  1. This is an interesting list of games banned in certain parts of the world. Some example from the article below are; Fallout 3 is banned in India because of there being two headed mutant cows, and I guess in India, cows are very sacred animals. Another example is Pokemon Go, which was banned in Malaysia because of, and I quote: "The game promoted the search for power". What that means I have no clue, and neither does the article writer lol. Even Animal Crossing: New Horizons was banned in China because people were able to make clothing items that were against China and people can go to other islands wearing it, and so they decided to just outright ban the game. There are others on this list, but you can read the rest here - https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/banned-video-games Any of these odd to you?

  2. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/tinybuild-acquires-bossa-studios-ips-for-3m This is interesting. I had no idea TinyBuild was doing that good, but I guess they're doing great. They spent $3 million on Bossa Studios, but they also paid another $5.4 million for Russian studio Konfa Games. Had no idea they would make these moves. But I'm interested to see what this brings. Also, Bossa Studios did games like Surgeon Simulator, I am Fish and I am Bread. And going forward, TinyBuild will be the development team working on these IPs.

  3. I had no idea rollercoaster tycoon was still around but oh man, i remember soaking hours on end on rollcoaster tycoon 1 and 2 back in the day on my dad his computer, shame to see what once was such a great franchise to be in such dire state like this and probably being milked dry for all that they possibly can.

  4. my only issue is the 5 yr olds that are playing shooters. i don't think they should be exposed to that at such a young age. it shouldn't be considered normal for them. jmo

  5. Children enjoy video games. How old should a child be before he or she is allowed to play video games?

  6. I'll throw Batman Beyond for the PS1 in the mix as a contender. It's been years since I've played it and I still remember it as absolutely awful.

  7. A kid I went to high school with, used to play COD games a lot, he still does in fact, and during the COD years on the 360, I remember him often tallying his win-loss record when he did 1V1 games. Had a record for that, as well as quick scope matches. He would often be challenged by people and would face them. Anyway, the topic isn't about him, it's about if you tally your online career at all. Do you count the amount of wins and losses you have? Or do you just not care enough to do that? I don't care enough to mark down that stuff. But I know some people think it's special. Most online games will give you these details anyway. But, would you still tally your win/losses?

  8. Ever since Microsoft released the XBox One Pro Controller for their platform gamers have been wondering when and/or if Sony would do the same for PlayStation. There has been a number of third party controllers over the years from the likes of Namco and Razer but nothing from PlayStation themselves... Until now. They have just announced the DualSense Edge, a customisable version of the Dual Sense with swappable thumbsticks, adjustable triggers, custom profiles amoung other features. https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/08/sony-reveals-official-ps5-pro-controller-dualsense-edge So what do you think of the Dual Sense Edge?

  9. Well it looks like this sale is complete, as Embracer Group now owns Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montreal, Square Enix-Montreal, and possibly more assets to come. You may have heard a while back that Embracer was attempting to purchase all of these studios. I don't know what Square Enix Montreal does, but I imagine it's not all of Square Enix correct? Eidos Montreal I believe made Hitman for example. It's said to include 50 other back catalog games, so we might be seeing some old titles from these studios making a comeback. Would be cool. Here's their press release on this: https://embracer.com/release/embracer-group-completes-acquisition-of-crystal-dynamics-eidos-montreal-square-enix-montreal-amongst-other-assets/

  10. Howdy, folks! Hello, my name is Robert, and I couldn't be happier to be joining the VGR team. The NBA 2K and NHL series are two of my favorite types of games.

  11. Having Cristiano Ronaldo benched in two consecutive matches is a bold statement that his time in Manchester United is almost up. Indeed, I'm very happy for dropping of the big head Maguire. He's cost us more than enough. I can't wait to see us get back to the top where we used to be.

  14. Nintendo may be the only one keeping exclusively on their table. Sony and Xbox may be into sharing games, but I don't think Nintendo would ever do it. If anything I think we could see Nintendo allowing some games from Xbox and PlayStation. Kinda like how Nintendo tested up with Xbox. But I forget the reason.

  15. Just saying, even an interesting game could fail as a free to play game. It helps for something to look good, interesting, entertaining etc. But it doesn't always mean that game will do well. Marvel Heroes was a free to play game that should have been better. It was free to play, allowed you to be a superhero I think, and of course the marvel characters. It had every chance to succeed but it failed. There was also this cool looking mech game that was online and free to play. It had really good graphics, but I don't remember much else about it. I remember downloading it on my 360 I think, and trying it once and hating it. I also don't think there was many people playing. The good thing about free to play as well, is that you can try the game out and if you don't like it, and you didn't spend a dime on it, that's a win in my book lol. 😄

  16. I feel like the embracer group has been a breath of fresh air in the gaming industry, like a big company that is still willing to take a gamble on a new ip or a franchise that has been considered long dead by many. Wheter or not their games are good let's leave that in between but they put out a variety of stuff under their different publisher labels (deep silver/thq nordic/etc) it's kinda hard not to like them as a company from a neutral standpoint.

  17. Same here. I remember wanting to get a Sega Genesis forever when I was a kid. Bugging my dad to get one until he finally got us one for Christmas. I had a nes before it, but the genesis was the first console bought for my brother and I. And it was special for us. Then we got a PS1 for another Christmas and that too was pretty special. I get that feeling everytime I buy a new console. But it's not 100% the same as it was when we were kids.

  18. What if buying him all this things you mentioned and at the end your dad showed no interest in whatsoever related to racing game? Wouldn't it be a waste of money for you? 😂. But I wouldn't discourage you dude for what you want to get your dad into, it's a good means of bringing your dad having fun of his life.

  19. Honestly now adays you would have to completely monitor your child / restrict them from anything connected to the internet, television , phones etc if you wanted to keep them away from violence, guns, murder, drama, sex, or really anything a child should probably avoid. Me and all my friends grew up playing band of brothers style games, 007 and countless other games that involved killing each other. The issue is the combination of the current society and these games/ other related things which breed a risk factor. I remember my youngest brother had a name "A 5 year old" on games so whenever he would kill you online it would say "you've been killed by a 5 year old", or "you've killed a 5 year old" and it was the most comical thing ever. Especially on world of warcraft XD

  20. Actually a great topic, I feel gaming can build a great adult depending on what games you get involved in at an early age. If it wasn't for games I def wouldn't be who I am or where I am today and I will surely throw my children into MMORPGS and single player Sim style/age of empire games from an early age. Ofc they will have books and documentaries thrown down their throats too. < edit changed "though" to "too" EOS

  21. Yup exactly. We did this a lot for the young kids who wanted to play, but couldn't grasp how to really play. It worked for a while, but they would often catch on eventually. But in a way it's like a right of passage to be a gamer.

  22. I wouldn't say it's about not being able to go from PC to console. I have no issues gaming on console, but It's more of a matter of being able to afford the console. I can get more use out of my PC than a console these days anyway. But, if I had the money, I would get a PS5 as well.

  23. Haha thats so funny XD I know in China almost all games you can play with foreigners are banned though, they want absolutely noooo one communicating with the outside world TBH unless its to shittalk people overseas xdddd Loot boxes are def pretty much gambling and Malaysia means that it makes you want to chase "power" and if I'm not mistaken Malaysia is heavily Muslim.

  24. As long as the kids at 7 years old are playing the right video games, it's going to impact on them positively. Where there's always a big struggle is when kids at such young age aren't being monitored with what they are allowed to play, that messes up entirely everything for them.

  25. I've played a lot of worse games but one game that always stood out to me as the biggest garbage i've played over the years was Charlie's Angels on the ps2 the fact that i paid full price for it made it even worse. Yes shame on me i know.

    Spyro the Dragon

I would've thought the same over a decade ago. I hated A Hero's Tail, but I came to love it because its technically competent, has a good sense of humour, knows its design philosophy and executes it well. It's not the Spyro game we're used to which made for a jarring experience ("so when do I get into a portal to a new level? What do you mean portals exist only for Sgt. Byrd? HE does the Speedways?!"), but it's still a good game at its core. As for Attack of the Rhynocs (or Spyro: Adventure as it's called here, not to be confused with Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure), I didn't particularly like it but I can't say I hated it. I do however dislike Spyro: Season of Ice, the sequel to Season of Flame, because it was another isometric game that didn't do much to improve on the formula. Amazingly I still liked Spyro: Fusion on GBA. Well, liked it slightly more than Season of Ice, in as much as I like flushing my own head down the toilet once more than I would twice. Nobody can blame you for picking those games. My least favourite entries have to be the Legend of Spyro trilogy which rebooted the series. I'm not a fan of that PS2 platform game combat that everyone raved about, and the story was just too much. Its only real feat was hiring as many celebrities for voices as they did, and in terms of celebrity voices Tom Kenny (Spyro's voice in 2, 3, and Enter the Dragonfly) and Jess Harnell (voice actor of Crash Bandicoot, and main antagonist Red in A Hero's Tail) were the best the series have ever had, and only really needed.

  28. In your case you were the deserving champion but in mine I was only trying hard to break the record of the dude. I succeeded that one time and afterwards it felt like the curse was broken and every other player started recording wins against him. Lol I literally broke the losers curse😁

I've been in one accident. It was not my fault and I suffered a concussion. I made a full recovery but it took some time and various therapies. I am a very cautious driver and fortunately have had good luck on the roads.
