CIA/FBI/NSA/007/Green Beret shit and bring them down like it was the American Italian mafia wars.1 point -

I'm not exactly sure why what I would have to say on this subject would be more interesting or relevant, but I'll chime in. The notable difference between extremism and free speech is how it impacts other people. It is no longer your right to express something when that impedes on the rights or safety of somebody else. So, if a website is hosting something that's meant to spread hate, then that is not free speech. Saying "I hate insert" is free speech. You don't have to like it or agree it, but that is free speech. Saying "this is why you should hate insert" is more questionable, and defiantly over line to say "should be violent towards insert". Such conversations online are no different to such conversations in real life.1 point

What I can say to this is that I believe that people need to be given the opportunity to choose where they want to be, even if they showed some errors, there should be a system to correct and guide them back, but when they are presented that opportunity/chance but they choose to kick it, then they deserve all the sticks.1 point

@Heatman You are absolutely right about deradicalization not working on some people. The problem would then be where to put them. You couldn't just let them on the platform, but we can't just let them out into the deeper parts of the web, you've most certainly seen how toxic and hateful the surface web is, just imagine how bad the deep web is. I think when it comes to these type of people, there wouldn't be a answer that wouldn't involve some extreme measures. To be honest, I don't have the answers to that. I more of an optimist in people. We most certainly need to have a deeper conversation on this.1 point

Some people get off on showing glitches. There's whole videos all over YouTube that are strictly about game glitches. Hell on our channel we have a couple videos showing some of the glitches in RDR2. Most of the time they're nothing major, they're just annoying. Sometimes they're funny as hell. There was one that I seriously wish I had been recording when it happened. I was in Valentine, and from off screen a guy went flying across town level with the tops of the buildings as if Superman had punched him. The bullshit part was that I was the one that go the blame and that the cops came for.1 point -

Deus Ex Invisible War: The sequel to the greatest videogame ever is generally considered a failure, and most people dismissed it. While it is certainly not nearly as good as the original it is still an above average game, that deserved much more. I really enjoyed some aspects of it, it expanded on the concept of being able to play multiple sides, and in case you don't know it was one of the first big games that I know of that allowed the player to choose the gender of the protagonist. Mass Effect Andromeda: This game really got the short end of the stick when it released, a bunch of 'influencers' convinced everyone that it is terrible and that was it for the game. While it certainly has some glaring issues it is still a very enjoyable game, and far better, than the generally well received Dragon Age Inquisition. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare: This was a typical case of wrong time at the wrong place. The game is simply loathed because it was not what the so called fans expected. They rejected the futuristic sci-fi concept. For me this was one of the most profound single player experiences, it might have been short but very impactful. Dragon Age 2: Maybe not everyone hated this, but still there was a lot of outcry about EA ruining dragon age when this game dropped. I couldn't disagree more, I absolutely loved this game, despite the recycled maps. The combat was much more fluid and fast paced and less based on luck, and the story is much more interesting than of the first game. This is my favorite Dragon Age by far. Ghost Recon Wildlands: Narco Road: OK, this is not exactly a full game, only a DLC, but one containing a full campaign that is longer than many other stand alone games. But everyone told me I shouldn't buy this because it is terrible. Well, I did it anyway, and this is why I never listen to the hype or hate anymore as this ended up being my favorite part of the game. Much more visceral, hard, and engaging, than the base game or the other expansion, Fallen Ghosts. I loved those too, but this is the real deal, getting to go undercover in the drug cartel, and being completely alone, not able to rely on anyone but yourself. It was a brutal experience, and the ending is the icing on the cake. Terminator Resistance: This game opened to middling to outright hostile reviews, from all major publications, but all I've seen in it is a well intentioned oldschool shooter, that doesn't want to be more than that. And the result is a really enjoyable experience, that reignited memories of the old Terminator Future Shock / Skynet games. I'm not sure if The Last of Us II and Cyberpunk 2077 counts as hated, or more like divisive, so I'll only mention them because I enjoyed both very much, they really made 2020 a worthy year for gaming, unlike the disaster that was 2021.1 point

Entitled Anti-Vaxxers HATE Being Called 'Unvaccinated'
Crazycrab reacted to Reality vs Adventure for a topic
Pfizer has been approved by the FDA and all vaccines are always going to have those that have health complications from it. I was a big anti vaxxer and even got the religious exemption from being vaccinated while going to a university years ago. But we are in a pandemic where many people have died. I weighed in on my decision to get vaccinated because my life is more valuable than to risk taking the chances catching Covid. As far as I'm concerned, you people have made your decision and have put yourselves at a great risk and i could care less if you died from Covid. But at least wear a mask and show some consideration to communities and people that may be vulnerable. That is your responsibility as a human being, as a citizen. But people getting violent for being told to wear a mask, and ripping masks off of other's faces, and throwing hissy spoiled brat fits on airplanes and everywhere, it's all ridiculous. The conversation may be about vaccines now, but your people acted the same when it was about masks before vaccines were even made. What was the excuse then? Personal rights was it? Taking a step back from the evolution pool are we? Go ahead and fall behind. We will throw you a ball when you start licking your own ass.1 point -

There's no point in denying that poorer communities have problems, they do. That's because they are poorer communities. I'm not going to get into details here because it is case by case and the actual issues are different depending on where you go. However you can, very loosely, generalize it with poverty = desperation. It's not bad people but a bad situation. The only way out of it is for the community to work it's way out of it but this takes years, even generations to accomplish.1 point -

Morality and how it relates to abortion
kingpotato reacted to Crazycrab for a topic
Well for starters the window where a fetus can be aborted ends at 24 weeks, LONG before the baby is actually born. So I'm a little confused as to exactly when in your mind this transition period between the fetus having rights and having none actually should be. Secondly this comparison between a fetus and a slave is ludicrous, I personally don't recall any instance of a fetus being forced into the fields to their masters damn cotton. I usually try to see both sides of the argument but Abortion is an exception. The so called "pro life" is stance is a load of dated, hypocritical bullshit. The people that argue against abortion also argue the use contraception is a sin for fucks sake! The one thing I would agree with is that there are options that are arguably better in most circumstances. like giving the child up for adoption to an infertile or same sex couple that can't conceive naturally.... but oh yeah.... THEY THINK HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN TOO! Like @kingpotato said earlier they will defend to the the death the rights of a non-sentient fetus but don't give a fraction of shit about the rights of the one that's pregnant with it. Instead they slut shame and insult them for having sex out of wedlock an not using the contraception their against. They don't make any exception for victims of rape either and Christian hospitals will even refuse to abort even in cases of Ectopic Pregnancies where the fetus cannot survive and the patient's life is in immediate jeapordy. So much for fucking "pro-life"! Even if we were to accept the rights and life of the fetus why do they override the rights and life of the mother that actually has feelings? It's still a hypocritical and disgusting point of view and I make no apologies for calling it out for what it is.1 point -

You're damn right. Whites in this country are starting to claim "reverse racism" all the time. What the fuck, exactly, is "reverse" racism? Is that racism against your own ethnicity? Oh no, the crybabies say it's racism against white people. Well fuck you. Get the fuck over it. Who even gives a shit? After all the shit my people have done for so long to anyone who even looks different, we have more than earned any hatred we get. Granted, a single white person may not have any reason to be hated. But whites (American at least) as a race sure as shit do. And if you're too scared to admit who and what you are because you're afraid of some perceived consequences, then stay in fucking bed. Now I'm not racist against whites. But I am ashamed of the shit we have done. For example, I have a good amount of German heritage, but for the years of 1933-1945 I fully renounce my German heritage. But as you all know already, I'm the most misanthropic bitch you're ever going to meet. That much I can guarantee. What was it? "Don't cry over spilled milk". So you have the right to tell me that I don't have the right to decide what to do with my own body? And with the vaccine, not getting it isn't a personal right. The only result from not getting the vaccine is that deadly diseases spread much more easily and a hell of a lot faster. If you don't want us to get out of this pandemic, then you can go live on an uninhabited island with all the other anti-vax lunatics. It's not your right to expose me to a deadly disease because you're so self righteous and narcissistic that you refuse life saving measures due to your own stupidity.1 point -

Redesigning characters sends the message that there was something wrong with them. Which is quite hurtful to those who already come to like them and identified with the character as they were. So unless we are talking about a complete reboot of a series redesigns are a big red flag to me. As for locations, that's an entirely another thing, with technical advancements locations can be made bigger and more detailed, which necessitates some degree of redesign. The important bit is that the location keeps its atmosphere and general vibe.1 point -
Why do some people think Bioshock Infinite isn't really a "Bioshock" Game?
kingpotato reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
Iāve never played a Bioshock game, but I think I may be able to offer something here. I remember when Castlevania SOTN came out, a lot of people were saying that it wasnāt a true Castlevania game because the protagonist that you play as wasnāt Richter Belmont, but instead was Draculaās son, Alucard. Also a lot of people I know have always refused to play Majoras Mask because itās ānot a true Zelda gameā. All too often, if a game deviates from its normal storyline people reject it. Link wasnāt saving Zelda from Ganon in Hyrule. Hence not a Zelda game. And I donāt know how many people Iāve talked to that refused to play Links Awakening on Game Boy, some even refuse to admit that the Switch version is a remake.1 point
