  1. Well, yes. Especially since the PS5 era is all about recycling stuff from a previous time period. But yes. Do be silly and pay $700 for something you already own. ๐Ÿคซ Both Silent Hill and Resident Evil are cash cows today, without Team Silent and Shinji Mikami ensuring the teams developing them aren't ingrates. They always just hype them up for the sheepfold that support it, to then fall short of the mark. By the way, Capcom wants to make their next RE game earn a 90% rating, which RE4 last achieved nearly 20 years ago. OK. Capcom, you can march on. I wish you the best. ๐Ÿ˜…
  2. Man. This is the era of remasters, remakes, lame console upgrades, and boring, sporadic State of Play events where next to no interesting content is shown. Just what is going on? Or more like, what is NOT going on? ๐Ÿ˜…
  3. No, but I went to see Hearts playing in Edinburgh. My sister's boyfriend began shouting abuse at a player, because they lost a match. He was a real fat slob. โšฝ๏ธ

  5. Money grab. ๐Ÿ˜ณ A console with no disc drawer. WHAT!? ๐Ÿคค ๐ŸŽฎ ๐Ÿซฃ Well, okay. I know Microsoft has a digital-only console. Even so. How dumb is this? How would you play movies you own physically?
  6. Don't hate the game. Hate the scumbag. ๐Ÿ‘Ž Next the press will be blaming Chucky. Oh... actually... I think they already did.
  7. Cillian Murphy! ๐Ÿ˜
  8. I'd feel terrible. Music makes one feel great.

    Gowan

Anyone like Lawrence Gowan, from the band Styx? He had a lot of success in Canada in the 80s and 90s. Gowan is originally from Scotland. The latter song has a contribution from Jon Anderson, known for being the frontman of Yes and recording with Vangelis.
  10. Well, I believe survival horror games really picked up again in 2013. Some people believed the genre would die a painful death in 2012 because of RE6 being a critical flop. I mean, my dislike of RE6 diminished once the years went on. I still don't get why it's so disliked. Because if you enjoy RE4, 5 and so on, it plays the same way, to be honest. Only now you can move and shoot at things, which I appreciate. Having to just get a hatchet in your face because Leon or Chris just stood there in 4 and 5 because they were unable to run and cap them off sideways was just meh. Rule of Rose is kind of like Haunting Ground, in that a dog named "Brown" helps you. They were actually made in a similar style to Clock Tower 3.
  11. Is there anyone on here who agrees that RE4 has always been somewhat overrated? While I find 4 and 5 are fun games and have much to be remembered for, they have never felt like genuinely scary sequels to me. Even RE0 is more like a proper RE game than 4, despite having no storage chests. And they both lack horror. 5 more so, but 4 has it downgraded too to an extent. Of course, all franchises can eventually have changes made to them. I suppose there aren't really "rules" that must be followed, because only the producers have the final say. But RE4 has a lot of features I can best sum up as being kind of gimmicky-esque, like how every creature leaves behind items, or how numbers subtract on the screen as you approach an objective you must fulfill. With the exception of Nemesis, Mr. X and Brad Vickers in his zombie form, this did not occur with other enemies in games released prior to RE4. Everything had to be acquired. Keys. Ammo. Healing supplies. It was rarely just handed to you by any NPC. RE4 soon gets repetitive as well. The merchant is also pretty silly. I openly talk about that character a lot. You're able to buy explosive stuff with loot, which just makes your experience in a horrific environment feel like a walk in the park. So Leon Kennedy may as well change his name to John Matrix. For I mean, it's just crazy to think a series about a zombie virus escalated into bizarre territory. So RE4 basically just set the course for some really daft, underwhelming stuff in subsequent entries. And the tone of the game is odd. A cult is behind the kidnapping of the president's kid as opposed to a corporation in the field of medicine. The other games after 4 have been rather weird as well, especially RE8. To be honest, it just comes down to Capcom copying trends. I guess it has to be done to survive in an ever changing world of gaming. So it can come across as a bit shallow if things are getting constantly imitated. But it is probably going to land Capcom in hot water someday. And I guess if that happens, it just happens.
  12. Konami has put out a new trailer in time for the game's October 8 release date.
  13. To be honest, while I would not say to never play it, the game is generally quite boring. But I think the controversy it received was what boosted its sales.
  14. Yes. PS2 games are great, and it was the best generation for survival horror, up until 2005 where it peaked. The graphics may not be high definition, and sometimes the controls can feel outdated when playing some games now. But the list of games that kept up amused back then is extensive.
  15. Death Curse of Tartu (1966) 1/10 ๐Ÿฅด I just turned it off. LOL...
  16. Of course they won't be as amazing. Capcom treated the RE4 remake with kid's gloves, well... because it's RE4. The original CV doesn't even have that many enemy types or bosses to boast of, but they'll probably still trim out a lot of the juicy steak. Nobody should feel surprised anymore. They're probably going to remove the Gulp Worm, since the similar creature in RE3 that attacked Jill in the park was cut. I mean, that's probably not all that will be removed. They'll likely remove the toxic Hunters (called Sweepers), maybe the bats, and the spiders. I can see them doing that, since they never even added crows and spiders into the remakes of RE2 and 3.
  17. It may not necessarily be all bad news, because I think Annapurna Interactive aims to still fulfill the games they are contracted to, so they can be marketed. But they will likely continue under a new banner elsewhere.
  18. Well, No Code in Glasgow are the developers of the game. I guess in this instance, they can just replace their publisher. Although I'm in the dark here until an update is presented on what their next step is.
  19. But our Silent Hill: Townfall. Damn it! ๐Ÿ˜  https://www.vulture.com/article/annapurna-interactive-staff-quit-what-we-know.html To hell with this. ๐Ÿ’”
  20. I'm glad some companies still develop old-school horror games. Hollowbody was released today, in fact.
  21. I sold a copy a while back, and got like ยฃ400 in cash. ๐Ÿ˜…
  22. There's actually a "Don't be a casual wimp" type mode that turns off the UI. It means as you explore the environment, you won't see any RE4-esque numbers indicating where the next door is that you need to go to. ๐Ÿšช Who added that in the first place? Seriously. I don't need my hand held in a horror game. ๐Ÿคญ
