Yeah, it's been like my next life and I have a stuffed trophy to show for it. It's my own team created when I download the game that I'm managing. I'm still alright and going strong in it 😂 but I'm planning on retiring after my 100th season.2 points

Three games recently. Tales of Arise: On that second playthrough. Chorvs: A very promising open wold space combat game with RPG elements that was recently added to Gamepass. Rise of The Triad: A bit of nostalgia. An FPS from 1995 I played back in the day. Just picked up on sale from GOG for 49p. It looks like a Wolfenstein clone, but below the surface this is weird game.2 points

Sequels that feel radically different from it's predecessors?
Withywarlock reacted to NightmareFarm for a topic
What games do you think feel completely different from previous games in the series or like it's another series? Spin offs and reboots/remakes don't count. My list: - Aragami 2(they did a complete 180 from AG 1. Pretty much a sequel in name alone) - Final Fantasy XIII(Feels like a different type of RPG but still not as changeful as XV) - Final Fantasy XV(Probably the most different feeling game on this list. An FF game in name alone) - Devil May Cry 5(probably the least changeful compared to the other games on this list but still very different than prev games with influence from the reboot) - Metal Gear Solid V(Completely changes the formula with open world mission based structure) - Darksiders 3(went the soulsy route)1 point -

Today is the day, its already been semi confirmed that they will be focusing on games that were already previusly announced so we are not expecting any more new annoucements. But we will have more information on the new upcoming games, so far the only game that has been confirmed is Hollow Knight Silksong1 point -
Sequels that feel radically different from it's predecessors?
NightmareFarm reacted to HowHammerYou for a topic
Breath of the Wild: It just doesn't feel like a Zelda game, it feels like an Ubisoft mono-genre game with a Zelda skin pack applied. This is one of my biggest gripes with it. Final Fantasy XV: Threw away any pretense of being a classic JRPG to become an inferior version of Kingdom Hearts. Bomberman Zero: Threw away the cartoony aesthetic of the older games to look like a halo/doom clone with nothing but the name to link it to its predecessors.1 point -
I can see a lot parallels here. The article talks about how this keeps the soldier's mind sharp and training at the forefront of his/her thoughts when not on duty, but I also think butting into the situations in the game without the fear that would be associated with that situation and help them bring that to job. This could be similar thing for F1 drivers as in a game they might push closer to the limits than they might do in a real car and help them find some extra lap time in the simulation to bring to the track. That along with the aforementioned keeping the mind sharp to the job when not in the car. That makes sense to me.1 point

Playing those sim racing games surely have a way of helping them get better at their driving. It's even seen in the military sector as well where the marines are now into playing lots of military shooting games to have a feel of simulation combats. They help them prep their mindset of what to expect in battle front. I found this article Here interesting on how US military uses violent video games to train soldiers.1 point

I don't know how hard you're looking, but they're really not similar. Like at all. The body's different finish, the fret inlets and pick guard are a different style, the body of the guitar itself is an entirely different shape and they're a different brand (Eddie's is a Gibson, while Joel's is custom Taylor that was designed especially for the game). The two guitars technically aren't even the same functionally as Eddie's is a 21 fret, whilst Joel's is a larger, 24 fret model. The only things that I can see that's similar between the two is the finish of the fretboard with that dark, mahogany look, and the chrome finish of the tuning pegs, and that's about it.1 point

Weirdly enough, right after typing that I did actually find a story on Planet F1 that is does connect the real sport with games in a rather interesting way. Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill has theorised that current McLaren driver Daniel Riccardo may be struggling the way he is right rough now because of his younger rival's exposure and close involvement with video games and racing E-Sports. There are several drivers, like defending World Champion Max Verstappen and Riccardo's team mate Lando Norris, frequently play the games, spend a lot of time on sim's and compete in racing E-Sports. After Michal Schumacher, drivers really needed to start young in karting to develop into the F1 talent we seen today. Michel's path to Formula 1 was revolutionary at the time and set the trend for how the F1 talent of today get into the sport. While success in Karting and lower league open cockpit racings is still very important now, It does sound plausible to me that this new generation of drivers may be gaining an edge with E-Sports, sim' racing and video games that older drivers have not. When I looked into the kind of professional jobs a gaming company can offer someone with the skills to work and deliver for them, I found their offer on Sale's representative very interesting with a pay of about $59,594 per year. It's a good figure I can take up easily but I'm kind of good in the sales department.1 point

DC reacted to HowHammerYou for a topic
I'm a former video game collector. I mostly got out of contemporary gaming at the end of the 8th console gen to focus on other hobbies, and because I'm opposed to the direction contemporary game development is going in. I came here because I got tired of not having a place to discuss things like this.1 point -
Do you ever take time out to clean your video games?

Arcade racers were pretty much dead in 2008 when you look at similair games at the time like Split/second velocity and blur they all have one thing in common that they were exellent arcade racers but they also flopped salewise, so you can't fault Ea from trying something new i guess. While i don't hate that game as much as you do and had some fun with it, it was clear in 2008 the burnout formula had overstayed their welcome as was need for speed btw should have killed off that franchise when they were at it. My favourite will always be Burnout legends on the psp, don't know why Ea never bothered to port it to modern hardware. The same could be said about the Ridge racer franchise, Namco pretty much killed it with releasing Ridge Racer Unbounded in 2012 a game that had nothing to do with the original ridge racer concept, quite the same as burnout paradise. But Man if i had to choose i'd much rather see a new ridge racer going back to it's roots then a new burnout. The only long arcade racer franchise i can think off that still is going strong is need for speed, eventough it has been struggling for an own identity for years. Sometimes i'm wondering why Ea still bothers with need for speed, the whole you vs the cops it's been there done that i guess. Well maybe they should reboot the Burnout franchise for a change! Put a different studio on it with people who were fans of the first games. Also outrun 2 (2006 coast to coast) -> best arcade racer ever, come on sega port it to current gen hardware already 🙂1 point

The remake looks great. It reminds me of when Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid were remade for GameCube with the updated engines of RE0 and MGS2, and these were remade 6 years after the originals.1 point -

It's just like what we have in some games too where a company knows they don't have any competitors in their particular franchise, so they do as they like. EA with FIFA is the culprit here.1 point

Okay, that's good too. YouTube is actually a good platform where you can get views and also prospective scouts who might be interested in your videos and want to see you play professionally. Good luck in all you do.1 point

First off, @Ducksfan, welcome to VGR, but if you don't mind, we're going to share a cab and take a trip down real street. Nobody just comes onto a forum then immediately posts a fairly brazen topic and links to an article "they just found" from blogsite with such a suspiciously similar name to the screen name they have chosen. So the thought occurs that you have some sort of association with that website. A further thought occurs that it may in fact be your website. The rules on promotional posts on VGR are very clearly spelled out in our Forum Rules and Guidelines: Because of this, I am removing the link to the website in question from your post, but I will keep the thread open and take no further action under the assumption that understand this and that you won't try to re-up that link. I'm also going to move the topic to General Gaming as this isn't really a "news" topic. With or without that link this qualifies as an opinion piece rather than current affairs or news.1 point

It was boring during my PS2 days, my controllers doesn't last past two weeks, which sees the analog sticks waning off. I know it was cheap to get, but spending that money every two weeks was distorting alot.1 point

Netflix is making a BioShock movie
StaceyPowers reacted to Empire for a topic
Prooobably going to suck due to the filmmakers having little to no idea about what the source material is about, so instead of an ultra-tense cautionary tale about science without morals run amok we just get a bunch of jump scares and a cameo from one big daddy. Everyone who wants to make a video game adaptation should be strapped down and forced to watch the source material, then Arcane as a primer on how to do it. Clockwork Orange style.1 point -
