I think the fun comes in from working with these studios and the developers and coders. I think the testing side is a afterthought when most of the testers are probably more interested in seeing how far the game has come and working with other like minded people. The actual testing side sounds like a chore for the most part. But getting to work close to devs and other team members has to be a great benefit.1 point

Do you feel mobile gaming will get better over time?
killamch89 reacted to Kane99 for a topic
It'll get better when companies stop trying to add pay to win to a lot of these apps and games. If you want to level up faster, beat the game faster etc, it'll probably be better to just pay to own the game. Or don't support games with pay to win elements. If they did what fortnite does with their battle pass, maybe I'd consider more mobile games.1 point -
I get why apps have ads, especially if they're free to play. Of course it is annoying to have to watch a 15-30 sec ad just to play. But usually some apps will let you buy the full game or require pay to remove ads. Most games I played have had ads, but I don't usually play the games too long anyway. There are some games and apps that toss up way too many ads. It's like they are trying to get you to just buy the game.1 point

Nope, but I'm aware that there are programs and software you can get to help make games. I know rpg maker is one that many have used to make their own games. There are other game makers out there too. Otherwise you can probably find a game engine to code on. I wouldn't know the first thing about making my own games though. if I have the knowledge I'd give it a try.1 point

Im unaware of how many people still play apex legends, but I can't imagine it coming close to what fortnite it warzone does. I can still see it being somewhat popular among fans, but I doubt the servers are full up or people right now.1 point

Eh probably not. Im by no means a pro gamer, nor am I that good with most mobile games, so I probably won't have much of a chance to go pro as a mobile gamer.1 point

I have not, but I hear it's very similar to over watch and some said it's too similar. It's free to play so I may check it out. But I never was into overwatch so idk if it would even like this one. But can't hurt to give it a try soon.1 point

I can only think of mobile games. But most of them required you to do repetitive tasks and I think the addiction aspect wained pretty fast when I got bored of the games. One was this football game that became too easy to play. And I just got bored of winning lol.1 point

Do you feel battle passes are just the norm now in games?
killamch89 reacted to Kane99 for a topic
Seems like it is. And I think for a free to play game, a battle pass system makes sense. But when it's a $60/$70 game, I don't think we should be paying for a battle pass on top of it. If we do, we should ateast get the first battle pass when purchasing the game at no additional cost and maybe charge us when the next season comes. That imo would be fair to me.1 point -
I think so. With the way Fortnite and Warzone have become hugely popular, I can see more multiplayer games coming that feature free to play options. They will probably just copy the method Fortnite does with their battle pass every new season or chapter. I think that is the way to go. You don't need to pay in order to play either, and can still level up. But won't get the other unlocks you would with a battle pass. That's the only way I see things working. But there are often free games from companies and more. I can see free games being a thing for years to come.1 point

I have seen people streaming on there for a while now. Didn't know they made it possible to do it from your PC. If so I may actually consider doing some streaming on there to see how it goes.1 point

Depends. I use cloud saves and such kinda often, but as for cloud gaming, not so much. I don't like the lag, I feel it's not 100% there yet anyway so will be a while before I can take advantage of cloud gaming.1 point

I don't play anything that's pay to win. It's one to have micro transactions and all that, but when you intentionally have a play to win game, it's really not fun or worth the time. Most pay to win games fail usually due to fans hating on the idea. As long as micro transactions and other such things don't give you an edge against others, I see no issue with it. But when it gives better items to those who have the money, then it just becomes pointless to play. Especially if it's a free to play game in the first place.1 point

I have and I had fun just playing with people and friends 🙂 I do not speed that amount of hours and not to mention that I have not played the game in years.1 point

Iron Force for iphone/android. Real Time tank combat game. Stary off with some crappy tank, and progress a little bit, but to get the "good" tanks you would have to play like 5 years or spend a ton of $$ - CRAP Best of the best that's free and you can buy if you wanted too, World of Tanks Or Warships 🙂1 point

Forsaken, it litteraly saved the game and showed what a true sequel should be. Last Wish alone makes it my favorite dlc, but honestly everything was either great or a welcome addition. Except infusion.1 point

Internet speeds are not nearly standardized enough yet for cloud gaming to actually become mainstream, and even then there will always be egregious input delay that makes competitive games untenable. And I have not used cloud gaming as I tend to stick with the same games that I have istalled and to save money from not paying for it 😛1 point

I just end up uploading Twitch stream clips more then anything, as it dounds great there are so many people that are streaming on Tiktok that is not even gaming related. And they get the best of the best. And you got ban...... DAMNnnnnnnnnnn How?1 point

For me, Halo's/COD'S gameplay was fun, but working towards sweet armor/gun sets by completing challenges was awesome. Now even if a game implements in-game sets through challenges they feel way less rewarding, because they'll either be shitty compared to the paid pieces, or (in my case at least) I'll just assume that the other player's armor is paid for.1 point

Technology isn't the issue, it's the "greed over gameplay" design of most of the games on mobile. it's almost entirely freemium games that are loaded with microtransactions, timers, loot boxes and a bunch of other crap. Their motivation is based on monetisation rather than making the games actually fun and until that changes mobile gaming isn't going to get better and I don't realistically see that happening.1 point

To be honest, I've been spending more time with my friends and family over the Christmas period so I didn't game quite as much. That's great. What kind of gaming chair is it? Happy New Year to you too mate.1 point
