  1. 1: Gameplay over everything else. The game needs to be fun to play with no unnecessary parasitic systems interfering with the core gameplay, and realism needs to take a backseat to convenience. I don't care if I parked my horse 20 miles from my current position, make it come when I whistle for it! 2: Offline Playability. The entire game needs to be playable without an internet connection 3: Polish. Kinda related to #2, but if you can't ship your game in a state where it's fully playable right out of the box, don't expect me to buy it. 4: Sound Direction. As long as the music isn't repetitive, characters don't make me want to punch them when I see their mouths open, and the sound of my character's footsteps doesn't annoy me, we're good. 5: Story. Just have a story that makes sense. It doesn't really even have to be that good. A lot of the most "playable" games I've ever played don't even have stories. 6: Graphics/Visuals. This is mostly an obsolete category for judging games today, as with the funding and talent available to today's developers, it's nearly impossible to make a truly bad-looking game unless you really try to.

  2. I have a question that I feel like probably has an obvious answer, but I don’t know what it is. Why must one pay for a subscription like PS Plus to game online at all on a console? I get the need to pay for servers, but sometimes one does that directly through a game (i.e. Minecraft). So why must one also pay for PS Plus for this purpose?

  3. Ever have a game or a TV show that you remember playing or seeing, but just can't remember what it was called? Well, maybe we can help. Describe a thing in media that you remember playing or seeing, and maybe people can guess what its name is.

  4. No that's pretty much the whole thing, the game world is dead, he runs like an ice skater and the game looks like a fan-made product. I'm in total agreement - I hope this tanks worse than Anthem did for EA just to teach these idiots a lesson. Not everything should be open-world.

  5. This was yet another franchise that had no business going open-world. The Sonic series' gameplay has always been about going in one direction very fast. They're basically racing games. Making an open-world Sonic game is like dropping a Lamborghini in the middle of a forest and removing the finish line. The Legend of Sonic: Breath of the Knuckles is just another cash grab driven by investors who can't comprehend that no matter how much money it made, you can't just turn anything into Fallout.

  6. You are right, he looks funny while running. There is no movement except his feet tottering across the ice. The background looks empty and blurry which kind of makes it seem less awe inspiring. I imagine an open world Sonic to be full of life and color. I watched the beginning clip of some of the gameplay so that might not be the best representation of the game, and I'm not sold on it if it was. Being up high in altitude like that, I expect a lot more to look at. Those are my thoughts.

  8. How could you do that to Mad Max that is such a good game. I know we do get Carried away at times by other games but there are some games that are so good that I can't help but complete the game. Mad Max, Blood Borne, red dead redemption , Elden ring , call of duty are all included I just can't play them half way no matter the circumstance. Just take a look at this gameplay triller of mad Max once again mate.

  11. It's a pity I can't get my hands on a PS5 or else I'd have already been playing Ghost of Tsushima. I'm glad that it'll be coming to PC in the coming years though.

  12. It's actually a rerelease and not a sequel. Sorry for the misinformation. The game was a huge success in 2021 but it was exclusively on PC so iron gate studios is working on rereleasing it on other platforms like Xbox soon.

  13. It's one of those games that just got lost in the large catalogue of games I wanted to play/finish. It's not the only great game I've played that has suffered that fate 🤣

  15. It's something to look out for because RE8 has never been done in third person. RE 7 and 8 are both masterpiece I was still shocked but excited to see the Duke as a villain, in the original idea he was planned to be the 5th lord but reused as the salesperson of the game. I don't know what to expect, he looks like a bad guy but he might not be , just as a lot of people thought Chris was a villain at first.

  16. We do have a Cryptocurrency thread for this topic right here. You guys can discuss it there but if you want to get started in Crypto, Bitcointalk is one of the oldest and most reliable places to start. You can find detailed explanations on Cryptocurrency. That's how I became somewhat knowledgeable of Crypto.

  17. The third person view is okay but at least to me, it's not a big deal because we used to have both POV in previous RE games.

  20. Lenovo has some very good gaming laptops so I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. It's just that their products tend to be a tad overpriced - not as bad as Razer or Alienware but there's a bit of a premium to be paid for their best products.

  21. I even do that - playing on different platforms from time to time just to give myself a new taste of games. It's like having favorite games on different platforms. If I completed the one on PS4, I would switch to the one on Nintendo Switch and PC etc.

  22. It's just like how most people are jumping into playing Elden Ring ever since it was launched. I know at least 5 of my guys that were never really into gaming but because of the publicity the game had, the got it and still play it till now. The good side of it is that it's not bedridden with bugs.

  23. That's a fact!! It saddens me that the man have retired from active wrestling. Only if it's possible to beat age, I'd have him do it and still wrestle. You're right about the bugs they 2K have been killing the franchise with in recent years. I can't forget the crap they did with WWE 2K20.

  24. I'm not so optimistic about this news: it could be anything from a port of the first game to mobile to a runner game... on mobile. If it is going to be a remaster, I can see it being successful given Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Kao the Kangeroo have come out swinging after over a decade of silence. But honestly, I don't see Squenix doing much original with the property. In the 3D games there was a lot of environmental jokes and crude humour from Gex. I suppose the appeal was a vocal character (who said more than "woah!") and appeared on multiple platforms. Interestingly Rob Cohen - one of the writers for The Simpsons - penned the script and most of Gex's one liners, voiced by actor and standup comedian Dana Gould. I didn't really get on with the games myself, but I can totally appreciate the rather rabid cult fandom behind the games.

    Gotham Knights RPG

It's going to flop and most people can already tell - the part I still can't fathom is why didn't they implement Arkham's fluent fighting system. The fighting system in this game is so clunky and slow.

  30. Yeah but let's get back on topic - we do have another thread for discussing that case. As I previously stated, it makes sense because the software updates will render certain features in older games obsolete so it makes sense to get developers to update their games every now and then.

You do have a valid point but I don't want to play any game where social politics based on our current reality is a dominant part of it. People generally play games to take their minds off real world issues and to have fun and politics isn't.

  32. It's just something I would kill to see. I also want to visit Easter Island, Machu Picchu, the Pyramids, a few specific Greek temples to the Gods/Goddesses, the Great Wall of China, Spedlins Tower, Ben MacDhui, Auschwitz, the Colosseum, Teotihuacan, Nazca Lines, Uluru, and see Mt. Everest just to name a few things.

  33. Watching the Red Wings win the cup in 2008. I was elated seeing that. We haven't taken the cup since then, and we lost a LOT of our best players. Some due to retirement, others due to injury. We even traded a couple of our best, which still pisses me off. Also the first game I went to was a win for us. It was in the final minutes of the game and we were down by two. But we pulled it out and won. The second game I went to was on my birthday, and we won that one. So I've had some good moments with my team.

  35. Thanks for the clarification you've carried out on both games. I never played WRC games nor British rally games, I'm just concentrated on GT 7 at the moment and few others. I love GT due to the Mod option, you purchase mod, rebrand your vehicle, upgrade vehicle and enjoy the beauty of racing game.

  38. I try to do this. It does mean missing out on the zeitgeist though, which kind of sucks. Skyrim was a buggy mess when it launched, but was probably my fondest memory of gaming, because everyone was playing it when it released, even people that don’t really play games. Overall waiting is the better solution, but not a perfect solution.

  44. A quick note @Ryan Blake, it good practice to include links in gaming news topics. Since you mentioned "Verge" in the the title, I'll assume it's this this article from The Verge that you are referring too. This has no place in a game that is pay to play or that you need PS+ to play online, simple as that. Same story on Xbox with Xbox live. Paying to watch ads is where I draw the line.

  45. At first i tought they were cool since you really had to put some time and effort in to get that 1000 gamer score or platinum trophy. These days you can play hundreds of (mostly bad) games that can be completed in a few hours and get a platinum or all the gamerscore it takes away that special feeling for me. I think they should start changing up the system the way it is now and give longer games more gamer score ( or multiple platinum thropies ) then shorter games, like forza 4 toke about 300 hours to complete and something like firewatch you can beat in an afternoon and get the same gamerscore it doesen't make sense.

  47. No it's not. In the public school system, it doesn't exist. Teachers can and will teach about racism, but CRT is not a lesson. It is a class in higher education such as college, but is typically only taken by those going into fields that specifically deal within that area of humanity. Fields such as psychology. Some even take it as an elective. But the public school does not teach such a class. You say you live here, but the more you talk the more you make it seem like you have never even once set foot on American soil.

  48. The teaching of Critical Race Theory isn't actually a thing. No public school system in the country teaches it. It's a talking point from right wing radicals to use as a base to attack freedoms. They use it to attack teachers and education in general. They have decided that when all else fails, to make up something completely false and try that. They're pulling shit out of their ass (no pun intended) that is so far out of left field it's circling the moon. They're insane. Plain and simple.
