I know that many of you have been expressing frustration over how "spammy" (for lack of a better word) some sections of the forum are becoming by a handful of people using the threads more like a chat. The forum gets flooded with off-topic posts on threads that really should have long since died but keep getting bummed because some people feel compiled to reply to them with anything. This thread is not about pointing fingers or blame, it is just about how to better organise the forum so that the threads can be more welcoming for the whole community. So people can post, for example, without worrying about there posts getting bummed down by people posting barley relevant, low value replies just to up posts counts. Four possible idea come to me. A "shitposting" sub forum for people to, well, "shitpost". A thread for memes, jokes and other irrelevant dribble to have fun with without impacting other areas of the forum. A re-focus on forum games. Upping post counts is essentially what these types of threads are for, but almost nobody on VGR tends to use them. For this to work, it would necessitate a change of habit that, to be honest, I don't really see happening, so I'm less sure about this one. A chat box added to the forum itself. This works well in theory, but could be difficult and time consuming to implement, not to mention hard to monitor and moderate, which is why I'd personally prefer... Opening a VGR Discord server. As well as a place for live chat, it would also open up the community to the opportunity to group up and actually play games together. Now, @DC, I remember we have had this discussion before and you didn't want to do this because you feared it would move traffic off the website, and I truly understand that, but this CAN be run and moderated in such a way that it would work, and may even attract new people to VGR. I skipped from PS3 to PS5, so I don’t know if PS4 has this, but I love that PS5 shows me the percentage I have completed of each chapter of a game when possible. It makes it so much easier to pace myself as I am closing in on the end of something. It even offers time estimates. As a result, it is much less likely to wind up in the middle of a final boss fight way past when I want to be sleeping.

@Crazycrab is right. There is a group individuals using these threads in such a manner that defies the purpose of a forum. It's more like a text chain, reddit or social media, but the VGR forum is none of those things. It is a forum. I'm going to work over the next few days to try and find a way to solve this, but I would strongly advice that the people who using the boards like it's a PM chat to stop and start using the forum the way it's supposed to be. However, @Crazycrab, @Candy Stick is NOT one of them. On the contrary, he's on of the few individuals still using that long running thread he started correctly. If what you said was true, all the recent post, or at least the majority of them, would be him, but that isn't really the case. Yes, he posts very monogamously on that thread, but that's simply because the thread is about Resident Evil, a subject that he has always posted very monogamously about, along side a smattering of other survival horror games. His actual post count is fairly tame and a lot of his posts are lengthy personal and with a lot of outside articles ad media cited. He is NOT the problem and it's unfair for you to call him out like this. The problem is the other people who post literally anything just post post something throughout the whole of general gaming. Again, I won't name names, but I'm fairly sure we all though (including these individuals themselves) who they are. Some of these people I have even PM'd directly and I've seen little to any improvement. The question is how to fix this so the rest of the forum will actually want to contribute will fell it's worthwhile doing so. Maybe there should be a "shitposting" sub-forum, or maybe it's time to bring back the idea of opening up an official VGR Discord server for people to chat on. I will discuss this with @DC and @The Blackangel, but we are open to ideas. A bit more of GTA Online on the PS5. The E&E edition didn't have a lot of improvements but I have to say that the 60FPS mode is very fun to use. The game looks good and feels amazing. I'm looking forward to going through the new content that I didn't pay attention to before as well.

This is another thread where we have the same handful of people just looping round the same conversation that has little to nothing to do with the topic at hand. If you want to discuss gamrant or similar such sites, either do so in an appropriate thread or through PMs. Given that the question has long since been answered, locked.

Data science is magnificent indeed. It has helped get what's discussed often in a given site. Google makes use of it too, to spread ads all over a site per it's discussions.

I got your point, even though we are trying to make it more competitive than what other previous editions offered in the past. But still, it shouldn't be drawn out nominating a roaster of names in a pointless manner. But everyone still have their choice, I did mine and nominated who I craved for. I am waiting for the voting to get underway soon. I am not hoping to win, I just want to see how this gonna turn out to be, to see if the voting counts supercede the previous editions that aren't up to 20 votes overall.

In agree with @The Blackangel about the long out conversations being pointless but I'm not gonna nominate anybody since imo it should go to someone who's posts contribute towards the community in a positive way and posts that make sense and i haven't been here for too long so i feel like i've not got the right to do so. Since we are on the subject of long drawn out conversations : I know it's not not a populair oppinion but a lot of threads especially in the general gaming section go on for way too long to the point it doesen't really have anything to do with the topic in particulair. It makes it hard to read trough all "spam" posts and takes up way more time then it should be to fish out the quality posts. If you wanna chat why not use the general chat section instead.

I don't know about the apology part. I definitely believe that Chris Rock should apologize like crazy, but I also feel that Will Smith was completely justified in knocking the shit out of Chris. He didn't just cross the line, He went so far beyond it that you couldn't even see it anymore. Him maintaining his composure is more than I could have done, but I think that knock to the head made him realize just how bad he fucked up. But like I said, I feel that Will was justified in busting Chris upside the head.

I'm just curious. Is everyone just going to talk about how @Empire deserves a nomination, or is someone actually going to nominate him? I've already cast my nomination, so I can't do it. But I noticed a long drawn out conversation about him deserving a nomination.

Actually, unless you provide evidence to back up your claim that homophobia is significantly more prevalent within the black community or that the homophobia within that community presents problems that don't exist in others that's pretty much exactly what your doing. Your singling them out for a prejudice that exists in every ethnic group.

Although he probably could have handled it better I don't blame Will Smith, that joke was in incredibly bad taste and very insulting. It's not like Will Smith is the sort of guy who can't take a joke, in fact I don't think I've ever seen him publicly loose his cool like this. I do give Chris Rock some credit for maintaining his composure, not to mention he can take a punch, but he was outta line. I'm sure these two will apologize to each other in the next couple of days and it will blow over. In the meantime we've got an incredible little bit of TV that will keep us entertained for a while!

I think that trying to nominate every active member for the sake of it will eventually leave someone out. Best to let it run its course naturally.

If everyone was in the running it would a 10 way tie with one or two votes a piece, a spectacular mess. It why we have the nomination stage.

Yes, most of them do it intentionally, conclude on the data analysis on their own, thinking is the way forward.

Exactly, @Empire is an inspiration for me, his posts I do enjoy, including @skyfire, @Family sedan too. I just want this contest to be one of the best in terms of max nomination and votes.
