No kidding. The British Prime Minister just resigned. That means in 2022 we would have been lead by at least 3 people.2 points -
Silent Hill fans can finally rejoice!
killamch89 and one other reacted to Shagger for a topic
So it is in fact a Silent Hill 2 remake. Good. This version of Konami making an all new Silent Hill without Hideo Kojima would only have cocked it up. There's still a chance they could cock this up too obviously, but time will tell. It's also a timed PS5 console exclusive, meaning it will be on PC and come to other planforms, likely the XBox S/X, after a year. Anyway, here's the trailer for those who are interested.2 points -

Will video games still exist in 1,000 years? Or even 100?
killamch89 reacted to Kyng for a topic
I expect they'll still be around in some form. I don't know whether they'll still be called video games (I suppose it's possible that TV and movies will become more interactive, and eventually merge with games), but I'm pretty sure they'll still exist.1 point -
In their last match against City, their was a ball he ought to have dragged back to his teammate that is closer to him, instead he decided to square tbe ball to a player in the other flank, that was how the goal eluded his team. But to say, Nunez's form aren't bad, the kid has about four goals in the league and remember he hasn't played much, he's just coming through three match suspension.1 point

I didn't grow up with this so much as discover it in my 20s. Still such an iconic song.1 point -
Your trying to give them credit "trend setting" but none of these "trends" are for the benefit of the end user. This company is so fucking avarice that they make the likes of EA and Activision-Blizzard look like fucking charities. Every aspect of every single one of their products are designed from the ground up to leech as much money from thier customer base as possible. The manipulative marketing, the overpricing, the proprietary connectors/accessories and their continued denial of right to repair. The worst thing is they have successfully manged to hook their consumer base to such an extreme extent that they will applaud their inferior, overpriced products and worse than non-existent customer service. You seen the Louis Rossmann video I posted right? The woman brought her MacBook to an Apple store because it wasn't charging properly and they told her that the pins on the battery connection were bent and they would have to replace the logic board the cost of $425... both of these were flat out lies! The pin's weren't bent, it was just loose and even if they were at worst it's the battery that needs replaced, not the board! Why are they lying? Simple, Apple would have replaced the board (probably with one they got from some other poor sap through this disgusting practice) then put hers in another "broken" MacBook and sell to somebody else They are discussing! This not an isolated incident either, they pull this kind of shit all the time. Check out the guys channel, he set up shop close to an Apple Store and it's packed to the brim with stories like this.1 point

Video games might be risky to some children with arrhythmic heart conditions
killamch89 reacted to Kane99 for a topic
I've been seeing things on social media about how some video games can be bad for kids, but I didn't know it was about arrhythmic heart conditions. But, I can totally see that being an issue for some children and even adults. I'd argue though that it can happen with tv shows and movies. I imagine more so with stuff like horror movies or anything with a lot of surprise.1 point -

Did you give in to the remakes?
killamch89 reacted to Kane99 for a topic
Yeah I agree. Or games that haven't aged well in terms of controls and graphics. The original FF7 hasn't aged super well, but I still have a fondness for the graphics. I played a quarter of the way through the game, and I remember liking the graphics. I have yet to play the remake. I hear they're making multiple parts now. Why so many parts?1 point -

It does because they have more health on higher difficulties afaik. I remember fighting this corrupted thunderjaw on the ted faro island and I can say it definitely felt like 15 or so minutes trying to get it's health down.1 point -
RIP Stadia - Closing up January 2023
killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
I merged these two topics as they are about the exact same thing. We don't need two separate threads when they are talking about the same thing at the same time. As for Stadia, who gives a shit? It was a joke from the beginning.1 point -
Which would you pick?
killamch89 reacted to Crazycrab for a topic
Nvidea are being very disingenuous when it comes to their marketing on these. There are variants in the line up that have different amounts of RAM on board. That's fine, we've seen different amounts of memory being put on the same chipsets before. What they are being really sly about that they different boost clocks and CUDA core counts as well. So the 4080 12Gb isn't really a 4080 at all because it has 26% less CUDA cores that 3080 16Gb.1 point -
Most frightening moment in gaming
killamch89 reacted to Rain Dew for a topic
When you reach the final boss, die, and decide to return later to play and the saved file in your memory card got wiped clean/doesn’t recognize the save file. The one and only time I got to the end boss on ff7 on ps1 I ended up with a bad memory card which corrupted my save file.0 points
