  1. Usually I think they're a drag(namely the difficult ones) but at the same time a game would feel incomplete without them. There are some cases in which boss battles can be very fun even if you're dying over and over to them like with games such as Metroid Dread and Batman Arkham Origins but they aren't too common. Boss Battles are mainly fun in turn based JRPGs like Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei since it feels like a tactical chess match whereas fighting regular enemies is just going through the motions to gain XP points.

  2. A gentle reminder that under the the guidelines for this subforum, all posted deals must include end dates (and start dates if known). It's OK, I'll edit your post for you, but please be mindful of that in future.

  3. Call of duty is one of the biggest game franchises today, it would be stupid on microsoft their part to go exclusive with the cod franchise when there is a lot of money to be made on a competitors platform, not only that but microsoft would piss a lot of people off with on that is never a good thing. Besides the costs of making a cod game would be impossible to recoup if they would go the exclusive route. You know this is kind of a weird one, microsoft are in a strong position to negotiate a new deal for future games but you know anything goes these days. Like i wouldn't be suprised if we start seeing xbox exclusive go to playstation and vice versa if something like horizon or days gone would end up on a xbox console sooner or later or halo on a playstation console, Mlb the show is already on xbox consoles so you never know. This is an interesting quote front the article and validates my point that microsoft isn't really interested in keeping things exclusive all that much. So nah wouldn't worry too much about Cod being xbox/pc exclusive, probably won't happen as microsoft will want to start making money of their activision-blizzard aquisition.

  4. For me, I'm just lazy these days. I have no patience to wait for a game to arrive at my door, nor do I have the patience to install a game disc when I could just pre-install the digital game early on and have it ready for me day 1. I still wouldn't mind getting the physical version, because I wouldn't mind having it in my collection, but the ease of use that comes with digital is just more preferable to me.

  5. Depends on the boss battle really. There are some games that have some unruly bosses you have to deal with. While others are kinda tame and easy to get through. For me, the boss battle can be boring, annoying, too hard, and so on. There has been games like Beyond Good and Evil, that have an end boss I just hate. The end boss for that game, made you fight with your controls switched to the opposite direction. I told this story here before, but leading up to this boss battle, I saved at a point where I couldn't get anymore health items and was stuck with lower health. Due to this, I was technically screwed, as i didn't have enough health to beat it. Well I did, but I just sucked at it. So I gave up on the game because of it lol. With boss battles, I like them to be possible at least. I don't mind them being a bit tough, but damn, give me a chance at the least. Another game that comes to mind is Dark Souls with its difficulty. But I'd say the bosses aren't always the toughest, some of the smaller enemies can be a pain in your ass. But yeah, boss battles tend to suck in a lot of games, but there are some that do the boss battle good.

  6. Fair, but this game is being built from the ground up, which makes it more than a remaster. When I hear "Remake" I think of a game that's completely new, but has the same ideas and story, has new controls, animations, design, etc. I hope it doesn't price out at $70, but with how most other games are jumping to that price now, I can see this remake being priced as so. I also just checked Amazon for some of the upcoming EA games, and Madden 23 for example is priced at $70 for the new gen versions. So my guess is that it'll go for $70 as well. But, I'll just wait for a while until the price drops before I pick it up. That's what I do for most games these days anyway.

  7. That's the thing, it doesn't have to be a GTA clone. That was just what Vince Gilligan thought of, because both properties are crime dramas. They could make a GTA clone in that world, but my guess is that it would be less open world and more linear than anything. I can't see a BB game being open world, as I think they'd want the focus to be more on the story than the game itself. That's what I think anyway. A telltale game would be great. They've done one for Game of Thrones and I could see it working for a story like BB. And true, BB has covered all the bases and the story is done. But, we have Better Call Saul, which is nearing its end, and El Camino was a movie that continued the story in some regards. It also doesn't need to be a game specifically about the main BB show. It could be a spin-off like how Better Call Saul is, or it could be a smaller story, like how El Camino was. I could see a game in the world of BB, a spin-off, a prequel, a side story during the show, etc. It could be done, it's just a matter of what they want to do. I never would expect a game that retells the same story. I think with Vince Gilligan is that he wants to tell new stories, so if anything, if this were to ever happen, it'd be a story within that world rather than a continuation or remake. Also, if they do ever make a game, Vince has to be the one in charge, and writing it of course.

    Accent?

The thing that pisses me off is people from other countries saying that we all talk with a heavy southern drawl, like a redneck. Sure there are a lot of people that do talk like that (I'm one of them) but there's a hell of a lot more. Have you ever met someone from New Jersey or Wisconsin? How about California? We also have people who live on the northern border that pick up a Canadian accent. A lot of white kids in San Diego often pick up a Mexican accent because they're right on the border and go into Tijuana on a regular basis to have fun. I'll admit that for a reason I don't even know, I've always wanted to visit Tijuana. I've been south of the border several times. With Mexico, it was always in the Yucatan peninsula. I was thinking of taking a road trip to Teotihuacan. Why am I getting off topic AGAIN? The point I'm trying to make is that there are a vast number of accents. Several coming from immigrants. Which is no bad thing. More diversity in this former country is needed.

  9. What's up @kingpotato haven't seen you around much lately, how have you been, hope all is well with you and your family? Assasin's creed 2 is still my favourite in the series if you ask me as it was the perfect sequel in many ways as in being better in everithing the first ac game was and the perfect example of how you make a sequel-> Better story, better main character, more ways to kill your target, bigger map to explore and if we are being honest historically the Italian Renaissance is one of the most beautiful times to go back to. But all praise aside while it's my favourite game in the ac series you're right it hasn't aged that well, especially control wise it's sometimes hard to make a correct jump, resulting in falling off buildings or jumping the wrong, resulting in your death in the process. But story wise it is still one of the best games in the series like the whole game is building up to this massive finale only to end with a major cliffhanger. Assassin's creed was also the franchise that put Ubisoft on the map as a major publisher before that ubisoft was sort of this company while they made good games, they were never in the true classic territory. Well when you look back at it nothing has really changed these days. Ubisoft still puts out good games and While modern ac games are good and fun to play, you probably will not remember much of them in 10 years time. I'd always compare ubisoft games with a visit to an amusement park as you look forward to it and while you play the game you'll have fun but when you are done, you forget most about it fairly quickly. Same as you @kingpotato ac 2 will always have a special place in my heart and give it a few years time and probably to no ones surprise ubisoft announces a complete remake.

  11. I've never seen First party nintendo games that came as a "download code in a box". It's usually the smaller third party companies like nacon, thq and uig entertaiment amongst some others that do this eventough there are smaller ubisoft and warner bros titles out there as code in a box aswell , but most of these releases usually have have had a cart release in the past. You know funny this came up just now i emailed a couple of companies that started doing this a few years ago and to my surpise somebody at big ben (now nacon) and thq nordic emailed me back stating that it is done to offer the games as cheap as possible in retail stores and that it is done because they coulden't predict the demand for a game before hand, obviously telling me that most of the games had a cart release before, there was some other marketing talk in there that i can't remember but in other words it came down to we're too lazy and cheap to have do another round of cart releases and we want to make as much profit as possible.

  12. Your part about the sales of the PS2, PS4, and the Switch are implying that the PS4 and Switch outsold the PS2, which hasn't happened yet, as it's still at the #1 spot of best selling consoles by a decent margin. Though to the original topic, in a way it is kind of surprising that the PS5 sold that quickly (due to how much of a pain it is to find), but the Gamecube wasn't known for selling that well either.

  13. There are games you can play while sitting down, so you don't need to utilize a full room. But I believe most VR games out there are better suited for a bigger space so you can move around without issue. There are also VR devices that you can step into that makes it easier to walk on, but I imagine that would be extremely expensive. Like the Virtusphere device. It's like a circular cage you can step in to play VR games a bit more easily. Here's their site - http://www.virtusphere.com/ There's no price info available, they require you to email them for that. I bet it's up there though.

  14. True, but it doesn't necessarily need to follow the show. It could be its own story with different characters. Or it could be a completely new take not having anything to do with the show. As well, if Vince Gilligan is interested in doing a game, maybe he can work on a whole new game with a different name and plot. It doesn't have to be Breaking Bad in name either. But I could see it selling more if it was titled in such a way. Idk, GTA these days is a lot more serious than past iterations. Especially with GTA V. It has it has its humor, but is very serious for the most part. And I think any future GTA would be even more serious. GTA Online though can be as crazy as it wants to be though. But single player it will probably focus on a more serious storyline, much like GTA IV and GTA V did.

  15. I cant really see Breaking bad as a videogame, maybe like an interactic novel. GTA is more about parody, dark humor and overall violence and action and BB is more about the story itself, there is very little relation other than drug activity. Maybe it was a good thing that it was never released

  16. Oh for sure. I have nothing against anyone who thinks it's for kids or doesn't like it. In reality it's for everyone. I found it refreshing. Plus, there is a bit of a story there, and it kinda made me sad, because the story is essentially you, growing up, moving to a new house, into a new room, going to college, buying your first house, etc. And if I remember correctly, it ends when you're an adult and married with a kid and so on. It essentially runs through life, and it is kinda depressing, but also heartwarming because it shows a little life here and there. If you like something simple, and doesn't force you to do anything a certain way (well kinda as you have to find the correct locations for everything), then you'll like this game.

  17. @Kane99 I haven’t played the ps1 tomb raider but I have played the other ones on ps4. I’m thinking of doing a play-through of those games along with evil within and resident evil.

  18. I love to try and wear them and play around with them as I never had a chance to do so 😉 However working in them ALllllllllllllllllllllll Day...? NOPE Just think the headache that I would get and the pain afterwords, I rather not thanks. You can get loppy and sick after awhile if you not going to take a break from it. I mean unless the paid is good. Still no for me.

  19. It won't last long. Nintendo will destroy this one immediately when they find out about it. Unless people can download or buy it some other way, no one is going to be able to experience it. It does look interesting, though. Being that I've really gotten into horror games in the last several months, I would definitely play it.

  21. Considering that I was mercilessly bullied all through school, from Kindergarten until I dropped out halfway into my Junior year (due to the bullying) I would never want to see any of those assholes again. The school actually offered me a diploma on the condition that I never came back. i took it because it was a win-win for me.
