The Last of Us (Spoiler Thread)
StaceyPowers reacted to Crazycrab for a topic
I know there is topics about this show already but this is in the proper section and as of 8 hours ago, this isn't speculation and is about the show how it's actually presented: The first episode was great! It detracted from the game in some places but never in a way was affected the story negatively. I expanded the story into areas that the game never did while still remaining faithful to the lore and characters. I'm my opinion as a massive fan of the game it's got the balance of being faithful to the source material while also giving me some suspires and unexpected moments. I do have a slight fear that the violence has been soften up a bit to much, but maybe that's just me being hardened up to what's in the game which was always going to be in more volume. I'd love to hear what you think and I am considering this a spoiler thread. I've kept it spoiler free in this OP but feel free to discus spoilers from this point forward. If you haven't seen the show or played the game consider this your spoiler warning from this point forward.1 point -
Bryson 800. Finally, a shotgun which actually feels as powerful as it is (with long barrel anyway) 🙂 not had a shotgun that FELT powerful since the spas 12 in the OG mw2. Most shotguns in cod just feel… lifeless and don’t have a satisfying sound to go with their buckshot 😞1 point

If you could make any movie a video game, what would it be?

I always thought Metal Gear Solid would make a really good movie if done right. The dialogue would be a little hard to pull off, and the boss battle style scenes would need to be re-worked. The game has enough twists in it to make it really interesting though. Snake is a cool hero type character, Otacon good comedic relief, and the FoxHound members make great morally grey villains.1 point -
Nope, I'm not good with game development programming language 😞 If you don' want to learn to code you can hire a freelancer to make a quick prototype, I mean it would cost allot but then again it would take YEARS to learn and at my age I can't be doing that now.1 point

I feel like there hasn't been any seriously good maps since BO2. Then again, I haven't played any new CoD games since the MW reboot came out and kinda skipped the whole jet pack and insane colourful guns of the later Black Ops era and other CoD games. If I were to player any of the newer titles that I missed, which should I go check out and why?1 point

I have not played the game before. No. Sounds fun but I do not think that I Would get into the game by any means. Would not be easy to get hold of it anyway, then again I might be wrong 😛 I stick to what I fo best right hahahaha1 point

It's a hard game for new players, honestly. Playing halo at even a marginally high level is addictive, but it takes a damn long time to get there. Plus it's content that people are stick of. It's the same old same over again. But end of the day you going to ahve a bad HAlo and the good1 point

Ultima Online still exists. It is still being developed, and people still pay to play it. Similarly, WoW will still exist off the forever loyal crowd it has. But me, Not wllingly, but the fantasy rpg genre has nothing good in it currently, ESPECIALLY mmorpgs. I find myself occasioanly limping back to ye olde at-least-they-tried1 point

HP 1 & 2 were really good games. I don’t remember 3 that much and I remember disliking 4. But Quidditch World Cup was what’s up. Quidditch would be so fun to play on a modern video game engine. I really hope they flesh it out and it isn’t just tacked on minimally like bowling or golfing in a game like GTAV1 point

The Last of Us (Spoiler Thread)

I loved the first episode. The presentation and the performances were spot on. I actually like some of the changes, like how in this version Robert sold a car battery to Marlene that Joel intended to use to find Tommy and that Marlene needed to smuggle Ellie out of the city. That is better than what happened in the game. I actually mentioned this in my The Last of Us Review/Synopsis/Analysis that I didn't feel the smuggling of the guns didn't really make sense and was poorly explained. The motivations in the TV fit much better into the overall plot. I do agree. It does seem like, at this point, the violence is a little toned down, but it's like we are at a point in the story that violence was going to take centre stage, so it is possible that will come, we still have 8 episodes to go. Not that it bothers me, the show doesn't need to (and likely can't) go as far as the game. I am a little concerned about the next episode as were entering a part of the story (That being moving through the ruined city between the quarantine zone and the capital building.) that I think is much harder part of the game to translate into a TV show, so it will be interesting to see how well they handle this.1 point -
Probably any Gameboy based Pokemon game, since the luck in getting specific Pokemon, or the way you can level them up just enough to get into a new area. For consoles, I'd probably say any need for speed or burnout game.1 point

I don't believe so, it has a big esport following, and it seems to be good for EA, who normally does trash at multiplayer/big games outside of sports games. I'll be curious how they can keep the hype going, without having people drop off like Fortnite when they kept changing things as they did so frequently and modifying the way items/aspects worked in the game.1 point

I think that it makes sense. Get people into the game as much as you can, and then have them pay for extra features/maps/weapons, etc. It was odd that Destiny went the route they did for the first game where it was paid, with a bunch of paid DLC that made you feel like you were buying a new game (based on the high price of their DLCs) every year or so.1 point

I play it every so often, kinda just do my own thing or just do races. A lot of the game is really just kinda boring now or people just going at it with the best weapons/equipment in game which kinda ruins the fun of just exploring or hanging out with friends only.1 point

I have yet to have an accident while playing in VR. I almost hit stuff with my hands a few times but it's usually a bump and I'm good. I'm very cautious when it comes playing in VR, because I don't want to damage my nephews headset.1 point
