  1. Is it real? Leaks from tomorrow's Bethesda/Xbox show

  2. Are there games that are an “event” to you to play, and that you consistently put other things on hold for? Like whenever I play a BioShock game, I usually just abandon other parts of my nighttime routine until I am done.

  3. It's basically an upcoming PS5, mysterious spin off game that takes place in San Francisco. However, all there is thus far on show from Naughty Dog, is this concept art seen in the following presentation. It evolved from the previously confirmed, but scrapped 'Factions' mode.

  4. “The only motivation option there is money” makes it sound sleazy. Tbh, you have to play the game to review, not beat and master, and there’s usually a time frame where you have to report back. If I gave you a game and told you to report back tomorrow to write up the review, what do you think is more important to focus on? Mastering the game, or playing enough to capture enough data to write up the review? I’m also pretty sure if you’re a professional reviewer, you have a schedule that involves a list of games to review, and this is going to be a regular thing, so your gaming time is focusing on doing it for work. I think people need to think about the logistics of this, as the way a reviewer has to consume the same media vastly differs from the regular consumer.

  6. This thread has been locked at the request of the OP @kingpotato on the account of this thread becoming yet another victim of post farming. And of course, it's all the usual suspects.

  7. Finally, there's one who's giving more time to this kind of game, so it doesn't look like I'm the only freak here 😂. Well done mate. You're doing well!!

  9. You're right about that look of being majestic. It's got a similarity with Maleficent.

  11. I'm very much interested in Avowed, Forza Horizon 5, Hellblade 2, and Everwild. I think that Hellblade 2 would be the hottest pick for most.

  12. I haven't played the game that much but from what I've heard about it, it seems like a lot gamers are interested in it. I'm not sure if that makes it underrated.

    FIFA 99

I enjoyed my old days playing FIFA 99 and the ones before it. But as for the latest releases, I have given up on them 100%.

  15. An underrated game to me is a game that was well received by "critics" at it's time of release but sold poorly and has gathered a cult following over the years. A perfect example of this would Beyond good and evil, a game that has received a cult status over the years. I think It's too early to call a game that is barely over a year old an underrated game, but i'll agree with that it's quite likely a game like ghostrunner will gather a cult following in years to come. I've yet to buy it but i will pick up a copy as soon as i find a physical copy of it, you know i may just do that right now. Also when I read @Withywarlock exellent criteria for an underrated game a more recent example would be mad max the videogame, it got mixed reviews but everybody who played the game doesen't have a bad word to say about the game. Which would be my top pick for underrated game of the eight generation of consoles.

  16. Haha, your username @NightmareFarm already tells me you are a night crawler like me. Lol I can't play horror games during the day never, except on very rare occasion. I play them at night. Do you play more horror games as well? Like dying light, resident evil , blood borne and the likes.

  17. Today is actually my brothers birthday and he is a game lover as well. So we all plan on going out to a fancy restaurant before heading to the gaming complex to play some virtual games and as many games as we could lay our hands on today. Lol

  18. That's true mate, we all understand underated in different ways, I feel @NightmareFarm is referring to those games that though they were good wasn't a regular topic around gamers. Every single game out there got a review either good or bad on your favorite game review site or on YouTube by people who make Game related contents. This doesn't mean that the game is doing well as you would expect it been that you have played it and experienced it for yourself and feel the game is really good.

  19. My problem with the discussion of 'underrated' is that people can't agree on what it means. Take Ghostrunner for instance: Metacritic has collated reviews between 76% to 81% on four systems; Opencritic says 81% (76% for its DLC, Project_Hel); it has Very Positive reviews on Steam (its DLC has reviews as low as 'Positive'.) I don't see how this game begins to qualify to be underrated. It's not an unknown entity, it had an animated store advert on Steam's front page (what more could a PC release ask for?), and made headlines upon its reveal and release. A game I'd nominate as being less-than-adequately rated is Warhammer: Mark of Chaos/Battle March, one of last pushes for console real-time strategy (RTS) games. Fantasy Warhammer with 2 or 3 armies depending on if you played MoC or BM, with great controls, tone, story, voice acting, script, and even some features that Total War could learn from (like embedding a leader into a unit). Given this was the precursor to Total War: Warhammer, I think it deserves a lot more credit retrospectively than it had at the time, but then we can only review games for what they are, not what they will be. I've measured the reviews of the game (55-65% on Metacritic) and find them wanting, as they have few specific complaints or ones that simply don't stand up to taking the time to learn (which the games give you plenty of.)

  20. That’s an interesting take that I’ve never thought of. That’s kind of what the rift in the film and music review industry has with the average consumer. In those industries, the reviewers tend to have watched/listened to several times more films or albums than the average individual, so their tastes and opinions will differ wildly from the average consumer, who only consumes a mere fraction of the content. So a film/album that’s overdone/cliche to a critic could be new and innovative for the average consumer. That’s where you end up with these films and albums having sales figures that don’t match the opinions of the reviewers.

  21. Actually you can. Go to the PlayStation website and you can register to be notified when they have some available. It takes a long time but they sell them at their retail price. I registered last year, and they didn't have enough supply until last month. I would have bought one, but didn't come up with the money in time. They give you about a 10-15 minute shopping window, and they bring you into a queue to be let into the store. So it's a lot of waiting, but they are selling them from the website

  22. One of my cyber tech guys told me that the best ways hackers take over gamers accounts are through Data breaches, Cross-site scripting, and Credential stuffing. You can also add using weak passwords too.

I will and you don't have to worry about it. I picked up the game from here (this thread), so I wouldn't overlook it when I get the game.

    Being Talked Down to

After working in IT, I realized a lot of PC gamers aren’t really that knowledgeable in computers, but act like they’re computer geniuses. They’re pretty clueless on computer stuff outside of gaming, because they tend to hunk that if something isn’t catered to gaming, it’s useless.

  25. If it's something that's not serious which I can attend to anytime without any problems, I'd play my games and get to it later but if it needs my immediate attention, the games wait.

  26. generally speaking, I don't do that but there are a lot of games that I enjoy paying and I can hardly quit. Had there been no other work to do I would have been spending many hours playing.

  29. Nothing hurts more like losing something that was gifted to you which you do love so much. I would be sad over it for a long time as if that happened to me. I do have a PS4 but looking for Atari compilations on the console never occurred to me for once. Thanks for mentioning that, I think that would be a good way to start.
