  1. For me, it was the Chocobo Trainer Race mini game, which is also part of a side quest to get Tidus' ultimate weapon in FFX. Those stupid birds swoop in from nowhere at all, at random. I hate that mini game. I hate it with every fiber of my being. I got so upset, I almost broke my controller.

  2. I’ve made a weird discovery that I have an easier time being responsible in games in some ways (i.e. for followers, items, etc.) than I do IRL. I think it’s because IRL, I am always distracted by the need to earn a living, which consumes all my spoons and leaves little for juggling the rest of my responsibilities. In video games, we don’t have those challenges, so it is easier to put more care into things. Can anyone relate?

  3. What do you think makes for a rewarding and engaging community in an MMO? I really only have experience with MUDs, but I would generally just say that when people talk to each other and show an active interest in each other, that makes for a great experience, even if they do not all get along.

  4. Another reason why it’s interchanged a lot is because a lot of people throw those terms around as a “fancy” way to say something popular/well regarded sucks. Apparently it adds more “oomph” if you say it’s overrated/overhyped than just flat out saying you think something sucks.

  5. Overhyped and overrated are not synonymous. How many games have been talked about repeatedly in the gaming media and among gamers, that ultimately failed. GTA Trilogy is a good example of that. Overrated on the other hand, is when a game sells well, but the majority of people are disappointed with it even if they enjoy it. I would say Zelda BOTW falls into this category. Zelda is a massively popular series, but Nintendo has made some major screwups with it from time to time. While a decent game, I feel BOTW is overrated and not as good as it could have been. I still play it, but not as much as I thought I would.

  6. Unsurprisingly, despite being released so long ago, the 1060 still holds the top spot at 7.8% percent, with the most popular recently released 3000 series coming in at a pitiful 1.8 percent. The number is almost the same as it was a year ago, which is telling given that the majority of gamers haven't had access to the newest 3000 series for (more than) a year now. Therefore, one can only assume that everything went to cryptocurrency or rotted in the market for scalpers, which appears to be Nvidia's replacement for gamers.

  7. Yes and no. It depends on the game, really. In general, they can and do, but in specific, different people will respond differently to different stimuli. For instance, in World of Warcraft, it will actually induce stress with its skinnerian design principles focused on repetitive, time-consuming grinds. I've damn-near had a panic attack running raids in that game, that's how stress inducing it is (needless to say, I don't play that game much once I hit max level on any character) MSFS is very relaxing but at times that can do both, stress and not stressing out. Yet Twitch streaming also can stress anyone out with chat talking.

  8. There are many more productive things that I could/should be doing rather than gaming. I should also be writing the next great american novel, climbing mount everest, volunteering at a soup kitchen, and the list goes on, Yet I do not think that being responsible in games. You end up dead and spawning again. That can not happen in realife.

  9. - COD vanguard - GTA trilogy - BioShock infinite - All FIFA series games This games I mentioned are overrated, their prices are way too higher than what they offered to gamers in terms of satisfaction.

  10. Honestly I think it is a hell of a lot easier to be responsible in video games than it is in real life. There's so much you have to worry about when you get older. Life can be chaotic. For me, I try to be responsible in real life, as best as I can, but I've made mistakes, done dumb things and I feel like I am more responsible in games than I have been in real life. There's just so much more to life than gaming. Having to pay bills, take care of your family, buy a house, and more.

  11. To be honest, I have been a COD fan for a long time. I still have major gripes with the series, but the thing about them that I like is that they are easy to pick up and play. COD for me, has always been the same in terms of gameplay, so much so that I could pick up each version and do pretty okay once I got some time with it. Yeah the small changes may take a little getting used to, but I usually get used to the changes fast and it then falls in line with your typical COD experience. I know fans who have each game, and just really like playing it. But I also know fans who just get it to play with friends and enjoy the MP experience for a while. And of course the fans who are diehards and wait until midnight day one to get the game, and stay up days playing the MP. I used to be that person lol, but not anymore.

  12. I know there are extreme fans but not all COD fans are extreme , some only genuinely enjoy the game and like to talk about , what you said about COD fans is actually a fallacy with no real facts.

  13. You took the words right out of my mouth - I can remember far more side characters and quest from the Witcher 3 than I can remember from most of the other Elder Scrolls games and mind you, I've been playing Skyrim for more than a decade and almost every day at that.
