  3. I love WRC 8 so much that now I'm considering getting WRC 9. I know 10 is out, but I've heard that it's not a big enough step forward in quality and it may actually even be worse than 9. I've also heard that WRC 9 has better handling and more historic rally cars than 8. I'm all psyched up to get 9 and then I'll probably play them inter-changably.

  4. Aliens, I mean obviusly there are other life forms in this universe besides earth, but I was always skeptical when it comes to "third kind encounters" for example last week some people saw some lights on the sky during late hours in the night, so everybody was about it, But this happened on a beach near SanDiego and around that same area there are some US military and Navy bases and also a spaceX station so they are usually doing some type of exercise or rocket experiments, so basically there is a possible logical explanation about it. So back to my point, I was arguing with my wife about this because she is a firm believer that aliens walk among us, so we started to watch some youtube documentaries about the Drake equation (The Drake Equation is used to estimate the number of communicating civilizations in our galaxy, or more simply put, the odds of finding intelligent life in the Milky Way.) what made me change my mind is that they mentioned the Dark Forest theory, according to the Drake equation there should be about 20 civilizations in our cosmic neighborhood, according to the Dark Forest theory the universe is a huge dark forest filled with "hunters"( in this context inteligent civilizations)and they already know the existence of one another. They are both advanced enough to destroy the other, The hunter has to be careful, because everywhere in the forest are stealthy hunters like him. If he finds another life form chances are they will try to eliminate each other. Basically we already know the existance of other life forms but we dont contact them and they dont contact us because we may end up destroying each other. Sorry for the long post...

  5. You know another thing i changed my mind on recently is something gaming related as i never overly cared too much for the free to play model because it diden't concern me in the slightest and why should i be bothered about something i could care less about but that was before i have to sort off be a "father" figure for a 10 year old boy who is addicted to fortnite. It's due to @Shagger, @Crazycrab and @kingpotato exellent arguments i started caring and looking more and more into the whole free to play model and must say it's worse then the devil, especially for children who are vunerable for these type of practices, anyway everithing is already explained in detail and all there is to say has been said in this thread so no need to bring it up here.

  6. Rats, ever since i read @The Blackangel story as why she liked rats so much it moved me, that I started seeing rats completly different instead of vermin/pests what they are usually called. thanks to or blame it on her whatever you want, i now look at what Rats can be good for and there is quite a few positive things, i started by removing all the traps in my garden a few weeks ago and leave them be.

    Games that stresses you

This reminds me of playing against of the best managers in Top Eleven Football Manager called Apolo Rock. He's so good that he owns a YouTube channel where he teaches others how to train their players and be as good in the game. He's a beast of a manager.

  8. I disagree. To be clear I'm going into this post on the assumption we're talking about single player games of fiction, or at least thier single player story modes. All works of fiction are creative works. In many, if not most, of them there are obvious distinctions between those creative works along with the imaginary world they are set in and the real world we all share in our day-to-day lives in. Sometimes these distinctions are obvious, sometimes they are more subtle, it depends on the work in question. However, there is one thing that doesn't change, that we react to them (or at least when it works we do). How each Individual reacts to them will change from person to person, but the fiction can't just tell us and decide how we're supposed to feel. The writing influences and even provokes it, yes, but does not create it on it's own. That's all down to how the work taps into our own emotions and that can only established by one thing, our real world experiences. I could tell you a story about how the High Priest of Zarg acquired the Honglof from the Vindings and the impact that has on the Alliance of the Hyless and the Kark and it would mean obviously nothing to you. What's missing is context, and context is something that can't just be described, it's need relevancy. It needs to tap into how you, as a real person, feels. And those feeling can only be shaped but your own experiences in the real world. No good work of fiction will just tell that you're supposed to feel "this" about how the High Priest of Zarg acquired the Honglof from the Vindings and the impact that has on the Alliance of the Hyless and the Kark, it needs to reflect something in your reality to make feel the story than just be told it. Sometimes it's blatant, sometimes it's really subtle or something in between, but all (good) works of fiction reflect reality, that's how they have impact. That's why it really annoys me when people say to "Keep "insert real wold social/political issue" out of games/movies/TV" because those people either; Simply don't understand that's how fiction works. Don't like to see those issues reflected within "thier" fiction because don't like to be reminded of those issues in reality. Or most likely both. Just thinking of any old example, there were scores of people who hated on TLOU Part 2 because of the pro LGBTQ+ themes in the game. They always said it was "forced pollical correctness" or a "left wing agenda" or something when the truth was quite simply they didn't like those issues being reflected in thier fiction because they didn't like them being reflected in thier reality. It is literally the only reason one would have problem with it. I mean if one didn't have a problem with the LGBTQ+ people in the real world, why would it be a problem in something as arbitrary and unimportant as a video game? They may have been to stupid to realize it, but they were homophobes, simple as that. Gaming is a form of escapism and that is it's appeal, I understand that, I truly understand that, but if a game's story doesn't make you care, then it's failed. And it is not going to make you care until it taps into your real emotions and experiences that only only your life in the real world can create.

  9. The luckiest gaming experience I have had is when I was able to trash someone who I haven't been able to win in FIFA even for once 10 - 4, it was miracle and everyone who was watching us couldn't believe it. This guy was like undertaker of WWE in FIFA and nobody could match up to him without recieving it hot with many goals, I broke that Winning streak and ended his years of oppression. Lol

  10. That's just inevitable. Sony will continue to make consoles if the demand is there. Xbox as well. Games will eventually become more and more demanding, to the point that a new console will have to come out to accommodate for the bigger games. Ps6 will happen, Xbox next, probably.

  11. I've decided that if I see any of these cheat code/strategy books or even game mags in thrift stores, yard sales, etc. I'm going to pick them up. I feel like they're becoming more collectible, and I love revisiting an old magazine with all the ads from the period. I wish I took care of the gaming mags I owned. I usually destroyed them by cutting stuff out for school projects.

  12. Well there is a possibility he had a condition that was made worse by not moving from a singular location for a long time. Our bodies aren't meant to sit idle for that long. We need to move every couple hours at the least I'd say. But I think you're right. I think the Korean guy who died from a blood clot, may have had a heart condition or some other condition that was made worse by sitting for too long.

    The funniest video game

Another one funny game that I enjoyed playing back in 2010 was Octodad where you play as an octopus who goes undercover as a human dad.

  15. My best year in gaming would be 2004 and all because of all the games that was released that year. 2004 saw games like ; Metal Gear Solid 3, Halo 2, Half-life 2, World of Warcraft, GTA : San Andreas, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Counter-Strike: Source, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Metroid Prime 2, Need for Speed : Underground and so much more. It was an incredible year for gamers.
