AndreiMirfi reacted to Alexander. in Future of Online gaming
I remember growing up playing Flash Games, and even to this day, I will occasionally sit down and enjoy a session. My favourites are Space Invaders, Free Rider HD, and Tetris. On the other hand, technology and the gaming industry is evolving at record speed, and new titles are being released with updated tech. Flash will and has been replaced.

Yeah, Flash is pretty much dead at this point. I think sites like Newgrounds just use HTML5 now. Flash is also not very protected, so you risk getting viruses and stuff from sites that still use it.

AndreiMirfi reacted to The Blackangel in Community Chat #1
The last couple days have been pure hell. Nothing has gone right in any way, starting with having to put one of my rats down. Things have just completely gone downhill from there. If something doesn’t change soon I’m going to completely fucking lose it.

Today’s episode is brought to you by the number 139.
What the hell.... 139? That can’t be right. Seriously? It is? Then what the hell is the damn letter? Some ancient Chinese script?

AndreiMirfi reacted to Shagger in What is your favourite game for the PS4?
The Playroom? That's an interesting choice. It was cool, yes, but it was more of a tech demo than an actual game.

AndreiMirfi reacted to DylanC in Last movie watched?
I really wanna see this movie but can't find it on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Been *searching* but can't find it (sorry for the bad joke)

AndreiMirfi reacted to Crazycrab in Racist Watch
THAT
Listen @m76, anyone who has told or in some way tried to convince you of that is either racist, not very smart or most likely both. It's just an excuse to sweep this problem, and it is a legitimate international problem, under the rug and go back to a state of blissfull ignorance. Now like @Shagger pointed out, a small number of people are using the protests as a window to break the law and spread anarchy but that is NOT what BLM is about.
Now I'm not racist in any way but I do admit like so many until recently I let myself be blinded to these issues without even realising I was doing it. But I see it now and we ALL need to wake up.

I had a dig around, and the only other place I can find where it's discounted is the Microsoft Store.
Standard Edition
Deluxe Edition
So that's a decent deal right now, but who knows if the game will be cheaper that at some point between now and Christmas.

AndreiMirfi reacted to Crazycrab in To those that game in third person …
I mentioned in the other thread that it makes no difference to me whether a game is in 1st or 3rd person perspective. All that matters is that the game is properly designed around whatever perspective the devs have chosen to go with. There are plenty of shooters that play just as well in 3rd person (Fortnite, Gears of War, Uncharted) as others do in 1st (Call of Duty, Titanfall, Borderlands). Likewise there are plenty of action/RPG games that are just as good with a 1st person (Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Mirror's Edge, Fallout, Elder Scrolls) perspective as others are in 3rd (Assassins Creed, Horizon Zero Dawn, Dragon Age). When the game is well designed the perspective is irrelevant.

AndreiMirfi reacted to The Blackangel in What do you do when you are bored from games?
I taught myself HTML when I was about 16. I used to have a website that I built strictly with HTML, and a touch of prewritten JavaScript. It looked really professional for the time frame. As for the JS, I can’t write my own, but I can usually manipulate a prewritten code to fit my needs.
I also ran a fairly popular forum, and had a guestbook with a few hundred comments.
It was a fairly big and popular site for several years, and actually won a lot of awards.

@THawk, have you tried using a incognito or private window to log in and see if you are experiencing this issue? Also, are you using a VPN service at all? We're not getting other reports of log in issues.

I logged in with edge instead of Firefox and all seemed to work. While I like Firefox it can be a PITA!

AndreiMirfi reacted to skyfire in Sports video gaming
F1 and the NFS series of the games are definiely fun to play though they get over your head after some times but F1 is definitely a good experience.

I often look at other games and recently started developing interest for the game development too. I am currently using the defond engine as it allows export to android. I may consider getting into the game development slowly.

When I got bored on playing games, I read a lot of books, mostly fantasy. However, I've recently started reading "Blood, Sweat, and Pixels: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are Made", highly recommend 🙂

If you’re into fantasy, you should read Knight’s Wyrd. It’s my favorite fantasy book, and I’ve read a lot of them. You can get a copy of it on eBay for like $4 or $5 with free shipping most of the time.

I'll read, do crosswords to music, watch sports or auto racing or watch Jeopardy with my dad.

AndreiMirfi reacted to Crazycrab in We've (finally) released our first game, so I interviewed our lead programmer about the experience! (With a bit of an AMA)
Are you fucking serious? You post an A.M.A when nobody on the forum even asked you or your company any questions then ask, in response, if this is something that happens often on this forum as if it's some kind of excuse?
FUCK OFF!
Just to let you know spamming has been a problem as if late and many of us are sick of it.
To tell the truth, the game actually looks pretty decent. But you need to make a meaningful contribution to the community before pushing it like this.
