Something happened….
The Blackangel and one other reacted to Shagger for a topic
I enjoyed playing FFXIV a few years ago. It's a good MMO. One of the things was really great about it is that there was no role or job a single character couldn't do, so there was no need to split your efforts between multiple characters. The combat is good with a great emphasis on Co-op PvE (Player versus Environment) and the story is passable. I'd get back into it as well, but can't really afford to tight now.2 points -

Something that was unbelievable happened. I never could have thought such a thing was possible, and neither did @Rain Dew. She got me into online gaming. I’m playing FFXIV. She’s training me so that I know what the hell I’m doing, but once I have the game down, we’ll be on there a lot.1 point -
Poorly describe your favorite game
Gonassis reacted to kingpotato for a topic
Try to give a bad description of your favorite game. For example : Yelling hoarder terrorizes medieval country and kills local lizards (Skyrim) 😆1 point -

We got one
Rain Dew reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
We got a PS5 today. I bought it as a gift for @Rain Dew. Someone was selling one on Craigslist. The guy said he got it thinking he would play on it, but his heart was in PC gaming. So I pawned one of my guns, and we went and got it. It’s a disc capable version. Obviously. But we finally got one. So we’re caught up with the new gen of games. We just want an Xbox Series X instead of the Series S that we have. The guy included some games since he wasn’t going to need them. Spiderman Miles Morales, Nioh, and Nioh 2. We’re looking forward to playing this thing.1 point -
Do games feature too much item collection?
Withywarlock reacted to Reality vs Adventure for a topic
A lot of items in games have nothing to do with completionism, it's just there just to be there. That's what breaks immersion for me. Games try too hard to have all sorts of things to craft, potions to make, and that type of design takes away from the scenery. I even find myself missing out on what a character is saying because I'm looking around for stuff before the character leads me off somewhere. I walk into a room, and I have to remind myself to STOP, just look around the room first before searching for things. Games that don't have so many things to look for end up being much more immersive for me. It's those times when I can break away from robotic gameplay and pay attention to surroundings and put some thought into that instead, is when I enjoy the game the most. That's what brings about memories, not the dizzying haze of looking which way for items.1 point -

10 years, with no new Silent Hill game...
Knight Plug reacted to Crazycrab for a topic
It did not.... But that being the series has included a vampire that can walk on water and a man who could turn himself into a swarm of hornets so zombies don't actually fall that far away from the box. Not that I'm defending Metal Gear Survive, it fucking blows gas!1 point -

I understand everyones enthusiasm, but even if they did make a new game, I don't have much faith in Konami that its going to be that good. Look what they did to my boy, MGS. Fingers crossed that someday they prove me wrong but I'm not holding my breath.1 point -

You're right too. Most of my weekends is used for entertainment, their is no time I'll be around gaming and internet with all my time, I need some refreshment too and around movies and watching soccer matches.1 point -

i love Resident Evil, but outlast makes you visit the toilet in your place without moving a single leg, yet it's not banned, it should be the gore in Manhunt 😛1 point -

I don't think that at all, their get somebody else rich quick scheme's. The only realistic way to make any money is to sell somebody else tokens, then the only way for them to make to sell to others. It's literally a pyramid scheme.1 point

Does Anyone Play Play2Earn Games?

I was there before, trying to get my own fair share of NFTs, and sell at opensea NFT marketplace, or another NFT marketplace, and earn monetary value. But it seems that, earning is very slim there.1 point -
Post your unpopular opinions ?
Rain Dew reacted to killamch89 for a topic
I have the same problem - they normally lie down where my feet are but when I start sleeping, those bastards come up the bed and lie on me. The part that gets me is when they're done sleeping they start hitting me with their paw and waking me up. That's why I always let them sleep outside in their kennel at nights. Otherwise, I'd never get any meaningful rest.1 point -

I lose at least half of the bed when my pitbull sleeps with me. Even if @Rain Dew isn't there she still sleeps on me. She won't go to the empty side of the bed. My chihuahua does the same thing. She curls up in the bend of my knees to sleep. Those two pin me down and don't allow me any room on the bed. They have even pushed me out of the bed once. I woke up when I hit the floor, and they looked down at me like "Whatcha doing down there?" Bitches.1 point -

I love it so much! I was about 10 years old when my brothers started to play this game. From the first sight I hated it and I hated that my bros spent hours and hours racing and not playing anything else (I liked to watch them playing platformers). I tried to spoil the disc but scratched it on the wrong side😅 And then smth strange happende.. I don't even remember how this game won my heart. We've completed all the adventures and tried out all the tracks and I still remember that time like one of the happiest in my life. It's a pity that no remastered version came out so far. I would be excited to play it on PC (I don't want to buy a console))) ) with cool graphics and perhaps new characters, tracks, challenges...)1 point -
I'm very sure that they wouldn't even allow you to sleep in there comfortably as well. They will still drag it out with you.1 point

What games make the best use of controller vibration?
Family sedan reacted to Justin11 for a topic
If you set your controller in vibration, and your vehicle hit another, definitely it will vibrate, and you'll feel the impact.1 point -
There are many members on VGR that have run forums/sites now or in the past, I know basic. Truth to be told that all people that are into web development should know all basics and also know the area. Other than that, do not bother. I myself have been running forums for good 10 years and I own a gaming related site for the last seven years and before that a GTA clan. Being mods for others for even longer.1 point

Why is PC less popular?
Rain Dew reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
From what I can see, assuming PC is truly less popular than console gaming, the only reason I could see for it is the cost. A good gaming PC can run you up to $2000 for a basic prebuilt PC. If you're building your own I don't know the actual cost range, but I'm sure it's not cheap either. For example, My PC is a prebuilt gaming PC and it cost $1800. But that was several years ago. A couple years ago I bought @Rain Dew a gaming laptop (again prebuilt) that cost $4000. The faster and more powerful they are, the more they cost. Whereas with a console they tend to run $500 or less for a brand new one. Depending where you get it. But unless you're buying from a scalper (fuck you if you are) you're never going to spend PC money. So I think some console gamers just settle because they can't afford PC gaming. Which in turn, ups the numbers of console gamers, which in turn, skews the numbers to yield an incorrect ratio of popularity. I'm a console gamer by preference, but that's not to say I have never, or will never game on PC. One of my favorite games is only available on PC, as no consoles will release it. Hatred.1 point -
I played farming sim for many hours 😛 but it doesn't take in the realife in terms of doing it reallife, I can say yes to that also. I experienced on being on the farm and been to the stock yards where they sold cows and live animals 🙂 Back 13 years ago I used to live in the farming countryside1 point
