So here we are some 5 months later... and as predicted, no true RE fan even gives a flying frog's butt about this pitiful "remake" anymore. 😜 I thought the RE2 remake was actually a pile of trash as well. People generally say that RE3 sucks, but RE2 isn't really any better. It does not deserve a free pass whatsoever, but people are inclined to think it's some brilliant masterpiece. It truly isn't deserving of the praise it receives online. For I mean, you run like a jackass around like one bloody street at the beginning to get to the building, and there you go. You're at the police station already. That's just dumb. Not to mention, all of the locations and creatures that Capcom shoddily removed from the game. Sorry, but that's nothing more than a disservice to the fans as a whole. How is it that you could code crows and spiders in a 1996 game, but not in 2019? Come on, Capcom. That's just stupid and sheer laziness on your behalf! In the original RE2, you start at the fire in the streets and either run inside the police station, or you have to go the longer route if you're playing the A scenario. You basically go in the gun shop, see the owner (Robert Kendo) being devoured by zombies, and you traverse alleyways and a basketball court, as well as heading through a bus. NONE of that made it into the half-baked 2019 version. At least, not in that particular order. Yes, you do visit the gun shop, but that occurs much later on. Kendo isn't killed by zombies either, because they make out he has a sick daughter. In the RE3 remake especially, the original game's locations were more so just serving as backdrops. Also, they did away with Ada's iconic red dress. I guess that's what Capcom sees as being 'fan service' to a community that begged them years ago to do a remake, similar to Shinji Mikami's remake in 2002 that was on the Nintendo GameCube. The rest of the game just felt so cheesy and rushed, quite frankly. When you're in the tram, heading down to the lab, there's no tension inside of you at all. And yes, Capcom. We wanted an actual remake. You provided something so inferior. I don't care what anybody says about RE4 and most of the action oriented games that followed. RE4 practically killed the series. It's a dumb action adventure game that is pretending to be a horror title, where you shoot anything that moves and you pick up coins, and look for treasure. You can do kicks and wrestling moves on enemies. Hell, just about everything you slay drops something. That's just idiotic. That isn't to say RE4 is by any means absolutely crap, or unplayable. But as a RE game in line with the older games, I don't like that it disregarded the plot established in the other games. It sort of rendered all of that build-up relatively pointless. Everybody was eager to take on Umbrella someday, but Capcom just axed all of that. Unless of course, you want to play an awful on-rails shooting game like The Umbrella Chronicles. That game is dog poop, but at least it sort of concluded that arc with Umbrella, and playing as Wesker in first person is kind of cool. To be honest, I think a lot of people are predicting that "Village" is going to be a filler game, so that Capcom can basically save money and insert assets from that game into the eventual RE4 remake. Again, what's really the point in remaking RE4 anyway? It's the primary reason we've ended up with so many trashy third person shooter horror titles in any case. Hitting that reset button just feels pointless. About as pointless as all of these bland tie-in games that Capcom has been licensing, because they are money grabbers. You name it. Umbrella Corps, Operation Raccoon City, that Android nonsense, and Project Resistance. These games spit in the face of the real RE fans. Although I must say, the animated movies are done with a lot of passion. 2020 has sucked. We're going through a pandemic... and where the heck is the great games, eh? We don't know much, if anything yet, about how much the PS5 will cost upon its release. 🤨

Well, I'll be watching Michael Does Life when he goes live.

So far, Gamescom has been rather boring. Keep in mind though, this is only the first night. It will continue on until this Sunday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLHHhhQr7Ns Business needs to pick up soon. They could just be saving the best games to show off last. Well, I hope so at least. Just bring on Resident Evil Village already. :P

I hope everybody on VGR is keeping themselves safe and happy during the pandemic! ;)

Hellraiser reboot shooting for release 2022
Knight Plug replied to The Blackangel's topic in Movies & TV
Oh God, no. I watched four of them recently, and they don't need to return without Doug Bradley as Pinhead. 😞 -
I was in a film like The Last of Us, as one of the Infected. It's called Redcon-1. It's about a girl who is bitten, but she is revealed to be immune to the virus. 😄

I'd love to have an expansion game or full sequel. Due to how the game ended, I do think there's opportunities for Naughty Dog to expand on the series. However, if they did frequent entries like what Capcom does with Resident Evil, I fear they would gradually go downhill because of how quickly they could push them out. Naughty Dog are known for their exceptional quality. Capcom are able to offer greatness here and there. Don't count them out as a whole if they mess up here and there, because they can deliver. But sometimes, they get way too money hungry for their own good. https://metro.co.uk/2020/07/10/naughty-dog-already-working-ps5-project-according-job-listings-12973732/

OK, I have to gripe about something. You have a very outdated layout on here. You cannot edit posts or remove them yourself. You cannot preview a post before you submit it, and there's a lack of tags. 😞 Normally, I don't like to double post, but I was using the YouTube app on my phone, and it doesn't correctly add the proper link, but rather the shortened version. Anyway, here's the video I tried to post the last time, that I couldn't. All of my devices feel like they're being throttled too, as my laptop is an ancient piece of crap. Meh. 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04xZOG2cnTQ Sod it. I posted a damn video before. Why isn't it working now?!

I went back and played the last section the other day, somehow managing to avoid getting killed once. 😁 By the way, if you're a real fan of the series, you won't want to miss this channel. They post comprehensive videos about the games, explaining theories and so on. Of course, do not watch them if you've yet to finish any of the games. But I reckon this is one of the best videos on YouTube. https://youtube.com/v=watch04xZOG2cnTQ Getting links to work on here is a bloody pain. 😐

Considering the length of the game, I'm not too disappointed that Naughty Dog has opted not to do DLC. Just out of interest, where is the spoiler tag on here?
-
Well, the game is getting heat too because Neil Druckmann even confessed he lied about the promotional material involving a particular character. It could be branded as false advertising. If you don't know what I mean, look on YouTube. AT YOUR OWN RISK!

It's like someone going around saying that the actor who plays Negan really does enjoy smashing people's heads in with Lucille. It's crazy people like that who make me hate online services. 🤧

Ellie and Joel are ruling the UK charts this week. 😘 Do note that my review on YouTube includes spoilers. Just keep that in mind. 🤳 https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/06/uk_sales_charts_the_last_of_us_remastered_returns_amid_sequels_success

Yeah, I did know. 🤭 But it's the whole game and the overall theme. Just what the good Neil Druckmann ordered. 🙃

You need a heart of gold to appreciate these games. While the second one let me down, I don't want to completely discredit Naughty Dog's work, like so many YouTubers are doing. It's a game that will hopefully not prevent further entries being produced for the PS5 era. I do feel some of the backlash from the fanbase is warranted, although as I said, Naughty Dog did make some questionable decisions. But all in all, there's a very gripping story on offer. In a way, this is the SJW community's wet dream of gaming. There's certainly something in this game for every SJW. LOL! The gameplay however, only received some minor new additions. Like, you can use rope to climb up to awkward catwalks to get passed. Other than that, it has a dodge feature, which is hard to get to grips with. The rest of it is mostly not too dissimilar to the original.

Truthfully here, what did you think of this game? The graphics are sensational. The story though, is extremely depressing. There's nothing but violence throughout, and the heartbreaking story saddens me.

The Silent Hill franchise is arguably the scariest video game franchise ever. Perhaps it's more terrifying than even Resident Evil. But while everybody was excited about P.T. way back in 2015, the game Silent Hills (on which it was based), was ultimately axed after Hideo Kojima's highly public fallen out with Konami, and then his departure from Konami followed soon thereafter. Over the years, fans have gotten very little in the way of rumours about a game that could follow up from 2012's Silent Hill: Downpour, until the industry insider "Dusk Golem" on Twitter started to broadcast more details, about the supposedly in development soft reboot, which is meant to be just that, apparently. It's not intended to be a remake at all. And he said it's also in a playable state. Then today, I just seen this placeholder on Amazon. Could it be that Konami is indeed planning to reveal a new game in the series at the PS5 event? Well, sit tight, as the event is actually going underway tonight, at 9 PM BST. 😱 https://gamerant.com/silent-hill-ps5-amazon/ What are some of your favourite moments from the series?

I'm kind of warning up to the Blue Umbrella story now. At first though, it sounded like another God awful excuse to take the franchise nowhere meaningful. Like they had just pulled it out of their asses to milk the series and keep everyone guessing. Hopefully it's gonna be brought up again in RE8. It should be, if Chris is involved.

I don't know, man. But I didn't think RE7 had bad writing, but the remake of RE3 does have some of the series' absolute worst phrases. Even RE2 had better dialogue and character exchanges. Not that RE2 is all that splendid either, quite frankly. I really like the fact that Alex Wesker (in the body of Natalia Korda) is apparently coming back for RE8. She hasn't been in a RE game for like, 5 years by this point. She is Albert Wesker's sister, and that name surely has to scream RE when you know your stuff. So her coming back makes me glad Capcom isn't ignoring her. She's going to really make things extremely terrifying. But yeah. I don't particularly like first person games. In fact, I hope we actually get to see Ethan Winters this time. He was never seen that well in RE7. I don't want this being repeated in RE8. Oh, and Chris isn't an "evil" villain. He may seem bad, but he's just paranoid from the years of seeing people he cared for, dying before his eyes. Capcom making him a battle hardened veteran and regularly being featured is why he's arguably the most iconic RE character. But oh yes... Chris' redesign in RE7 wasn't that hot. That has to change. There's even crazy rumours floating around that maybe he's not the real Chris anyway. It is possible to clone people in the games now. A clone of Ada Wong was one of the primary enemies in RE6. Chris even thought Carla ( the clone) was truly Ada, causing Leon to intervene. If you remember the early trailer Capcom showed off, they were seen pointing their handguns at each other.

Dusk Golem seems adamantly sure Capcom will reveal RE8 soon. For me, this is Capcom's last chance to prove to us real fans, that this series can be restored to its old glory. If not, well... I have other games to enjoy. I hope first person isn't here to stay. For sequels, I would much prefer the basic third person view. For now anyway, Capcom is focusing on first person.
